The staff were friendly and extremely helpful The lack of mobile signal meant that one of our party had to use the hotel phone to contact her father who wasn hospital. The charges for using theis phone I felt were excessive, considering you had no choice due to lack of mobile signal.
Breakfast in bed at an extra cost of only £3. Newspapers delivered to your room in the morning. Nice staff. Lovely setting. The leisure facilities were very basic, as was the bistro.....cold and uninviting. Had to have dinner in our room with a limited choice of room service menu as we could not get a table in the restaurant for dinner. Book your table early!
The room was fantastic, good size and clean. Staff were very polite and friendly, were more than accomodating with the trecherous weather over that weekend. The only adverse comment would be the check in time. I believe 15.00 is too late a check in. I only stayed for the night and feel that by the time we checked in it did not allow much time before the weather faded to explore the glorious surroundings.
Great location, quality accommodation Corridors need decorating(minor issue)
Having no phone signal made it nice and peaceful. The food and dinning room staff were excellent. We were under the impression that there was free wifi. But on arrival found that there is not and we would have to pay a fee to bt online. But this would not stop us returning as we now know.
The Health and Fitness facilities and the location
Situation on Loch. The bedroom was nicely furnished if a little dated. Outlook over car park
The shower and the phone didn't work. We asked for help with the shower 3 times and nothing changed and we were not even offered a nominal sum off for hassle factor. The check in was appalling. We were sent to the wrong bar for our 'bar' meal and after ordering a bottle of wine and beer had to be moved to another building entirely.
The views were beautiful!! Food in both restaurants was lovely and the spa was so relaxing!! Spa treatments were a bit expensive.
The friendliness of the staff and their helpful attitude The hotel is looking a bit "tired" and could do with a makeover in places. Our room for instance was not what we would consider and "executive room". It sets itself out as a 4* luxury hotel but on first glance in some areas this is not what you see. This is in some ways related to the age of the building.
the room was cosy and nicely decorated. The food was excellent and the atmosphere in the bar made it a great place to sit and relax.
Everything, but the food is the main joy. Excellent whatever you have from their varied menu,
the room layout was good and the evening meal was nice didnt like the shower been low and no shower curtain, very basic breakfast, not informed what was on the breakfast before only got choice of what type of egg
Hospitality and fantastic food Nothing.....Excellent stay
The location is lovely, the room was beautifully decorated and had access to a private area of decking where you could sit looking across countryside to Loch Lomond Finding complementary earplugs alongside the bed wasn't exactly conducive to a relaxed night.. apparently the rooms in the cottage we stayed in are known to be poorly insulated for sound. It would obviously be better if this were improved, rather than putting the onus upon the guests.
friendly atmosphere and good staff
We only stayed for one night but both myself & my wife loved this hotel because it appeared to have everything. Location, Comfort, Costs, Great Food & Drinks, Very Friendly Staff, and the general homeliness that the hotel generated which is something that one can't buy, it's either there or it isn't and this hotel had it all. Dislikes:- None whatsoever apart from having to leave and not booking for longer.
Food was excellent, staff very friendly.. The sound proofing in the rooms could be improved.
Beautiful hotel, clean rooms and good service. Lovely breakfast!
Location suited us as we were heading for Inner Hebrides next day Reasonably set back from the road, room was quiet Good choice of food in the evening and good breakfast Our room booking was lost, so we turned up and just as well they had a space, although we had to take a twin room.
Friendly staff There had been a flood and the original en suite room booked was not available. We were give a double room with a separate private bathroom down the corridor, which was fine but I would have preferred the en suite.
