Cons: "I didn't make it because the flight to LAX was late and despite being told by an Avianca employee there was a later flight from LAX to PDX (at 11:45 on AlaskaAir) which I would be put on, once I arrived I was told I was on a 6 AM on Delta with no arrangement to get me a hotel or anything. I bought a separate ticket on that 11:45 flight on Alaska Air to PDX instead. Extremely unhappy with this service and will never again use it. I will also tell everyone in my social circles, in person and online, to stop using it."

Cons: "What I don't like is having to tell you what I like and don't like about taking a trip on an airline. Suffice it to say, we made it and that is never a small accomplishment for which I am always genuinely grateful and appreciative to the pilots, the crew, the engineers and builders of these large metal tubes with wings that continually and mostly consistently manage to defy the laws of gravity by propelling groups of human beings across large stretches of land and over water. Cons: "Apparent aggressiveness to get as many carry on bags paid for by the ground staff measuring with a measuring tape all bags. I've never seen anything like it. My bag was fine. Then, when they started to take fees you had to come back and pay. It wasn't done right then. The ground staff was minimally helpful. Flight amenities or not, pay for headset and having more than 2 TV shows and 2 movies cost you an up charge even on an overseas flight. One choice for dinner.- pasta so it was vegetarian. Breakfast was a sad roll, one small piece of cheese and ham, and fruit that was that questionable. Overnight flight, pillow no blanket in Economy. Seats hard and leg room was tight. Their Economy plus and business looked a much better way to go."

Cons: "Jet Blue provided 5 sequential delay messages over an hour. Their inability to better estimate departure is disappointing. The real problem is that delay was caused directly by the airline's incompetence. There were no weather issues, the takeoff spots were available. They simply failed to load snacks. Although there WAS a minor prior delay bc a slightly late plane arrival, we eventually were delayed about an extra hour to supply snacks on a 4-hr flight. Given the ground crew had EXTRA time to load and also considering the tiny set of options offered, this is senseless. Further, b/c they ran out of overhead bins, they offered to GATE check my luggage. This was essentially a lie - they put it with checked bags, unlike the gate checked items I watched others retrieve. The combination of these errors led me to arrive at the car rental desk after closure. This caused me to incur a taxi fare, so spend 30 min or so working out an alternative rental the following day, and then yet ANOTHER cab to the Car Desk to get the car. This is the only time in my hundred or so car rentals anything like this has happened. I will certainly think twice (or more) before booking Jet Blue again."

And then when the flight attendant who checked me in mocked my 2 layover itinerary and said there was a direct flight to HNL from JFK leaving later that morning, she at least could have tried to sell me a seat on that flight, rather than rudely laugh at me “I guess you can only do what you can do” like I was too poor or something. That was annoying. I’m bored of the JetBlue snack selection it’s been the same for years."

I was offered neither and we only received chips 1+ hour into the flight. One of our TVs broke and the crew wasn’t helpful in an alternative... Overall worst Jetblue exp I’ve had to date, and I’ve flown with them a lot due to my Mosaic status.."

Cons: "From the time I got to the gate 90 minutes before flight to the time I got off it was terrable. Delays before boarding with no explanation then the same continued onboarding. First it was waiting for bags. Strange when there's a 2 hour+ delay that all the bags weren't there? Then waiting for paperwork followed by the part they needed was incorrect and a new one was on it's way from the hanger.. Finally departed 1 hour plus later. The plane was an old cattle car. Free TV didn't work right, so at did not recline (no it wasn't an exit row.). Most of the crew and gate attendants were rude and indifferent except for on flight attendant. The entire row of seats didn't recline at all. She was very apologetic and acknowledged it was uncomfortable especially on a 5+hour flight. She did offer us something to eat, blankets earbud. Still my back was killing me upon arrival at Phoenix. JEt Blue. Get your act together. This is unacceptable."
Cons: "The flight was delayed 6hrs 30 mins and changed departure gate twice. At no point was there a gate change announcement overhead (there were gate change announcements made for flights to Bermuda, Boston and San Francisco). During the boarding process many people stood and went in before their group was called, one agent noticed it and told the agent checking the boarding passes “all of these people are group A?” To which the other agent replied: “no, but I can’t do anything about it”. If there are group assignments, they need to honor that, as some people pay to board earlier."
Cons: "* Flight was delayed, no one's fault. * Wifi was free, which is a very nice JetBlue feature, but wifi was often slow. I'm not sure this could be improved. * Because the flight was long-ish and we had to taxi for an hour, my computer ran down, and there were no electrical outlets at the seats or even usable on the plane, because it was an old plane. I lost a couple of hours that I could have been working. * One of the flight attendants was actually rather rude. Without any warning, she waved her hand in front of my face to get my attention during beverage service. I could understand this, maybe, if I had not responded to a question (I was typing on my computer), but she hadn't even tried to ask me what I wanted, she just went for this very abrupt and aggressive attention-getting technique. She startled me, and I told her she had. She did not apologize."

