Worse, we booked with kayak, but actually the delta/ Aeromexico flight was booked with vayama. When one flight changed departure time, we no longer had our great pre-selected seats & couldn’t check in online. We had to work it out with delta & then aero Mexico t. After 30 min on the phone we got the last 3 bavk row seats near the toilets & cackling, aging flight attendants. No reclining or real food made for a lousy 3 1/2 hr lunch flight. No apologies, smiles of sympathy. Just snacks tossed our way"

Cons: "They boarded the plane, only to tell us they had to de-ice, which is understandable. However, after waiting 20 min for the de-icing that never came, they made us get back off the plane because of mechanical issues. The captain/pilot was rude to the woman working the desk over the radio, to the point where she had to leave the desk and go speak to him in person (she knew we could hear everything.) That conversation is also how the whole line of people was informed that then knew about this mechanical issue since the night before, and chose not to fix it before boarding all of us. After getting to Philadelphia later than expected, we were forced to pay for hotel food that was horrible and overpriced. Only to then have our plane be delayed AGAIN because of mechanical issues, again the pilot not giving much information to the attendant she was faced by a room of 40 angry people and had no answers. The departure time slowly crawled out longer, and the only reason I knew was because of having the American app. Information/communication on all ends was poor. I usually fly Allegiant, which is notoriously “cheap,” and I’ve never had an experience like this. Happy my boyfriend has flown with American before and knew to give us an extra day so we didn’t miss the wedding we paid $800 in airline tickets to attend. Just disappointed."

Group 6 which I was in seemed like it was just the rest of the plane. Super busy, took me forever to get to my seat all the way in the back. Why don't airlines reverse board? People sitting in the back should board first. I feel like this would save so much time."

We own a 2nd home in Maui and travel there twice per year. Looking at other options."

We did tons of research to figure out the most efficient way to travel with our little guy and decided to bring his car seat on the plane since he travels so well in it. As long as there's a tag or some sort of label on the car seat stating that it is approved for air travel you can use it in a regular plane seat. The first boarding agent was completely unaware of this rule and acted like he was gonna make us check it at the gate. My husband insisted that he would not do that and that it was allowed, so the guy said "well you can try, but it's probably gonna get checked". Once we were on the plane, no one said another word. Feeling like pros by the time we were boarding our return flight home, we installed the car seat in the middle so we could sit on either side as we had on the way to our vacation. This time the flight attendants informed us that we had to install the car seat in the window as it could block the person sitting in the window seat from an easier escape in an emergency. Again, my husband explained that the person in the window seat would be me and that we had installed it in the middle on the way to our vacation, so she said "oh, okay then". Minutes later a second flight attendant came through telling us the same rule but enforced it. While I can appreciate their reason for the rule and the fact that they eventually enforced it, I was baffled at how many employees did not even know their own rules about car seat travel!"

Not to mention that a charge of $59 for a carry-on is outrageous, especially when they for some reason charge less to check the bag! Second they are the worst on updating you on any changes to your flight whether it was the time or gate location. My flight on the way to Florida was delayed for four hours, and on my return flight they did not help me check in which caused me to miss my initial return flight and almost had the nerve to charge me a fee to book the flight for the next day. The managerial staff is rude and unhelpful, and if it wasn't for the help one good hearted staff member at the counter I'd still be stuck in Florida. Oh and again they changed my gate on the way to FL and on the way back MULTIPLE times! As a matter of fact, I was not told about my gate change for my return flight until the aircraft was about half way boarded! As far as the aircraft itself, the seats are uncomfortable and they even charge you for water. This was the worst flying experience of my life and will never fly this airline again! I hope Spirit goes bankrupt!"

Pros: "I've had bad experiences with Spirit Airlines in the past at other airports and was a bit worried. I was pleasantly surprised that the flight was on time and flight attendants were friendly. Flight took off 10 minutes early and arrived 30 minutes before scheduled time!"

Cons: "This airline company was totally misleading about everything. My luggage was okay on one flight but return flight was not okay, had to pay for luggage both ways. Was told to check in on line and the website wouldn't let you plus then had to stand in line for 45 min to check in only 2 clerks working with 109 plus people in line. I will not fly spirit again. The seats where so small and uncomfortable."

Cons: "They home of the bare fare is just that, bare. It gets you to the door of the airplane. Just you, no bags or carry on, no seat, no food. Also bag weight limit is 40 lbs compared to 50 in other Airlines. When you add up the price difference is minimal unless you are willing to travel with only the clothes you are wearing. Flight delay was the cherry on the cake. First time and last time for me."

Cons: "Their customer service is horrible and virtually nonexistent. They charge for everything including water. I boarded a plane scheduled to take off at 1:30 from Las Vegas. The plan pulled out to the runway and sat there for two hours while maintanence attempted to fix the broken emergency exit lights. After waiting for two hours on the runway the plane proceeded back to the gate. Where we say on the plane for another hour, while the crew constantly reassured us the problem would be fix momentarily. During this time the air conditioning was turned off in order to reboot the whole computer system and being in Vegas the cabin got very hot. I got up and asked the flight attendant and she refused to give me a sip of water. After that hour we were taken off the plane and forced to wait for another hour and a half with only one customer service agent to address passenger's questions. The only answer she could us was "I don't know any details I am just the middle man". Eventually the plane arrived in San Diego 5 hours late. By that time I had already missed the ceremony of a wedding in which I was a groomsman. I got off the plane and rushed to get my bag from the baggage claim only to find that my bag was not there. I went to the spirit help desk in San Diego and nobody was available. So I called spirit customer service in Las Vegas 3 times in a row before a human answered. I was told there was a mix up and my bag was left in Las Vegas. After the whole ordeal of the delayed flight and missing bag. All I was offered was a $50 voucher good towards a spirit airlines. I refused the offer as I would NEVER fly spirit even for free."
Cons: "3 hour unexplained delay. I've now flown 2 times with total delays in excess of 5 hours. Great price not worth the irritation. Last time for me."

Cons: "The flight kept getting delayed and the gate switched and then right when we were ready to board, they told us that we were going to be delayed another two hours on top of the other two hours. Our original flight was supposed to be at 10:41 AM and then at 3:00 PM is when they finally decided to tell us that our flight had been cancelled."

Pros: "The pilot from Atlanta to Cleveland was a hoot. The whole plane was in good "spirits". Still grinning about some of his quips. He was the best part of the trip, and would be the only reason to fly that airline again -- if he were going to be the pilot."
