Pros: Where do we start! From the moment we arrived after a 9 hour motorbike ride from Venice, hot & covered in mosquito bites, Giancarlo & Adriana treated us like long lost family. They are 2 of the nicest people we have ever met and we can never thank them enough for their hospitality. Caterina was also amazing and helped to translate for us due to our embarrassing lack of Italian! The house is fantastic, old but beautifully decorated with so much character and it’s elevated position gives stunning views all across the valley. The eco pool was the icing on the cake, absolutely stunning & a credit to Giancarlo, it really is very special and we loved swimming in it surrounded by all the nature that Italy has to offer. We will never forget our short stay at La Ciminiera & hope to return one day for a longer visit. If we could give this place 11/10 we would :)
Cons: Absolutely nothing to dislike!
Pros: From the moment we checked in, Caterina, and the owners, Adriana and Giancarlo, made us feel right at home. Fatigued from our drive from Orvieto, Adriana asked if we would like something. We said that a cup of tea would be nice. A few minutes later there was a knock on our door; Adriana with a beautiful tray of tea with a bowl of bisccotti. The building was Giancarlo's dream renovation of his family home, and what an artist he is! The stone work is magnificent, decorated with amazing antiques and family heirlooms and artwork. Our room was spacious and bed comfortable; the breakfast is served in an enclosed patio room with a wide variety of foods, including amazing pastries from the bakery in Staffolo. There would always be a surprise when exploring the grounds. Besides the stunning view of the surrounding countryside, we found a Roman bath complete with frescoes, enough patio space to hold a wedding, and the bio lake, Giancarlo's crowning achievement. In fact, we spent one full day of our stay just relaxing by the lake, enjoying the peace and tranquility. We came as guests, but when it came time to leave after 4 days, we left as family.
Pros: Fantastic setting overlooking the hills of Le Marche. Wonderful hosts. Traditional Italian furnishings, beautifully kept grounds, and a fabulous breakfast. At the tail end of September the weather was turning otherwise I'd have tried out both swimming pools.
Cons: All perfect.
Pros: The owners Arianna and John Carlo were exceptional hosts and could not do enough to insure our comfort with hand drawn maps for day trips and deliciously prepared breakfast. The property was exquisite and the rooms well maintained. This is the Italian hospitality from the old days where your comfort is their comfort!
Cons: We did not like having to leave.
Pros: The people the most. Just lovely and they made you feel like part of the family. The place itself is super quirky and the eco pool is so cool. There is also an amazing "Roman Bath" type room that we didn't use - but also looks really great.
Cons: You couldn't really walk to restaurants or to the nearby town. The closest town is only a 3-minute drive away.
Pros: The whole property was absolutely beautiful. If you want to truly experience the Italian countryside this is stunning! The rooms were clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The bio lake and gardens were gorgeous, we spent one whole afternoon just relaxing by the pool because it was so beautiful looking over the hills and vineyards. I don’t know what to say about our hosts except they totally made our trip. They are the kindest, sweetest, most accommodating couple. Our every need was take care of. They gave us excellent recommendations to restaurants in the area where we ate the best food we had on our entire trip. They even had a bottle of wine waiting for us at one restaurant. They also recommended winery’s and day trips. This was the Italy I wanted to experience. On our departure day we were leaving very early to go to the airport so we told them not to worry about breakfast. When we came downstairs a delicious breakfast was all set out and they were their to say goodbye. Needless to say a few tears were shed when we left. They are just remarkable! I will never forget them or their lovely country home.
Pros: The staff and owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. They booked restaurant, activities and recommended beaches and helped us with anything we needed. Can’t recommend them enough.
Pros: The owners Adrianna and Giancarlo made us so very welcome and this is a very special and unique place to stay. Very peaceful, immaculately clean and with a stunningly beautiful eco-lake which was a fantastic experience to swim in such fresh warm water and to be surrounded by pure beauty and nature. Highly recommend - this is a truly wonderful and genuine Italian experience!

Isabelle and Erik realised their Italian dream in the Region The Marches, Italians best kept secret. They restored an old farmhouse in Cupramontana into an idyllic place. Sleeping under ancient beams, taking breakfast with the stunning view on the Marchiganian hills and the mountain Monte San Vicino, swinging slowly in the hammocks under the fragrant acacia trees, swimming in our pool. La Girandola is the right place to be! We have 3 guestrooms and one selfcatering apartment, surrounded by a garden (0,5 ha.) and a pool. Pros: I liked the structure of the property and the owners were very kind and accommodating. Location was perfect for my needs. Also the owners were very nice with my dog.
Cons: Unfortunately the room had a musty smell to it. I realize that it is an old farm house with thick walls - thus has a tendency to hold humidity but it doesn’t make the place as charming as it is due to this fact.

Our hosts had provided everything necessary for a comfortable stay, with attention to detail. E.g there were plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobe. I appreciated being able to make myself a cup of tea first thing in the morning. The towels were fresh and clean each day. The property is charming with a stunning view of the surrounding countryside. Our host shared his knowledge of the region freely and gave helpful advice when we went on excursions.
Cons: I would have been happy occasionally to linger in the garden and read a book but there was no obvious seating area.
Pros: The view is unbelievable. The people who run it are very kind.
Pros: I liked the fact that the entire unit was a lot bigger than I expected. Plenty of room for my bags and stuff once I unpacked everything!