I relieved that the upgrade seat came with boarding in the first group. Some airlines you pay for the seat, but you're still group 3 or 4 and, meaning all sorts of anxiety about the most miserable part of any flight, the dreaded fight for the overhead bins, wondering it you'll have to check the bag and then wait for it at the destination. Thank you for removing that."
Cons: "The flight took off two hours late. We were suppose to arrive at our destination at twenty minutes after midnight, and instead did not arrive until 2:30 a.m. You felt like the pilot got on the plane when you did with no planning involved on how to get to Austin. I later learned that Jet Blue has the worst on time record of all the airlines. And you got nothing to compensate you for the inconvenience. I am really disappointed in Kayak for not making it known on our ticket that we were flying from New York to Austin on Jet Blue. When buying my tickets on Kayak, it appeared on my itinerary that all my flights were on Iceland Air. It was very confusing to me, as I don't travel very frequently. And airport staff is not very helpful when you are in this situation. Due to all the confusion, I will probably use another airline search tool for my next trip to see if I can lessen the confusion."
Cons: "I was delayed half a dozen times, only to be canceled. Rescheduled on a flight that was scheduled to depart two hours before the original flight. Rescheduled after an hour hold. That flight was delayed the following day. Was diverted to Baltimore only to find out only some of us on our flight are getting out by a rude agent. Then no information at all. Had to run to catch an amtrak. Later found out if I stayed I would have stayed another 13 hours in Baltimore. Missed work and had no one home to take care of my family. Oh, and travel insurance will not cover anything. The plane itself was falling apart. Seat was broken and dirty. Everyones lights were broken and it smelled."

And even this one station would disappear from time to time. None of the seat-mounted controls worked -- including channel, volume, brightness, and music. And you couldn't even turn the damned thing off so it glowed in your face all through the overnight flight. In short, a terribly boring 6.5 hours aloft in terribly uncomfortable seats."

We sat on the tarmac for almost two and a half hours, and it must have been around 85 degrees on the plane. There was a lot of miscommunication about whether we would be switching aircraft. They finally told us to deplane because we were probably going to switch planes. After 15 minutes in the terminal, we reboarded the same plane. Got to LA 3 hours late so had to deal with horrible rush hour traffic, which we had hoped to avoid had we taken off on time."

Totally worth it but it made for an even harder time getting in at almost 630am PR time. 3) The turbulence was horrible. We were warned but so many customers were getting sick. In the boarding there wasn't any space for my things, my carry on bag and my personal item .. i was trying to get some help to one of the guys working inside the plane because the top compartment was full, when i ask him he just say that space is for all in the plane isn't suppose to be space for you there if some other guest took it.. I was really upset because i paid for my flight ticket and it was included my carry on and my personal item.. otherwise i know there is more people in the plane but is not like i brought more things than the ones i paid for... if you don't have capacity for all the guest you should say it before... The flight was delayed with an hour.."

Was receiving alerts beginning from that morning notifying of delays which continued as I waited at the airport that night. This seems to happen frequently and nothing is ever done to make it up to travelers. On the plane, the audio for the tv had static so you couldn't actually hear anything. It doesn't seem like you can turn the tvs off, which is annoying as they emit light, so if you want to sleep you have to deal with the light from your tv."

