Cons: "Good food. Best airline I’ve traveled besides Southwest. First international flight and the crew was so nice and professional!"
Pros: "The flight itself was fine and the crew was excellent. The boarding process was efficient."
Cons: "My center seat, which was assigned, put me in an extremely uncomfortable position physically for the entire 14 hour flight. My two seatmates extended physically into my space, and minimal legroom meant by knees were pressed against the seat in front. I was not happy at the lack of seat choice."
Cons: "Embarked late. Sat on runway for 30 minutes waiting to disembark. Missed ride to Eugene Or. Not happy."
Cons: "We had a two hour delay. First the aircraft was late. Then it needed repair and another aircraft had to be brought up. After a 10 flight from Frankfurt and a 3 hour layover in Vancouver, I was not a happy camper!"
Pros: "Crew was helpful in answering questions"
Cons: "The only food served was a pay option only."
Pros: "90 minutes"
Cons: "90 minutes"
Pros: "Flight was mercifully short."
Cons: "Air Canada canceled other short haul flights and jammed the overflow passengers onto our flight which resulted in our flight being late and overcrowded. Passengers that came from the canceled flight complained that this wasn't the first time Air Canada had done this."
Pros: "Airfare is very reasonable. Food on the planes are average. Service is average."
Cons: "Flight was delayed from Vancouver to Portland"
Pros: "A short flight on a small plane.Smooth flight, smooth, smooth landing. Although the flight was delayed, the passengers were kept informed as to where the plane was and the expected time of departure."
Pros: "The leg room in basic economy was great -- especially compared to other airlines. In seat entertainment was free."
Cons: "No complimentary snack on a five-hour flight. Food was available for fee. Entertainment movie/TV programming was limited (not live television)."
Pros: "0"
Cons: "Because of the delayed flight out of Lisbon I missed this flight and was rerouted to Vancouver. I had to go through customs and re enter the airport going through security to board the Vancouver fligh. Slept in a hotel for four hours, paid for by Air Canada, went back to the airport through security again and flew to Portland."
Cons: "Air Canada offers this flight DAILY. Yet somehow the boarding was the most excruciating tedious I’ve had to endure. Passengers who needed assistance boarding seemed to have to deal with haphazard organisation, and the fact that they seemed surprised so many people brought carry-on luggage that the bins filled up is laughable. Changed my return flight to Alaska Air."
Cons: "I did not make this flight. Instead was re-routed and spent 12 hours overnight in the Vancouver airport before getting to fly to Portland, without my luggage that was left behind in Toronto."
Cons: "I was held back for 'random' security check. Security lost my boarding pass and didn't care. Only found it because my friend asked them to check a table where they had put it. They didn't apologize for any inconvenience and instead security chief kept asking more questions. Truly atrocious customer service."
Pros: "Pleasant crew"
Cons: "ONE bathroom for all of economy Had to buy even smallest snacks Poor overhead bin space"
Cons: "No luggage"
Cons: "There was one announcement about preboarding and none after that -- only one announcement about delay of 20 minutes but we were more than an Hour late boarding. That was 1st impression. Then, when we got on the plane, it was very old so made me worry about safety."
Cons: "The entertainment system was broken on this flight."
Pros: "Good price for flight ticket"
Cons: "Food"
Cons: "Customs detained my girlfriend and I for an hour causing us to supposedly miss our flight. We spoke to a Air Canada Rep and they told us our flight had left and they couldn't hold it for us. That is fine but they said they would not provide us with a hotel for missing this. Ok that is there policy but we ran to the terminal E95, for our Flight to Portland which had actually had not left and they were actually holding it for another person. So Air Canada lied about our flight leaving and that there was not another one till the next day. Overall I will never go to this airport nor will I use Air Canada ever again."
Cons: "The flight attendants were jerks. Why can't I listen to my headphones before takeoff? Because of the safety speech? Are deaf people not allowed to fly? I was asked to take my headphones off during the safety speech, which I did. I put them back on after the speech and was yelled at. The lady in front of me had a dog. The lady across from me was talking on her cell phone. And the kids behind me were playing games on their iPad with no headphones and the sound on. No one said anything to them. Screw this airline."
Cons: "This Air Canada flight was operated by Lufthansa and was cancelled due to the strike. So, this means that I am still in Germany which is not the worst place in the world to be stuck, especially because my parents live here. So a few day longer are not a problem for me, but if it takes a week, it is not good because I am supposed to be at work and I am using up vacation I had planned to spent with my family."
Pros: "Nice friendly staff in plane, and experienced staff at airport (unlike in Okinawa, Tokyo and Osaka). Nice to be able to recheck bags and clear US customs in Vancouver, BC thanks to the US section of the terminal, so that we didn't have to do that upon arrival in Portland."
Pros: "It got me home."
Cons: "One of the attendants yelled at anyone who needed to use the bathroom whenever the seatbelt sign was on. Understandable when the plane was actually experiencing turbulence but most of the time it was a smooth flight. Know there are regulations concerning this but I feel she could have been a bit nicer in her tone. Thankfully there was an empty seat just outside the toilet so that I could sit but anyone who arrived after me was told to return to their seat. When nature calls, sometimes it's impossible to walk very far."
Pros: "Staff was courteous and tried to get people with large luggage to check it."
