Pros: Breakfast was amazing!! We ate so much we were not hungry for lunch. A wide array of choices....we had eggs, sausage, toast, yogurt, free fruit and granola. The owners were so friendly and answered all our questions about their home. Colin took us an outside tour as I wanted to see their new baby lambs. Jane recommended restaurants and had menus. She saved us driving back into Stirling for dinner by suggesting several nearby. House was lovely, so comfortable and so peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed hot tea and shortbread cookies in our room and had such an enjoyable stay...wish we had planned more than one night!
Cons: Nothing!!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow! This was one of our top 2 stays on our trip to Scotland. The estate grounds are fabulous. We enjoyed walking the gardens with their dogs, and we saw both pheasant and hares. The house itself shines with attention to detail. Hannah is the consummate hostess, warm and attentive. Our room and bathroom were both spacious and very well appointed. The breakfast was outstanding, the room looking out on the beautiful lawn. Finally, the location could not have been better. Just outside of Stirling, this is the perfect spot for a last night (or few days) before leaving Scotland (we only regret we were there just one night!). Or you could easily stay here after arriving in Scotland! You are close to St. Andrews, Edinburgh, Loch Lomond, etc. We were able to drive to the airport in Edinburgh the next morning in about 30 min. (not rush hour). Overall, this was a place to which we would love to return!

Overview Reviews
When you stay at Ravenswood Guest House in Stirling, you'll be in the suburbs, within a 5-minute drive of Stirling Castle and National Wallace Monument. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access and dry cleaning/laundry services.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional host, more than accommodating, very helpful and easy to talk to. The rooms were cosy and the layout was very well thought out. It can be noisy when trains pass the front of the house but you don't notice it with the windows closed, shutters shut and curtains drawn, additionally providing excellent black out for an afternoon snooze. An electric fan was also provided, which was particularly helpful in the stuffy summer weather for those that are hiding from pollen and dare not open a window. The rooms were clean, the toilet and shower were immaculate, and although it was an electric shower, it was easily one of the best electric showers I've used in a long time, extra points for the unrestricted shower head. A fresh locally sourced Scottish breakfast each morning, the eggs were very tasty, along with the freshly baked bread, a great start to the day. There was a handy fridge outside the room stocked with free local beer and bottled water and more than enough room if you needed to keep something for the next day. The endless supply of complimentary tea cakes was also very much appreciated, I will definitely recommend to anyone passing through Stirling for an overnight.
Cons: Nothing at all, all good.

Pros: Gillian was warm and friendly. The house was nice and the room had everything you would need. There were also nice little touches like the Whisky and chocolates left in the lounge/ breakfast room for guests to enjoy at night.
Cons: The property is on a main road and we were in the front room, so there was traffic noise. It is also opposite train tracks, although trains apparently don’t go by after 10.30pm. Because of the traffic noise we didn’t want to open the window ( which did muffle the noise), so the room got a bit stuffy. This is probably less of a problem if you stay in the back rooms. It is about a 20 minute walk into town- which was ok for us but might be a bit far for others.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room, on the ground floor, away from the main road. About 25-min walk to city centre and Stirling castle. Hotel parking.
Cons: Dark bathroom. There could have been more wall plugs to charge your devices.

Cons: Can't really think of anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is in a gorgeous location sitting on the shore of the Lake of Menteith. You can sit outside and enjoy your food and drink in beautiful, natural surroundings. The food was delicious and the staff were so helpful I would recommend this hotel to anyone either travelling around Scotland or who would like to get away from it all for a few days.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located in an amazing place in front of a Lake. The bed was very comfortable. The room has their own coffee machine and every day you found a couple of chocolates. The breakfast was homemade and delicious.
Cons: In front of our window we had a big black pipe, it did noise all day from 7.30 to 22.30 h. So it was as very annoying surprise to have that noise all day long. Breakfast service is delicious but it is slow, if you hurry because you have to go somewhere for an excursion, tell them because it took us more than 30 minuts to have the food on the table.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is sublime. The restaurant is superb. The staff were helpful and friendly.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fantastic, with complimentary continental options and delicious cooked fare. The building is stunning and superbly appointed. The location is ideal for the city. But best of all were the staff who were welcoming, accommodating, helpful, charming and professional.
Cons: We didn't have a bath, but I didn't mind that. Access would be tricky for someone with restricted mobility but it's an old building and I suppose it is what it is.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A really lovely place breakfast was very good beds very comfortable carpark at back def would stay here again
Cons: Everything was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to downtown and the castle. Very comfortable rooms. The bedding and pillows were great. The bathroom had good room and I had the best shower. The food at the resteraunt was fantastic. And the staff were amazing. They were able to get us simple starters before we sat down as we had an hour wait(only because we did not pre book dinner which I recommend if staying here.). If I go back to Stirling i would look here as a place to stay.
Cons: Very picky but it was hot and there were no fans to cool you off. Even with the windows open. There really isn't much to complain about.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Don't ever book a budgetroom! We were staying at room Kilbrek, the room was located underneath the ladies toilets, you cannot get any sleep before 1.00 am! Never stayed in a hotel room that was this noisy! It was going on and on, very disturbing, seems like elephants were walking above your head. Staff was friendly, nice location, but the noise spoiled a lot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb staff, very attentive and friendly you feel there’s nothing that would be too much trouble. Can’t remember ever going somewhere where every member of staff was so customer focused and lovely! The room was huge, very comfortable bed and nicely decorated with contemporary furniture. Dinner was very enjoyable as was breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room, nice bar area, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Cons: The breakfast food cupboard was next to our room (unlocked) and food bits were all over the carpet. Cleaner having a telephone conversation outside our room at 8am wasn't very welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about Allan Park hotel was excellent.
Cons: The only downside was that our room overlooked and was on the same level as the car park, unavoidable though if the hotel is full.

Pros: The room was very comfortable with lots of windows to open for a cool night's sleep. The shower was large and a wonderful experience in the morning. Breakfast was made to order and deicious. Staff were friendly and happy to do anything to improve our stay. Food was of a high standard. We would happily stay there again.
Cons: There was nothing we did not like!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a brilliant "hidden gem"! It was an overnight stop on our journey north through Scotland. The pub wasn't open when we arrived but we were welcomed in, shown our lovely room and immediately offered a drink from the bar. Down we went with the intention of having a quick one before back to the room - however, the beer was very good, the company was friendly, one turned in to several then dinner was served. The food was excellent, and, as an added bonus, live music from the local band (The Average White Van Band!!) - catch them if you can!! A tremendous stop over - highly recommended!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved the cosy, traditional feel of this 1;th century inn.
Cons: It was a little noisy in the evening as our room aeemed to e directly above thw kitchen.

Cons: Nothing, rooms were warm but that’s no ones fault

Cons: having to leave
7.5 Good
Pros: Very good central location. Good b'fst with very helpful friendly staff!! Really welcoming chap on reception when we arrived Fri late aft. Clean room.
Cons: We all felt the rooms and overall decor/look of the place was rather basic! No chairs in one bedroom, until some were moved in! No proper wardrobe in double room and no proper hanging space in there either. Curtains were falling off the curtain rails in both bedrooms ! No shelf for bathroom items in one bedroom. Very small pce of soap and no shower caps. No extra blanket in room if needed, although this would only apply in the winter. Window would only stay open if a towel was put in the gap to keep it open at night! Needs fixing so it stays open! Fire drill instructions on door were not applicable to the correct location of the room so this was a safety matter! Could really do with making overall appearance a LOT better! Some plants etc and making rooms cosier, more welcoming would really help a lot!!!