Boarding was made into a ceremony worthy of the Papal Stations of the Cross - for God's sake, you were only boarding 40-odd people! Food...??? You're willing to SELL me junk food, water?!!! Far and away the worst aspect of this flight, though, was the ticket counter personnel, timing, process-boundness. A. the counter did not open until 0930 for an 1130 flight....you require me to be present 2 hours prior to takeoff, yet your people are not available to service B. the woman at the counter forced me to check luggage that I have carried onboard aircraft all over the world with no flack from anybody, my protestations notwithstanding C. she then explained that our checked luggage could and would not be checked through to our final destination and when I protested that I had had no such issues coming east and could not understand why we were having this conversation, she referred me to "policy." Malarkey. Want to hear something funny? The bags ended up being checked all the way, making my departure from the secure area to claim my bags at JFK pointless, and necessitating my submitting to security lines and scrutiny once again. As I said to my wife at the time of this debacle, if Aer Lingus is the only airline flying US-UK and a rowboat is my only alternative, please pass me the oars."
"There was an enormous line at LAX trying to check in and check bags. Fortunately the staff were accommodating and allowed us to check our bags even after the deadline had passed -- but it was definitely an extremely stressful experience!"
"We flew First Class to LA from Denver on the Delta-branded contract airline - Sky West. On the way back, we flew First Class on a Delta Airlines owned jet, and the experience was so much better. The flights should have been comparable; but unfortunately cost-cutting by Sky West was evident."
"The terminal on my ticket was different than the gate number. We went through security and had to take a 15 min shuttle to a different terminal. Why not just go through security there? There were also no attendants at the gate to discuss seat assignments. My husband and I didn’t have seats together. Try on board crew was great, but the airport experience was lacking."

Pros: "Delta is the airline to fly if you have to fly (like I did) during a pandemic. They made sure at every turn we felt as safe as possible. They had passengers distanced from each other the whole time, handed out sanitizing wipes as we walked on the plane, made sure folks kept their masks on, gave us individual little baggies with snacks and water bottles that also had individual hand sanitizer packets. I felt so much more safe flying Delta on my way home to Hawaii in July than I did when I flew American Airlines on my way to the mainland in June."

Cons: "... on top of that I kindly requested to speak with a supervisor and i was denied it. As a customer I deserved that. I would a ticket with Aerolineas and nowhere it said it was delta. I followed the baggage allowance explained on kayak website and on Aerolineas Argentinas. I took a bicycle which is free and i pay $100 to packed it as Aerolineas wanted. When I arrived it was a Delta flight and they told they don't allow bicycles and that i had to play $150. Aerolineas website and kayak clearly says that bicycles were free on my flight. I show the agent my ticket and that no where it said delta to consider what he was saying since it is an alliance but i was not informed about it. He said no and after wait there for a while before boarding i kindly ask to speak with a supervisor and the denied it and disappeared. I request a refund of my fee to you for providing incorrect information."

Cons: "LAX security is awful. We never left the airport (arrived LAX from Sydney AU) yet were forced thru security again. Had to remove shoes, was scanned and "frisked" by TSA to get to Denver. To go to Australia, Denver TSA waived the removal of shoes, skipped the scan for the metal detector and no one touched me, ditto for LAX on the trip to Sydney. Where's the uniformity or standards for TSA?? Why did I have to be subjected to this garbage on the way home?? This is why I despise flying. It makes no sense to me. This ruined what was a great vacation."
Cons: "We had to wait at the customs for nearly 1.5hrs, then pick up our luggage, then check in again!!! We were running and got on the plane 10 mins before the departure. Super stressful!!"
Pros: "The flight was nearly full, but I lucked out. One person in my row did not show up, so myself and the other lady in my row had the benefit of having an open seat in between us. The crew was cheerful and accommodating. They did the normal beverage service, but also brought complimentary water and coffee 3x during the rest of the flight. This was greatly appreciated, especially after 5 days of drinking and partying. My buddies and I spent two and a half days in Las Vegas for a bachelor party followed by two days in the LA area for a wedding (yes we did it Hangover style) :) Thank you Delta!"
Cons: "My only complaint was that the flight was delayed out of LAX by about 30 minutes due to the flight in-bound being delayed. However, the captain made up most of this time in the air so it ended up being a non-issue."

