Lovely hostel with great facilities. Staff were superb, attentive, and positive. Perfect location, amazing staff. Clean room, great staff, great location. Amazing location on the edge of a beautiful park yet in the center of Amsterdam. Loved the facilities available of the restaurant, coffee shop, bar, and locker services. It was also super clean and had nice modern decor. Had really comfortable nights sleep, I can’t fault the rooms and hostel. Staff were also very helpful and friendly!
The staffs’ service and room cleanliness. The bunk beds were a shock. Do not offer shower amenities. Small room, expensive during the Christmas holidays. It was noisy at night, but given we stayed on a weekend it’s to be expected. The only thing that I don’t like is that they have changed the long stay policy, you can now stay there only for a maximum of 7 nights, when I stayed there before it used to be that you could stay many weeks even months. There could be some sort of isolation between the beds and bathroom areas. And bring your own pillows if you are picky with that like me. Too many pre-arrival messages. Having to check out and check in again after adding an extra night to the booking but understandable. The space was minimal, the environment among the guests or the staff was very cold. Guests were mean and it didn’t feel comfortable to be in the room. Lots of money for a disappointing experience. Wi-fi is average not too good and most of the guests are young so should not expect quiet so much. The mattress and pillow was paper thin. The mattress was more like the cushion you have on an outdoor chair & the pillow was more like an outdoor cushion. In the reception they told us, do not eat in the room, there is place to eat in the reception. When we tried to eat our own cookies, we have understood that it is also forbidden to bring our own food. They obliged us to buy food in their own cafe. If it was the case, that would be good to know in advance. My locker in the room was loud and probably woke people up in the middle of the night. The fire alarm going off. The foam mattresses could have been more comfortable but were not bad. Earplugs are a good idea just because there are no carpets. I slept in a dorm for 10 people. The room was super packed and small. They didn’t refill the toilet paper and the showers really could have been cleaner. My friend stayed in a 4 people dorm though and she didn’t have these problems. It’s also pretty expensive. other places you would pay that kind of money for a hotel room but I guess that’s normal in Amsterdam, especially during the ADE. 10+ room means 20 people. Good to know. Staff came in to clean our rooms thinking we were checking out the day before we we're supposed to. Staff was rude, their hostel is in shambles and feedback is wasted. Lack of privacy in dormitory Proportion of toilets to people in dormitory. Even after confirming me they didn't update their system with my requirement for lower bed and ended up assigning mixed room with all men who snored all night. Next day I had to check out put my things in locker, wait n check in again at 3pm to female dorm. No shared kitchen and common facility. No outside food n drink allowed in the small common area. that people did not respect my bed number. A very small room for 8 people. Ventilation and cleaning is not good. When collecting the sheets, they throw them on the floor, it is not hygienic. Closets are very small. I will never stay again.
