Pros:I liked the convenience of booking in advance at what seemed like an excellent fare. Too bad it was all wrong.
Cons:The insurance that I was sold online did not meet the local requirements. When I arrived I was told that my 4 day rental would go from <$50 to $180. The required insurance was over $110 and and was not mentioned until arrival at the counter. I was also charged $5 for gas eventhough I returned it with more fuel than it had when I picked it up. Charged for an additional driver and was told that it was standard regardless of how many people would be driving. Generally felt scammed.

Cons:I was quoted $42.00 for three days. When I got to the counter was told it would be $162.00. I refuse to be ripped off so I did not complete the transaction.

Alamo as some others on their groups are nothing but thieves. They scam me from a luxury car to a cheap one claiming that AMEX didn’t cover insurance for the luxury car while holding in their hands a letter from them stating that I was covered. But still charged me the luxury car rate blaming on Kayak taking their share off the top first. In other words they pretty much said not to use Kayak at all. I wouldn’t recommend Alamo or any of their affiliates to a dog. I’m not the first one they’ve done this to.

They insisted on adding coverages which I declined. They wouldn’t give me the car. I was “forced” to accept them. Made the price double.

Cons:I dont understand why web page request to buy an insurance and then Alamo doesn´t accept it. No entiendo pq la pagina web te sugiere tomar un seguro el cual luego ALAMO no lo acepta y toca comprar un nuevo seguro. Why ALAMO said that works 24 hours and his counter close at 11 pm and they dont said where to pick p the car. Other Rental Car company give me the car. Por que Alamo dice que abre 24 horas y cierra las 11 y no informa que se debe hacer. El carro me lo dio otra compañia.

Cons:I thought I was getting a good deal when I made my reservation. Little did I know that there was a NON-NEGOTIABLE additional insurance plan that added up to $20 extra per day -- I found this out when I handed them my previously booked online reservation. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to pay, since I needed the car for my trip. Over my 8 days, that was $160 dollars more than I thought I would be paying when I reserved online. FALSE ADVERTISING.

Pros:The car was newer
Cons:We arrived and was told they we didn't have a reservation confirmation. I showed her on my phone that we did. Then was told the price would be higher than the $165.00 I booked and after discussing the price we finally agreed to $192.00 all inclusive for 4 days. The printed sheet showed a price of $238.00 dollars and when I brought this up, the girl said it was only an example and she said "I promise, it is only $192.00." When we brought the car back the price then exploded to $286.00. WHAT A RIP OFF! Never again Alamo. Check other rental agencies first, and even call from the US to get a firm price. I have rented cars all over the world and this was my worst experience.
