When picking up the car, I was told the price would be almost double what I was told would be the total when I booked the car. I told the lady at the Avis rental counter that I didn’t want the insurance since I had purchased insurance through Kayak. She said she could see that. When I asked why the price was so different she said it was airport fees and said I needed to sign the agreement. I felt pressure to sign and I should not have but I did. Come to find out on my receipt that she did put the insurance on my agreement even though I told her I didn’t want it. When I reached out to Avis customer service they told me that since I signed the agreement they wouldn’t do anything about it.Reviewed Jul 27 2026

I booked a car online for collection at Wagga Wagga Airport, and the entire process was quick and hassle-free. When we arrived, the young lady at the counter was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful, and our car was ready to go. Returning the vehicle was just as easy. We parked it in the designated area at the airport and dropped the keys at the Avis desk without any issues. Overall, everything went smoothly from start to finish. The excellent customer service and efficient process made for a great experience, and I would happily rent from Avis again.Reviewed Jul 27 2026

You had the wrong address listed. The wrong company also. It had been bought out by Unidas and I had no one telling me that so i wandered around the airport for an hour trying to figure out what to do before i found out from some random information clerk that my rental was with Unidas. Then instead of the $50 i was quoted by your site I ended up paying $260 because your site failed to tell me about the cost associated with dropping the car off in a different city. And then to add insult to injury your site wouldnt let me extend the booking by a day.Reviewed Jul 27 2026

Wrong pick up address - they moved 4 months ago to a new location and the address remains the same. I was forced to pay a 50% fee for protection at pick up, otherwise they wouldn't let me take the car - that practice is against Brazilian law called "Venda casada". They closed at noon on Saturday and Sunday, so even though my drop off was supposed to be until 4pm, I showed up there at 1pm and they were closed, forcing me to pay for an additional day - that wasn't disclosed to me at pick up or anywhere for that matter. Unidas represents Avis in Santos and it's ruining Avis' name. I would NEVER rent from either one ever again! Worst experience ever!Reviewed Jul 27 2026

Couldn't utilize a debit card for rental and was stranded for hours with children. The first customer service person tried to help. Unfortunately he left and the second was nothing but rude.Reviewed Jul 26 2026

We had to wait for 20-30 minutes for the car during pickup, but overall experience was smooth, car was clean and return was very quick and easy. Instructions were clear before and during stay , had no difficulty following Instructions for pickup and dropping. Thank youReviewed Jul 26 2026

My issue wasn't with Avis exactly. My issue is with Kayak and the rental Kayak directed me to using QEEQ. The pricing is deceptive. The voucher I received from QEEQ showed $808.96 as my prepaid amt and the amount due at pick up as CAD$0.00. No where did I see $808.96 identified as USD. So when Avis charged $1,141.94, I thought I had been overcharged, charged an undisclosed fee, or something else. When I spoke to the QEEQ person today, she used USD for the $80.96 and stated "which is exactly the amount you were charged." I asked her how I was supposed to know that amt was in USD when it wasn't designated that way. She didn't really have a good answer for me. She did not point me to any place in other documentation that would have informed me this was USD. I get that I should have noticed one showed CAD and one did not, but I didn't pay attention to that. Why should I have to figure that out? Why can't Kayak and QEEQ make it very CEAR what the price is? This is why I said Kayak and QEEQ are deceptive in the advertised price. It is not that there is a blatant lie about the cost, but it is lacking CLEAR labeling of what currency is being used so there is NO question about the price. I will be much more careful in the future when choosing booking options. I will probably avoid Kayak and QEEQ in the future because of this negative experience which I evaluate as NOT forthright and honest in dealing with customers. Again, was it a blatant lie? No, but certainly deceptive. And in the end, I did not save any money. I would have spent basically the same amount if I worked directly with the rental company I will give kudos and great appreciation to the young man working the Avis counter where we picked up the car. Although I had based my selection on 2 passengers and 5 bags, he said the car we were supposed to get would NOT accommodate all of our luggage. So he gave a small upgrade. Even at that, we had to put half of our stuff in the backseat. I appreciated his customer service, trying to make it better for us. I appreciated his friendliness.Reviewed Jul 25 2026