Cons: "The flight attendant could not serve coffee or tea due to "no potable water" onboard! The electric outlets at each of our first class seats were not functional, both the USB ports and the electric plugs did not work so we were not able to charge our phones during the flight. When I mentioned this to the flight attendant her response was that she had not received a report that the electric was not working. No other assistance was offered. There was very little legroom even though these were sold as first class seats. The plane was old and dirty, the armrests were sticky."

Pros: "Had to cross terminals and the pathway was closed due to an international flight landing (poor planning on LAX part) so had to exit and reenter terminal through TSA. Flight delayed an hour then cancelled due to control panel failure. 10pm flight became 12am bus (and originally told it was 11.15pm bus which was "stuck in traffic" when google map traffic was all green). Got back to SD 4 hours after scheduled time."

Cons: "This was an almost 6 hour long flight, LAX to OGG. The aircraft was older and for a 6 hour flight, they really should use a bigger and newer aircraft. The entertainment systems on the back of the seat worked sporadically and the PA system was too loud and every time the PA system was used while we had our headsets on, it was excruciating We had no warning in order to remove our headsets before it blasted into our ears. We were amazed that after paying a considerable sum for our tickets and being in the air for 6 hours, there was limited meal service and we were required to purchase a sandwich in order to eat. I fly Delta frequently and this was by far the worse flight I can remember."
Cons: "To be clear, I do not have an issue with overweight people. That being said, I was put in an extremely uncomforatable position on this flight. My seatmate was a woman who easily weighed 400 pounds without the slightest exageration and was 5'7 at best. She carried all of her weight in her midsection and behind, which was truly uncomforatable for us both. As she attempted to squeeze into the aisle seat it became apparent that with the armrest down it was not going to happen. She raised the armrest and finally maneuvered into her seat and part of mine also. Not only was her bottom in my seat but her stomach was resting on my entire right leg. It felt like a toddler was sitting on my lap. This was beyond uncomfortable and embarrassing for us both as it was clear that she knew how intrusive this was and kept apologizing. My leg went to sleep after about 15 minutes so I asked to be let out. I approached the flight attendent and requested that my seat be changed to which she responded that the flight was full. I know it wasn't because I could see an empty seat about four rows in front of me. Finally I sat back down but every 15 minutes or so she would get uncomforatable and get up to stretch. The first time it was a welcomed break, until she came back and flopped in her seat with so much force that it felt like someone had ran and jumped in my lap. This occurred 4 or 5 times during the flight. I am not sure what the policy is for obese passengers, but it should be relooked. As a passenger I should not be put in a position to address another passengers weight. I also should not have to pay for a seat and only get to use 2/3 of it. Lastly, no one should ever be allowed to put their body parts on top of another persons lap and that be considered ok."

No charging outlets in the terminal or on the plane. Plane had no food to offer for purchase. Expected better from Delta."

Pros: "My Delta flight was a code share with Virgin Atlantic. A pleasant flight overall with my first impression being an airline with current popular music playing in the background and flight attendants cheerful. Since I was traveling alone, I opted to not purchase my seat prior to my flight date, instead I chose my aisle seat within 24 hours for free. I checked in my one bag and found out I had pre-checked so my security check went so smooth at the new terminal 2 at LAX. Looking forward to my flight back on June 15."
Cons: "Had a toddler behind me crying and screaming the last 40 minutes of landing into Heathrow because she couldn't sit on her mother's lap and made it quite unbareable for all of us in the vicinity. Wondering if there was an alternative way to handle the situation."

Cons: "This flight attendant was just terrible. Wish I could remember her name for this review... She had about half of the First Class cabin offended as soon as meals started getting served - I didn't see ANYONE around me that got what they asked for, and then when people stated the issue, she didn't respond very well. I tried to take things in stride (first world problems?) but it is a bummer to pay extra for the first class treatment and then to not have that great experience, especially on back to back 5ish hour flights."
Pros: "Food was OK, ice cream at mid-flight was my favorite thing. I liked the choice of movies. Drinks are also good but why not include pure cranberry juice? It goes great with vodka."
Cons: "Boarding is ridiculous. Everyone who is not some kind of VIP is asked to line up and is treated like cattle. 5-feet tall woman holds above her head a sign with the zone currently boarding. Nobody can hear or see anything. Why not use the big LCD displays at the gate??? In the plane they had to restart the computer system as some TVs were not working and it took longer than they said. Toilets were kind of stinky and I could smell them from my seat on row 26. Blankets are way too thin for the blasting AC."

