Clean, nice updated rooms, very friendly staff. Easy on/off of the highway. Nice simple basic hotel. Very good value for money compared with other options.
The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and even let us borrow a snow brush for our car!
The only things I can say we liked were the shuttle service to the airport and the price of the room. The rooms were small and dirty. The rooms were not sound proof at all. We listened to a baby cry down the hall half the night.
This was a good basic hotel, and an excellent vaue for the money. I didn't have a lot of needs, but those I had were met. I rate mattresses by the extent to which my back hurts when I wake up in the morning. The mattress at Super 8 was OK, but not great. Someone without my back issues might regard it as fine. I also would have liked a larger toilet. Again, not a biggee.
Close to everything we wanted, great value for my money, great staff. Very clean. Bed was a little uncomfortable.
Rooms were clean and tidy The heater was off when we arrived. It took a few hours to heat on a very cold day
The staff was great and the bed where comfortable room was clean and put together well That they didn't have shampoo or conditioners and not enough wash cloths we only had two wash cloths not enough need like four
Room was not clean. There was a terrible fight at 4am that took several hours for anyone to address.
They allow pets and the lady who checked us in was very nice. Though it was non-smoking, I could smell cigarette smoke, I didn't sleep well, there was a complete feeling of unclean, I didn't want the bedding near my face, it just felt like it had not been washed and some of the people we saw checking in were a little strange. There was garbage around the dumpster outside, the grass had not been cut, the towels were very small and the pillows were flat, hard to sleep on. It needs a good complete cleaning and the no-smoking policy needs to be enforced.
Location to Syracuse University was good. The smell! When first entered the smell of orange used to mask odors was so strong it was gagging! That wore off and all you could smell was old nasty stale cigarette smoke. It was so bad it was hard to sleep. Also beware, no iron, hair dryer or shampoo in the room.
I like the fact we didn't die The fact we where not only in a room by the desk where the lady running it was clearly doing drug deals but the fact our room was right by the stair well also This hotel is dirty and nasty and down right scary to stay at
The fact that I did get a refund for the second and third days. The Non-Smoking Room reeked of smoke to the point that I needed to purchase an air freshener. The toilet and fan did not work. The bathroom was dirty.
The front desk staff was friendly. Complications with billing unresolved after two weeks of unanswered emails. After checking out early, I was billed for the unused nights TWICE. Emails to the hotel have not been answered, and overcharge has not been resolved.
The place was clean and the night staff was very accommodating -- I had made a mistake in my (supposed to be non-refundable) online booking and they helped move my reservation to that same night and keep my low price. The staff were friendly and were also welcoming of my little dog too. My only disappointment is that when we stay at a Super 8 my daughter hopes for the waffle maker and there are no waffles here. So as long as you don't need the waffles, go for it!
location and price, but even price was too high for what you get. it felt dirty and air conditioning sucked in the smoker's smoke as the other guests sat near by smoking - as rooms were 'non-smoking', so had to sit outside room to smoke. Closet space was near non-existing.
Called ahead of time and asked if my room would have a mini fridge, they said yes. Got there and there was no mini fridge. Some damage to the walls, looked like water damage. In the morning house keeping was knocking way before check out time.
Breakfast was pleasant surprise. Dirty and mustyTile floors were filthy. Ruined a pair of socks due to the dirty floors.AC in room smelled moldyToilet ran all night.Stains on comforter, sheets, and bedspread. The staff did change the sheets on request.
The only thing I liked about this hotel was when I got there they had my room key and paperwork ready and when I had a complaint they had everything taken care of. However I will never stay there again because I was poked by an injection needle while getting in bed with my 4 year old daughter. I will never know if that needle was clean or dirty but I had to see a doctor and now I have to take a yearly HIV/AIDS test.
They preheated the room for me before I arrived which was wonderful when coming out of a cold Syracuse storm. The staff was always available when I called or went to the desk. The room was well cleaned during my stay. The room had everything I needed. My sink got clogged on the first night. Both the sink and the bath tub drained incredibly slowly. There was no vending machine in the second building (despite signs indicating there were) so I had to go out in the snow to the first building to find a machine. Even then, the machine only had food and no drinks. It was hard to control the heating system and I would wake up multiple times to readjust the settings.
The man at the desk was apologetic and made notes of my complaints. Needs major renovating overall, tub was clogged, faucet leaked, alarm clock was broken, no bath mat or hand towels, not comfortable.
Clean and cheap. Smelled a bit old, musty. Gave our clothes a moth ball smell.
Literally the only room available in the area at the time. Management does clean somewhat. The price was jacked up because of the high demand. Price gouging. Terrible smoke fumes. Everything is old worn and dated. Circa 1980 pink fixtures. Didn't understand why guests were loitering outside. Access to ice machine is through a hole cut in the wall with a door on it. Property requires serious investment to make it palatable.
