Pros: "It is so far a cut above the American carriers. There’s no way to compare them, because Qatar Airways is so far superior. The seats are far more comfortable and larger, the amount of legroom is far superior, you have much more personal space, and the craft is cleaner. Flight Attendants are fantastic! They provide excellent personal care, and are there for everything. They are supremely polite and courteous, and bring things in mediately. Very often anticipating your needs. This is what flying used to be like on United and American. But those people have completely forgotten what service is. Qatar is a 5 star airline. United and American, to my view, are 2 star at best."

Pros: "Service is courteous, both on the ground and air. Food & entertainment was top-notch as well. One of the economy rest-rooms were out of order and I was allowed to utilize the business class restroom by the flight attendant. Head bursar was very apologetic and sympathetic about the whole issue. Enjoyed my flight, again on Qatar!"

However I did not arrive in Johannesburg because a flight delay (even though our flight was set to let ontime) caused probably 40 people to miss their connections. To their credit, Qatar Airways did find accommodations for us and gave us food vouchers. Otherwise it'd be a zero rating."

Frankfurt as the conneecting flight was late too). On top of that mess I have not gotten my speciality meal and eintertaiment system was malfunctioning the entire flight. Crew could not be bothered with bringing over water and didn't exactly respond to call button."

Now no mater what other plane I catch idmiss my connection in Dallas. Which means I don’t get to Paris on time. Which ruined my plans to surprise my gf and propose to her. It took one call to British Airlines to get me rebooked. Something american was taking hours. I still won’t make it on time but at least I’ll make it. American then misplaced my luggage and it took two hours to retrieve it. Turns out it was sitting behind the counter the whole time the kept telling me it would be on the baggage flame area."

Had I not seen it a few hours earlier, I would have waited to use the restroom. Good thing they showed the same video three times in a row."

Cons: "First I get to the airport in Montreal to fly with Lufthansa.as I bought my ticket with Lufthansa.. ..made line for about 15 min they tell me it is not with them, it is with air canada..no reason why...so I did made line again..the hours of that fly were the same.. but when I landed in Geneva somebody is waiting for me to tell me my fly has been cancel..so I had to fly to Zurich instead and not only that I had a meeting today getting into barcelona but with the new schedule instead of arriving to 400 pm I ended up getting there at 730pm..and to add to this it is a 4 days trip so I already lost one..and I still not in Barcelona so will see what happens to my bag."

Staff were friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Good mix of younger and older staff. Food wasn’t bad. Cabin crew kept passengers up to date. Really can’t ask for anything more."

She was like a parent or a teacher telling her kids to share but not solving their problem over the head bin. Then before we were landing, the passenger next to me asked for her help to put her bag into the head bin because she’s not tall enough. Karen said she’s doing security check and never came back. I managed to help my neighbor passenger before landing and was very impressed to this flight attendant."

The touch screen entertainment did not work. The flight arrived too late to make connections - again. The boarding agent at the gate in Los Angeles was one of the rudest and most arrogant men I have ever encountered. I complained to the plane's Captain about him, as he was going through. All the business class passengers around me were commenting on it. One was even filming his egregious behaviour for Facebook. He alone was enough to put one off Air Canada ."

Cons: "Tough to have a long-haul flight without functioning seat-back entertainment. Mine never worked. Asked three times about it - three times the system was "rebooted" - to no avail. I told each subsequent flight attendant that it had already been reset - they just "tried" it again. Very frustrating over the course of several hours. No one ever checked to see whether their re-set actually worked. Also, not sure why the window seats now have an arm rest on the window side of the seat - seriously interferes with passenger comfort when trying to sleep."

Pros: "The flight crew were wonderful to interact with and really helpful in accommodating my disabilities. Dinner was mediocre but at least some was available, which I didn't expect on an overnight flight starting after dark. ("Breakfast" was a slice of really tasty banana bread but nothing else.) I really appreciated the presence of outlets and USB ports for charging electronic devices, and that the seats had adjustable headrest flaps. These are essential features on long flights!"
Cons: "It's almost impossible to sleep in economy class seats, even with the adjustable headrests. I recognize that economy is supposed to be the "no frills" class of travel but sleep is not a luxury. Sleep is a basic human need, like food and oxygen. I don't actually believe that offering better accommodations for everyday passengers (off whom the bulk of airline profits are made) is financially unfeasible or unreasonable."