Cons: "While my experience with Virgin Australia was good, I will not book with them due to the co-share with Delta Airlines. I missed my connecting flight from LAX to JFK due to additional security screening. As such I was advised to head to the Delta terminal to be booked onto the next available flight to NYC. After waiting over an hour in line to be seen by a staff member, I was told that they couldn't change my ticket as it was a Virgin flight. The same staff member didn't seem to even understand the concept of 'co-share', and also told me that because I booked through Kayak and not Delta that they could not help me. This makes me think that booking through a third party is a risky move. I was told there was absolutely nothing she could do, and that I would have go to a Virgin Australia Counter. This involved taking all of my luggage from Terminal 5 - all the way to Terminal 3. I was assisted by Virgin Australia, where they apologized for my experience, and confirmed that it was Delta's responsibility (and that they were capable) of rebooking my flight. Virgin booked me onto a later flight, but I still had to walk back to Terminal 5 (Delta) to give them my checked luggage. I was once again told that I didn't have the right ticket (details listed Virgin and Delta flight number - so this was way too confusing for them). Finally they printed my a boarding card and took my bags. I then ran through security and to gate in time for my flight. Flight was fully booked, due to a many people no doubt experiencing the same thing. Food was awful. Was a big step down from the Virgin flight in every aspect. There was not a single Delta Staff member who would even try to understand or be helpful. I will never fly with Delta again."

Cons: "This was the fourth first class leg of our overall trip and the first three flights on Delta were great. The attendants were pleasant and even fun. I have allergies and requested a special meal on all legs. No problem on the first three flights. All attendants approached me to confirm my allergy and the special meal. They were very polite. But on this flight, the attendant didn't speak with me about it at all. She tried to give me the regular meal. When I explained I needed an allergy free meal (mind you this was first class), I was told I could not get it and got no apology or other accommodation. Her attitude was take it or leave it. I found this interesting since on two of the other flights an announcement was made about another passenger with an allergy to peanuts so no one could have them on the flights and the attendants were very concerned."

Cons: "Firstly check in was a nightmare, travelling on a Virgin Australia Flight from LAX - BNE and a connecting flight BNE - PPP (Proserpine) all with Virgin Australia, and they claim they don't have the ability to tag your luggage the whole way through??? (I understand I have to collect it on arrival into another country and then take to a bag drop) but with the same airline they claim they can't do this? I travel a lot and with many other flights internationally and I can tag my bags with different airlines all the way through, but NOT WITH VIRGIN WITH THE SAME AIRLINE ALL THE WAY THROUGH? They can't do it? Then 2 hour delay on the tarmac after taxiing out from the gate at LAX, which got us in late to Brisbane. The food on this leg LAX-BNE for the vegetarian option was terrible, which was strange as on the fist flight over from BNE-LAX it was the best vegetarian food on any flight I've ever had. Strangely 6 months out from our flight I tried calling Delta to upgrade our tickets and was told they had no way of doing it as the Delta computer system isn't linked Virgin system. Then calling Virgin to upgrade I was told I can't as it is a Delta ticker. We tried again a week out from the flight and got the same response and told to try at check-in. We tried then at check in and told they have no idea how to do this as only so many seats are allocated to Delta tickets and they can't access the Delta system?? So very frustrating and we could never upgrade?"

I lucked out and got a seat that was close to the front of the plane, even though it was in the middle. I was expecting to have no free beverages including water and thought there might not be food service at all, but there was. I got a good price for round-trip, non-stop flight."
Cons: "The check-in process was anxiety producing. I'm used to getting an email reminding me to check-in. When I checked in online I went all the through the process including picking a seat and paying for one bag. At the end it told me there was an error and I was not checked in and would have to check in at the airport. When I called the airline the person was informed and helpful. However, I learned that i should arrive 2 hours before my departure time and that the check-in desk would close 45 min before the flight and I would then not be allowed to board if I had not checked in (even if I was standing in line waiting). It was alarming that I learned this accidentally. Finally the flight took off late and there were many empty seats, but the crew did not inform us of that."