This is a family run hotel and the welcome we received was second to none. The hotel was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The host was very forthcoming with information regarding places to eat and where to go in the area. Within walking distance to all amenities Would stay again if in the area. Private parking. I have no negative comments.
my daughter in law had to halve her breakfast with her husband who had arrived at the last minute and the limited time for breakfast , all guests were at a wedding and could have done with a little bit more leeway , out for 10 is a disgrace ,
The host was very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were clean and well furnished. Breakfast was excellent. If staying in the Callander area I would definitely recommend this hotel The room was quite small, little room to even put large suitcase on the floor
Nice and clean hotel with very pleasant staff The lighting in the room was not very bright
A beautiful Victorian house, superbly decorated and presented, with a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The en-suite facilities were excellent and the public rooms (lounge and breakfast room) would be hard to better, even at a considerably higher price. Wonderful hospitality too, always attentive but never obtrusive, and the cooked breakfasts were a highlight of every morning. A perfect, welcoming base for exploring this lovely area, and one we simply cannot fault.
NIce friendly reception, very helpful with regards to where to eat out. excellent breakfast and fast and efficient service. Well done.
Nice modern Hotel in great location No hot water in the afternoon
The friendly welcome, helpful staff and the lovely decor in the rooms and in the lounge / breakfast area. The breakfast was lovely too. The only issue I have is that there was a handheld shower in the bathroon which wasn't very convenient.
The hospitality of the staff was fantastic and the accomodation was perfect and comfortable. No separate shower for the ensuite room we had.
Helpfulness of the staff and also the beautiful scenery...a great spot for mountain goats like us. super alpine walks and climbs.
Relaxed friendly atmosphere. Amazing views over the Loch.
We liked visiting Inverary and surrounding towns and villages as the Arrochar hotel is perfectly situated for this.
Hotel very much in need of modernisation. Rooms were of a poor standard, member of staff in reception on arrival was very unhelpful and unpleasant.
The location is perfect!! We had no hot water for more than half our stay and only a half hearted apology from staff
friendly staff and perfect location to explore the sights in the loch long and loch lomond area.great intro to the highlands.
Staff were very friendly. Though we only had breakfast there, it was very good. The room could have been cleaner, somewhat dusty.
very helpful staff
Overall, the stay was pleasant, reasonable value and the food very good in nice surroundings. Staff polite and friendly. Nice view over loch, which I had requested. Very noisy above the function room when evening entertainment on, til around 2230. Mattress quite lumpy. Some squeaky floorboards. In need of refurb really, quite a tired feel though not unpleasant.
The staff are welcoming very helpful and hard working. This is hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment and is let down by the Oxford Group. Its stunning location and views should warrant more investment by them.
Pleasant bed- room and view Also a quiet area Arrived early 1.30 p.m.--note on door to say we could not be allowed in till 3 p.m.
Room was spacious, water hot and staff vey friendly and helpful.
The comfortable room and the friendlyness of the owners
Room was of a nice size, sky tv was good. Breakfast was varied and staff were nice. No bar
Breakfast- good choices. I prefer to have smaller tables - eight to a table is a bit like a refectory! Bed mattresses need changing. They sag.
Excellent accomodation throughout, proprietors Ashley and Rae could not have been more friendly or efficient. Breakfast was again excellent. Clenliness of guest house was excellnt well worthy of 4 star allocation. None
Lovely spacious room. Excellent breakfast served in very pleasant surroundings Lovely big bedroom with an unacceptable small double bed!
Food good, as was the room Had problems with the fan in the toilet which would not turn off & affected people in adjoining room
Central location for shops walks and points of interest. Good food and entertainment available at the hotel. Check out time was too early - 11am rather than 10am would be more suitAble
everyone we met was polite and very helpful. meals were excellent and really good value for money no parking but we managed to park car on nearby street. then short walk to entrance
The staff were friendly but other than that there was nothing to particularly like. Hotel was only adequate for a one night stay. Decoration in the hotel was very tired. Bed a bit hard, and room did not have an easy chair. Power point for kettle and hair drier close to floor. Could not have kettle on table, and could not stand in front of mirror for hair drying. Food was a disappointment given the encouraging reviews on the website.
The friendliness of staff. The breakfast was excellent. We are partially deaf and the tv in room 1 sounded very tinny to us.
Fantastic Breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, great location, clean and well maintained hotel. Highly recommended.
location was right in the town
Friendly, clean, comfortable, good food and real ale
The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were just what we needed for our stay