Pros: "The seats were generous. The crew was efficient. The flight was on time going but late returning due to fog which is not the fault of the airline."
Cons: "Sadly, it took 1.5 hours to check in at the Air Canada counter in St. Maarten. You could not do it online!!! It was a very long time to wait in line. Plus, we didn't have time to make any duty free purchases. Unfortunate."

Cons: "One of the stewardess was a little smug. She caught herself and tired to back up and be nice, but she was definately a little agressive initially. Sorry, I have been busy, I cant recall what she specifically looked like. I think she had carmel skin, dark hair and was around 30. Again, she did adjust herself, but I wanted to share this as the only real issue I noted for the trip."

Cons: "I literally walked for 40 minutes across YYJ to make this connection. Security was a breeze, the airport was empty late at night, it was all smooth sailing. This is not a whine about hardship - I was just continuously astonished that I'm still walking! It was amazing! The slightest delay on your incoming flight and you're sunk with that much travel time in between... In this day and age...basically making a US to CA domestic connection is better done through another airport. -Cheers!"

Cons: "1. Food very substandard. Hot food not very well prepared and rather tasteless, and snack was like a cardboard wrap with some salsa sauce in it. A disgrace to a major airline like Air Canada. Selection of drinks very limited. 2, Staff persisted in speaking mostly French, on an international flight. Some announcements were made only in French. As a Canadian, I can follow French, but let us remember that English is the international language. To use French is not fair to other nationalities, who expect English. 3. Seats far too close together for a long flight. There was more legroom on the Jazz flight from Montreal to Ottawa! 4. Entertainment kept breaking down. Headphones for my wife did not work, and eventually both of our screens went dead. Her's quit right in the middle of a movie. Bad!! 5. Boarding passes had zones on them, but these were totally disregarded in boarding. This resulted on overcrowding, long waits, etc. Hard on older people!"

Cons: "I couldn't check in early on line because my original flight was cancelled but the notice came out after early check in started. The seats also seemed more narrow than other airlines (even after I paid to get a seat (a result of not being able to check in early)"

Cons: "We sat in the back rows of the plane so it was hours before we were even offered water and by the time they finally got to us there was no food to PURCHASE. Bad enough we were not fed on this long flight but there wasn't even anything to purchase. By the time they FINALLY got to us to provide us something to drink, they came through wanting to take it from us. I was VERY disappointed with this leg of the trip as it was not at all what we have experienced on the first leg of this very long day of flying. There was no time between transfers to use the restroom, let alone buy food, had we known."

Pros: "The flight attendants, especially Theresa, were fantastic. Theresa was very attentive, fun, and made each passenger feel special. The flight crew Supervisor greeted us each by name and leads a spectacular crew. The seat, amenities, entertainment, and food were just amazing."

Then flight gets delayed from 9:00 to 12:00. This forces me to miss my hotel reservation in LAX, This was one of the worst flying experiences I've ever dealt with. Then the airline doesn't even have the decency to give me a pillow because I was sitting in coach. If this is what airlines are becoming, i can't wait for the hyperloop one to force them into bankruptcy. The lack of respect for their paying customers is asinine."

Had problems getting a room overnight - management said we weren't in the system. Gentleman at air canada desk very rude - even told his partner in front of us he couldn't stand this part of his job."

Pros: "This was an overseas/overnight flight and I was a little concerned because last time I had a 10 hour flight with United (NY to Hawaii) they gave us nothing but water and pretzels. This time we got 2 meals, dinner and breakfast, plus beer and wine. Service was very good, staff very friendly, flight on time and comfortable."

Cons: "We lane was delayed 5 hours, once it departed the plane was very cold and difficult to sleep and encountered more turbulance than usual."

Cons: "We bought this on swiss air with the terms that included free skis. When we arrived at the airport, Unites airlines informed us that skis would be $200 to check. A pretty awful surprise to start our vacation. Perhaps it should be made more clear that the operating airline’s fees with predominant - not the fees we originally agreed to at purchase. United’s planes are awfully old and small."

Cons: "The plane was old and very no-frills.It felt like a flight from 10-20 years ago. The tv screen as about 4x5 inches and you could not even select any movies, shows, or games. It simply had 9 channels with 7 bad movies (from about 2-5 years ago) and 2 bad TV shows. Also, each started right at the beginning of the flight and when they ended 2 hours into an 8 our flight, that was it. You had nothing else. I expect better on a non-budget airline."