Cons: "It took forever to load as people carried on huge bags that wouldn't fit in the overhead bins or under the seats. It took an extremely long time to get through American customs, and they were very rude, not caring if people missed connecting flights. They wouldn't add workers. Some almost missed the flight. P"
Cons: "I needed to sleep ( it was 1:00 am in the city I originated from) and in the smaller plane the seats barely reclined and it was hard to get comfortable, let alone sleep."
Pros: "I was last on the plane. The crew was welcoming."
Cons: "Not very clean bathroom. Not unusual for airplanes."
Cons: "To small of plane."
Cons: "My girlfriend and I booked our flights about 10 months in advance and had selected seats next to each other for all of our Air Canada Flights. Somehow all of these seats were changed without an update to us. We did not sit together at all on any of our flights and were put in middle seats, which is not what we originally requested. We were both very upset with this as some of these were long flights."
Cons: "My flight from Milan was 1 1/2 hr late but before landing it was announced that our seats on the connecting flight was "protected". I got to my gate 40 min. before takeoff (it was 15 min. delayed). Upon boarding I was told my seat was given away. They assumed I would miss my flight. I had to wait another 4 hr. to board a flight to Vancouver BC leaving 11pm. I had to go to a hotel at 2 am and take a 8:50 am flight to PDX. Before boarding I was again stopped because my ticket didn't have the proper security stamp. The agent there was extremely rude and condescending. This was a terrible experience!"
Pros: "Price and crew were good. comfortable enough."
Cons: "No decent place to eat in the airport and no food options on the flight. Also it was an hour delayed."
Pros: "Nothing in particular. We got here safely. That's good."
Cons: "1 bathroom for long flight. Ridiculous. Very tight and uncomfortable seats. No pillows, blankets, food and drink service only 1 time in long flight and all food is purchased. Basically, an exercise in human torture for 5+ hours. Should not be permissible to treat people this way."
Pros: "Staff VERY professional. Very easy to use food voucher."
Cons: "Mechanical Issues. Made to wait 4 hours for alternative plane."
Pros: "I'm glad Air Canada took appropriate precautions to ensure our safety, however..."
Cons: "On the flight from Portland to Vancouver, someone was allowed to board the plane and then leave, with no explanation, no accompaniment, and no way of contacting him. Consequently, our flight was delayed 3 hours while police and bomb squads checked the plane and all the baggage. Why was this person allowed to disembark in the first place? This occurred during boarding, so there should have been attendants there to stop him or at least ask him where he was going. And once he did disembark, why was no one able to track where he went? Seems like an odd security breach and, ultimately, a huge inconvenience for the passengers who remained on the plane."
Pros: "- On-time departure, attentive staff and good selection of entertainment to pass 5 hours of travel time - Love the pre-boarding for families with kids - Good overheard space for carry-on bags - flight was not way overbooked and no one had to scramble for space"
Cons: "- Narrow leg room - relaxing in the economy class was challenging (but not surprising experience)"
Pros: "Wow these guys balance MANY flight changes and seat changes with professional and humor that all the passengers appreciated"
Pros: "Air Canada worked hard to get people where they needed to be but security was somewhat difficult although understandable"
Pros: "The only thing I liked is the fact that I arrived safely at my destination."
Cons: "I did not like the three house delay in Toronto. And, of course, we were always told, it will be just a few more minutes each time so for three hours we were stuck, milling around @ the gate.....well actually between two gates because they kept changing gates.......waiting for the flight. If I'd know it was going to be 3 hours, I would have maybe gotten some food and wandered away to find a place that had a spot to sit. Instead, standing on one foot and then the other, hungry for three house while Air Canada got their #@%*# together and found a plane that actually functioned appropriately."
Cons: "The final leg of our travel boarded over 2 hours late. No compensation given for that. Two planes were declared not fly worthy-low confidence. While not Air Canada's responsibility, Toronto's Pearson Airport was awful. We went through many airports on our travels and this stood out as the worst. Constant security checks that seemed unnecessary. Poor line management. Not enough security/immigration kiosks. Very expensive food. During our 2+hour delay for boarding, we observed constant gate changes for other flights. Flight organization seems poor."
Pros: "That this flight had entertain system that was on broad. Did not have to down load or use your horrible app."
Cons: "You should provide food or snacks for flights over 2hours with no charge. We were only offered a drink. Some people do not carry credit cards to purchase items."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable and I was able to sleep for most of the flight."
Cons: "My flight was delayed several times and the gate was also changed. I recognize that safety is important, but passengers should be offered snacks when their flight is delayed for several hours."
Pros: "wonderful airplane fantastic crew endless options for entertainment"
Cons: "wonderful airplane fantastic crew endless options for entertainment"
Cons: "The pressurization of the cabin was very uncomfortable for me. I fly a lot and only notice this like one in 30 flights. I was very swollen after and felt the pressure during the flight."
Cons: "No viewing screens and fewer selections of movies from air canada app compared with selection from vancouver to tokyo. I don't know why our return trip was so different."
Pros: "Punctuality"
Cons: "Not even a pretzel with a soft drink or coffee. Also coffee was lukewarm."
Pros: "Seats were comfortable and could recline more than other planes. Had entertainment in the headrests."
Pros: "Again, I felt we had excellent service. It was a small plane and one steward, and she did everything!"
Pros: "Short, quick and convenient"
Pros: "It was alright, just not much entertainment on a small plane"
Cons: "No enough things to entertain me and the seats were somewhat uncomfortable"
