The Avis system was down and we were unable to pick up our rental. The Avis airport staff were not helpful. We had to call Avis ourselves to cancel the rental. We were charged the full price and then refunded only a portion of the fees. They owe us $100. We’ve not been able to get a complete refund as the Avis telephone team couldn’t locate our reservation to help! Horrible. Clerk at the counter unknowledgeable wanting to charge additional driver fee for spouse. Contrary to own website info + Avis agent on the phone. Clerk at counter was argumentative and adamant that "policy" is different for Canada yet was unable to provide clear black and white evidence of such policy. Canadian Avis site is murky in description for additional driver. The contradiction between the Clerk at the counter and the agent on the phone, both working for Avis was enough for us to walk away and rent from another company.Reviewed Mar 19 2026

So i arriving at the rental company before they opened that morning. 5 minutes before they opened they called me to tell me they did not have a car for me and they had over booked. I then was stuck in Grand Junction because of this rental that i had reserved did not exist. I will never use avis again and i am questioning future reservations with kayak as well. If you don't have the car don't make the reservation vs calling and canceling on the person the morning of. Thanks great service Avis it was going to be $505 for a one day rental and you still screwed me over.Reviewed Mar 19 2026

If the guy who dealt with parking when I returned the car had something more clear to prove that he works for Avis would be good otherwise I doubt if it was a good idea to hand the car keys to that person. Otherwise everything was smooth and really good. Thanks to staff and AvisReviewed Mar 19 2026

The check-in line to get the car was very long. I waited 45 minutes and was lucky because I got in line while my partner got the luggage. The people behind me waited much longer. One man sent his wife to see if it could be faster to get a car from a different company. They did finally add a third person to speed things up a bit.
