I prepaid but was forced to buy standard liability insurance despite me telling them I have my own insurance and declining it. The lady said it is mandatory in Texas. Came to know that was a lie. Also I booked with Visa credit card and it offers same,

This is one of the worst car rental experiences I’ve had. Kayak is terrible to get to. In spite of all the push ads I’ve received from them they have not responded and customer service telephone numbers give out wrong information and Europcar refuses to attend to my rental agreement changes stating that I’ve booked a 3rd party such as Kayak. So you guys do not add value. You just make life more difficult for car renters

Staff were friendly and helpful. New spotless car Get the full insurance coverage there - less hassle, especially if someone scratches your car in a car park.

Terrible experience, I arrived 30 mins late because of a flight delay. I attempted to contact Europcar several times with no answer. Upon arrival I was told “we gave your car away because we didn’t think you were coming”.

Everything was good, except the pick-up was disaster, it took from me almost 45 min to finish my procees with them at Hertz Abu Dhabi office, they took very long time with each client, and there was an employee there totally unprofessional (his name is Zia).

For a very small dent in the below of the front bumper they charged me a 598 AED and they didn’t deduct it from the deposit money and didn’t take my authority to do that and even they didn’t send me an invoice

Car type was changed to lower tier and they promised they will change it and no one called to do so

Pros:

Not much. Easier than renting from DXB, but that's really more of a credit to Abu Dhabi's airport than anything Avis.

Cons:

They called a hatchback an "SUV". It was tiny and had over 30K km on it so it didn't drive very well. Additionally at drop off the traffic made me 30 mins late and they charged me a FULL day! Not even an hourly rate or anything. Absurd. Customer service was very poor both at pickup & dropoff. Never again Avis, never again.

The car they gave me had a whistle sound while breaking this means that the brake pads and rotorsee needs to be changed. That's a safety issues and this won't make me rent a car with avis again. My reservation number was #09681320US5