After I got on the plane I asked one crew member if I have any chance to switch the seat to sit by the bathroom because I am very sick, but seems no one cares. They said there is nothing they can do and tell me to get back to my seat. The whole fight I was sick. It was a horrible no crews member were asked me how I felt. No crews member checked me if I were ok. I had fever and so sick. There were late. I never have any bad fight like this forever."

Pros: "Despite getting no updates, our flight itinerary was changed from a 3.30pm flight to a 9.20pm flight. Unfortunately this was after landing from Milan at 1.30 with two small children so we had already had a very long day. We absolutely never would have booked this flight itinerary had we known of the change."

This is absolutely unreasonable and inexcusable made even worse that we had already had a very long journey from Milan to JFK with two small children. Evidently the issue was that we booked via a 3rd party off the kayak site and not directly with British airways. When American airways changed the flight from 3.30 to 3.25, the 3rd party company failed to file for our updated itinerary so British air/American air bumped us to the next flight at 9.20pm. We have long been loyal to kayak feeling it provides the best breadth of options and good pricing. Now we may use kayak to see all the options but I can’t booking directly with kayak anymore after this complete disaster. We ended up renting a car and driving from jfk to Boston, getting home 23 hours after our journey had started, stressed, beyond exhausted and now have to return the rental car. Thanks kayak."

There was subpar entertainment options that hadn’t been updated since at least the 90s, which was made even less acceptable since it was literally the only option for entertainment on a 7+ hour flight when none of the overhead lights worked. For a ticket that cost more than $1200, the failure of the airline on nearly all levels to provide standard services was completely unacceptable."

Cons: "The plane itself was clearly an older model, lacking many amenities I’ve come to expect flying coach. The overhead compartments were too small for larger carryon luggage, and no one on the crew alerted passengers to this. Thus, many passengers had to go against the traffic of those still boarding to find space for luggage. My seat was at the back of the plane so I had to spend close to 15 extra minutes walking back to the front against boarding passengers to find a place to put my luggage. A simple warning from the crew when I boarded would have prevented mine and many others unnecessary trouble simply boarding. During a very turbulent flight, the captain nor the crew made any announcements about turbulence, our safety, or our progress. Also during the flight, one of the flight attendants got into an awkward verbal spat with one of the passengers. Completely unprofessional and bothersome. Additionally, I had fallen asleep when dinner was being first served, but woke up before it was finished. A flight attendant approached me and asked if I’d like a dinner to which I replied “Yes”. The flight attendant never returned with a dinner for me, thus I did not eat the dinner, which I had paid for. Lastly, and perhaps most disturbing, was what transpired when a passenger had a medical emergency. With no warning, all of the airplane lights turned on and a loud “CODE RED” was announced over the sound system. Imagine being a sleeping passenger like myself, during a very turbulent flight, to be suddenly awoken to bright lights and a CODE RED shouted loudly over the PA. I’m not overexaggerating when I say that I was preparing for the worst. A truly terrifying moment that I am certain was shared with many others on board. To make matters even worse, as a flight attendant rushed to find a first aid kit (which she had trouble finding) she opened up the compartment over my partners seat and dropped a passengers ipad on her head. The flight attendant did return to apologize, but it was little consolation compared to the stress and panic the crew created. I have flown many times, and this was easily the worst flight of my life. American Airlines should be ashamed of the conditions they put their passengers in and they have lost two customers for good."
Cons: "We left two hours after scheduled departure bc 1) the plane was late from prior flight and had to be cleaned, 2) engine check delayed the flight, 3) strong winds forced the airport (JFK) to use only one runway for departures and so on top of our plane delays we were delayed an extra half hour bc of airplane traffic. No entertainment onboard, meaning no screen on back of seat in front for movies, tv shows, etc. Food options were poor, especially breakfast (too much sugar content in all contents of “continental breakfast” pack."

