6.0 Okay
Pros:It was a great price for the length of stay and time of year.
Cons:When chose our car online, we were told a "Rav-4" or similar. This implied a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive car. Apparently, many other people also understood this to mean that they would get a 4-wheel capable car, as they all expected one when we showed up to the desk as a group. However, the clerk immediately informed everyone they would get a 2-wheel drive SUV, in the middle of a snowstorm in the mountains when each person was under the impression of a 4-wheel drive car. This was extremely poor and misleading advertising. We kind of got lucky. The clerk gave us an all-wheel drive Highlander. However, upon inspection of the car, it didn't have a license plate. The clerk made us feel stupid by implying that we had missed the paper tag of a new vehicle, however the vehicle had nothing. Eventually, the clerk relented and gave us a different vehicle: a giant toyota sequoia. While this is a 4-wheel drive vehicle, it was giant and ungainly. They gave us a set of three keys and 2 remotes. All five pieces were held together on an un-removable metal chain. It was ridiculous, and when we wanted split the keys among two drivers, we couldn't.

Pros:The car itself was great.
Cons:The car cost significantly more than quoted. We requested an SUV in Jackson Hole during the winter. Once we got to the location we were told the car we paid for not 4 wheel drive and because of the snow it was illegal to drive a 2 wheel drive car without chains. Therefore we were left with no option but to upgrade to a 4X4 for more than double the original price.

Pros:Car was clean
Cons:Rental location was very far from the airport - 25min shuttle ride. Car seats available for kids were old and beat up and employees didn't know much about them.

Cons:I rented 2 4-wheel-drive SUV's -- one medium SUV, one full-sized SUV. They claimed they didn't the medium SUV in a 4-wheel drive setup. They charged me an extra $290 to get a 4 wheel drive and I had to upgrade to a full-sized car. They also claimed they didn't have another full-sized SUV in a 4-wheel drive setup. They then found one they said was going to cost me an extra $200. That is a total of $490 extra above the quoted costs. At that point in time -- during the week between Christmas and New Years -- there were no other cars available -- which of course they knew -- so we had no choice but to pay for their unfair and deceptive switch. This is a clear case of "Bait and Switch," which is called a "Deceptive Trade Practice" in Massachusetts, punishable by triple damages, court costs, and attorneys fees. We rented in Wyoming, so I don't know how the Laws of Wyoming treat it. I will contact the Attorney General of Wyoming and see if it is a Deceptive Trade Practice there as well. We inspected both cars upon renting them. The one I was driving had a nick in the windshield and a 3-4 inch scratch in the side, and pock marked front bumper. They initially refused to mark those defects, saying, we don't worry about anything smaller than 2.5 inches. I pointed out that the scratch was 3 to 4 inches long. I insisted they mark them, and over my adamant insistence, they finally marked them. They then supposedly mixed up the two cars on the paperwork, where are names were on the wrong contracts. They said they would fix the paperwork. When my daughter picked up the other car, she also CAREFULLY inspected her car, and did not find ANY defects. When she returned her car, she reinspected her car and found no defects. She asked for a re-inspection, but they refused to do a post-rental inspection. She had to catch her plane, so she had to leave. Two days after returning home, she got notice the windshield of her car had a nick in it. WHAT A FRAUD THEY ARE!!!