Cons: "Business class, Boeing 767-300 The seating configuration was 1/2/1 I would give these seats on a scale from 1 to 10 a 5, this was a very basic B/C seat, without a TV screen integrated to the seat in front of you, instead the flight crew hand out individual passenger entertainment systems, that are a pain to deal with and get in the way of everything your trying to do (ie eat, work, sleep.) I’m only 5’9 and I found when the seat was in the bed mode, the seat slopped down very slightly, and your feet would end up underneath the side table to the row of seats in front of you. As i wear a size 13 shoe, i found that space to be rather cramped especially for my feet."
Pros: "The crew was helpful and nice, boarding was calm, we got there much earlier than anticipated."
Cons: "1) Biggest complaint is not about the actual flight we were on, but the one we missed, who left the gate Early, even though they knew we had landed and other people from our BCN to JFK flight made it. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING, esp since all other flights to DC out of JFK were cancelled. 2) We were on the last row of the plane so our seats didn’t recline. Annoying at best bc the flight was so short, but would have been nice since we had been traveling for 18 hours by that point (because of the late flight, missed connection, cancelled JFK flights, etc)."
Cons: "The e-ticket did not include the terminal information. As it was an Iberia flight I went to the terminal 7 where Iberia operates. However, after waiting on line when I got to the counter the attendant informed me that the flight was operated by American Airlines and I had to go to terminal 8. I ran to terminal 8 but by the time I got to the check in it was 6:15 and they said they said the check-in for the flight at 7(which was actually at 6:55pm) was closed for check-in. I was lucky enough that there was another Iberia flight (this one from terminal 7) st 8:30pm and the supervisor was able to find me a spot in that flight."
Cons: "American completely missed the mark. AA did not successfully change our reservation when the initial leg of our trip was delayed by an hour due to a fuel issue, which caused us to miss your connection in Chicago. Since American partners with Alaskan Airlines, American should have changed my reservations with regards to Alaska Airlines, but they failed to do that. I stood at the Alaskan Airlines counter as the plane left the gate with our empty seats because there was not a ticket. American Airlines did not change a reservation successfully and so although we had boarding passes with our names and seats and the flight number, the plane left without us. I was stranded and Seattle airport at midnight with a child and an infant with one diaper and one bottle left and it was a terrible experience with American Airlines. I do not recommend flying American they cannot get it together when problems happen with delays."
Cons: "The flight I booked was misrepresented. I thought I was booking a BA flight only to find it was American Airlines. This changed the terminal I was to go to and the gate in which our Italian non-english speaking driver was to meet us at. This impacted seating selection, as well. Was forced to buy a premium seat when I realized the seating chart did not appear when I purchased the tickets. Also, flight was three hours late upon arrival. I understand safety is paramount and am grateful we eventually were able to find another plane, but it begs to speculate if things would have been smoother on a BA plane."

Cons: "This plane is very small for an international flight, and it does not have the proper entertainment system for long flights. To top it off, the plane was very smelly; I got a headache because of it. We also had to return to the gate due to a technical issue and ended up leaving almost two hours late, which defeated the purpose of picking this flight over the rest as it was the one that was supposed to land in Milan the earliest. I will be careful next time I pick a flight to check what kind of airplane they're using. My assumption that international flights have the best airplanes seems to be wrong :(."

Cons: "Very old plane. Had the screens every 4-5 aisles. No control over the entertainment. Very uncomfortable seats, but so are almost every other airlines. The worst part about this flight was that I traveled with my girlfriend and when I went to check in, 24 hours before, there were only single seats left and there were so many open seats together that were considered “preferred” and had to pay $80 for just one “preferred” seat just so we can sit together on an 8 hour long flight. The seat didn’t even have any extra legroom or anything, it was a normal seat. American Airlines is just trying to squeeze money out of anything they can."

My girlfriend flew this same plane and had even longer delays plus needed to divert In flight and turn around and land in heathrow on a mxp-jfk route (they were over the Atlantic). Problems continue for me 2 months later on this route and as a pattern it's incredibly unsettling. I'm questioning whether taking the return flight on a plane that's clearly begging to be retired"

Cons: "Flight delayed by 5 hours last minute, making my layover 17 hours long. The delay caused my car rental place to give away my reservation so I had to wait an additional 2.5 hours to get a rental car. The primary reason for my travel was a wedding and although I made the actual wedding, I missed most of the pre-wedding activities that I had rsvped for. The seats were really uncomfortable, particularly the lack of low back support. I was very sore after the flight and was unable to sleep despite having been awake for over 24 hours prior to the flight. We were finally given meal tickets but was unable to use as everything closed at 10pm."
Cons: "I bought travel insurance as I do with any trip. I have a complicated family emergency that forced me to call off the trip. Being that I bought trip insurance, I felt good. Well turns out they make you jump through so many hoops that your travel insurance fee is useless. I sent a letter to Allianz (the company that handles the travel insurance) and blasted them for their insensitivity in a difficult time. Going forward, I will not be purchasing travel insurance in the future. It may sound irrational but if you think about it, travel insurance is the tax on gullible people. You hear travel insurance and one assumes that if you spend the extra money on the insurance and something comes up, you can at least get much of your money back. Don't count on it! It's a 1/1000 chance they will do the right thing so the odds are not in people's favor. If you want to be smart, use the money you would have spent on travel insurance on some pre flight cocktails at the airport bar. Air travel is hellish enough without scams like Allianz!"

Cons: "Initial flight was cancelled after 2 hours delay. My next flight was scheduled the earliest possible by AA which was 24 hours later. No transportation,hotel or miles compensation for this. I had work and responsabilities the next day. TThe scheduled trip was supposed to take off at 7:45. Boarding started late and was very slow. My bag fit the meassurements and still was forced to check it (which I did not want to do as I did not want to be waiting an hour for my bag at my arrival as I had work early the next day. In addition there was airplaine traffic as it was "rush hour" instead of flying at 7:45 we departed almost at 9pm!!!! Have to pay for food Quality of tv monitors very poor And in an uncomfortable position No movie options No wifi although stated the aircraft has Non functioning electrical plug"
Cons: "The check in process at JFK was a disaster. The kiosk check in machines were constantly malfunctioning, where to line up was unclear, and staff acted frustrated. After several failed attempts with the kiosks you have to wait in line to check in at the counter anyways. It would have saved almost an hour of my time to just go straight to the counter-- had I been allowed to. I wanted to check a bag which contained some fragile items. Several bottles of wine which I wrapped in bubble wrap and cushioned with my packed clothes. I requested a "Fragile" sticker to be put on my bag. I was told "We don't do that here". So I asked if they handle ALL bags with extreme care and I was laughed at and told to go on my way. When I got my bag at my destination-- the outside of my leather suitcase was sliced to the lining. There were scuff marks and torn leather. My wine had been completely shattered. Not just a crack in the bottle, but flattened completely. My clothes were stained, my bag ruined. I don't know if putting a fragile sticker on would have prevented this, but I don't understand why they just "don't do that". We are trusting our property to the airline when we check bags. I will never trust American Airlines ever again. They don't want to know if I have anything fragile, and they don't care when I tell them."
Cons: "Our flight was 3 + hours behind schedule. We didn't get to take off until around 11:30pm when our flight was supposed to take off at 7:05pm. I have missed my itinerary and cruise trip with family members. Now I have to wait 2 days to catch a cruise and reunite with my family in Italy. It's not fear that the airline don't take consideration for this kind of situation. We understand that Things happens and the airline takes precautions to make sure everything is okay before take off. However, I'm very frustrated and disappointed."
Cons: "My family and I make I JFK -LAX reservation 4 months ago. We came to LAX three hours before our flight to make sure we get good seats. At the checking kiosk we did not have the option to pick seats , there was a message on the boarding pass that said to go see boarding agent. So we did, appreantly they over booked the trip and they were looking for volunteers to give up their seats!! Why did we have to be on stand by if our booking was confirmed 4 months ago!! They made us wait until the gate was closed and then they found us seats . This trip caused us mental anguish I will never fly American Airlines again"

Held on the plane for 4 hours, another 4 hours in terminal of the closed airport once allowed to deplane, no communication, no food or water, put up in a hotel an hour and half away despite this being NYC, terrible customer service, no compensation, unable to get tofinal destination earlier than 24 hours later missed events in final destination overall financial and personal losses due to the inadequacy of the airline."
