I will say, "You get what you pay" for is an understatement. The reviews state a restaurant on site, no there is not. Complementary breakfast is not available. I was over sold by the accommodation's reviews and listed conveniences for traveling from a distance.
The worst hotel i have every stayed at in my life. Well let me phrase it differently. ...I never stayed. I left immediately. No refund bit at least I didn't get bed bugs and was not robbed or solicited by drug dealers or prostitutes.
The staff was friendly Cloths under bed and in dresser. Water temp in shower kept going up and down in short period.
Nothing Extremely run down. Looks condemned.
worn out,need to be repaired.
The facilities were dingy and in need of repair. The room had an unpleasant odor. The morning staff was pleasant and friendly, but that did not make up for the shoddy facilities. Large room, comfortable bed, large bath, cookies in lobby, good free breakfast. Hot tub broke.
It made me nervous that the light in the pool was floating on the water instead of being attached to the pool wall.
Good location Good hot water shower Room is in terrible condition Broken smoke alarm Heater/AC looks like it was attacked with a sledge hammer Chipped/peeling paint Stained carpet, bed linens and furniture Noisy exhaust fan
it meets the expectations of a $85 a night place
Location Hotel old. Dated. Not Very Clean.
We enjoyed everything. The room was very nice. The bed and bedding so comply. Loved the big shower. Also really enjoyed the room service, the food was fresh and hot. That we couldn't stay longer.
Clean, well-priced, comfortable No complaints!
Issues were not dealt with properly

The location was great for how close it was to St. Joseph and the interstate. Very friendly staff at the front desk. Breakfast was good. Bathroom was small for the size of the room
The hotel was very clean. It was very spacious with fridge and microwave. The breakfast was delicious. It was et friendly which was important to us to bring our little guy. There were many food places near by and also short drive to beach.
A clean room and friendly staff. Brief interactions with staff when necessary and an expedited check in/out process. The door to the room was a bit short allowing quite a bit of light to shine underneath. Nothing a folded towel couldn't fix, however.
The hotel was fantastic for the price that was paid. The room was clean and spacious. My room was right next to the area where they serve breakfast so although I went to sleep at 11:00, I was woke up at 3:45AM from all the loud banging. It continued throughout the night and made my stay less than pleasant.
Location to my meeting. The breakfast was not up par compared to other hotels I've visited
The wall is thin. Can hear upstairs customer walking all night

Good clean property and guest rooms. There is a fireplace in the lobby. One of the main power outlets at the work desk had a short in it.
Rooms were nice a spacious. Price. Definately overpriced. The pool was freezing cold and the hotub was even colder. ONly had one jet working in the hottub but that was ok because it was so cold you didnt want to stay in it. We went for a short one night stay and was disappointed.
The staff that I had encountered was friendly and courteous. Everyone was very helpful and seemingly glad you were staying there. One of the people in our party had their wallet stolen out of there room. The hotel took the appropriate actions and was helpful in righting the problem.
We were in town two nights for a funeral with two young children who were not in the mood to travel, but we made it through with the help of the staff at harbor shores who were respectful and accomodating. They performed a few gestures for us that were not part of the formal policy, and we were grateful for the help. Food was good too, the veggie scramble for breakfast was excellent.
Nice and clean and quiet. All of the staff was very polite, cheerful and helpful!
The restaurant was good Staff not trained not helpful no towels at pool too many kids pool is a large tub at best. Will never stay again.
We wanted to find a place to stay while touring the wineries in the SW corner of Michigan, and this turned out to be a very good location. The hotel is right off the highway, making driving to the wine trail easier. It was also about a 5-10 minute drive from downtown St. Joes's, with all its little shops and restaurants. The hotel itself was fine. Nothing fancy, but it had all of the general amenities we needed: bed, A/C, TV, refrigerator, microwave. And it included a continental breakfast. There were a few restaurants nearby, which got us through the weekend. Again, nothing fancy though. The area is near a mall/shopping center, so there are a lot of chains.
Location close to highway and shopping if need a Wal-Mart for supplies or McDonald's for food. No elevator that I saw for use with kids and luggage.
Staff was attentive; caring; room clean. I would stay again Lighting seemed a bit dim
The room was really clean! Smelled fresh. Breakfast was delicious! Very convenient to go to shops in downtown St Joseph. Convenient to Silver Beach area. Not enough electric outlets in the room. The loud music coming from the in hotel bar kept us awake. The sink had a drip in the bathroom. 4" of water to stand in during the shower.
Very close to the lake Whenever my girlfriend and I arrived the staff was in no rush to attend to us. We sat at the counter waiting while a man just sat there behind it completely ignoring us. He didn't say a word until another staff member mentioned us. I got an alert on my phone later that night saying I was charged a second time for my one night stay. I went downstairs to work it out, and there was a different worker down there. I showed him on my phone from where it double charged me and he said it would be an easy fix. Here I am a couple weeks later and I still haven't gotten the refund I was guaranteed.
The hotel was in a great location and provided a good place to stay for a wedding we were attending. It is writhing walking distance to the awesome Lake Michigan and the beach as well as many restaurants. The price wasn't too bad for a king size bed and a room with a balcony. The room did have a funky smell to it like it had previously been a smoking room. The breakfast was decent but not the best. Overall the price was a bit more expensive than I found the hotel to be worth but the location sells it I guess.
The location is in easy walking distance (1 block) to the small quaint business district. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach. Parking lot behind hotel was also convenient to go in and out. I reserved online 6 months ahead as I needed a suite for our toddler to sleep in the second room. The reception staff prepared to have me sign into a "standard king" room; not what I booked (and paid for 6 months earlier). They stated that they could not "give" me a suite for what I paid online. I would have to accept a standard room. I let them know that this was completely unacceptable and started to call Kayak, when they put me into a suite. They had an attitude that I was "ripping them off". We got a suite that was marginally clean. We had cleaning service 0 times for our 4 day stay. The front desk staff (perhaps the manager) was seen arguing with other guests checking in about what he "just could not do" for them. I had low expectations so I knew location was the only perk. I grew up in this town and will not stay there again.
The hotel is in a great location. The rooms were large and the staff was nice. Rooms seemed to be clean. The hotel is quite old and tired. The breakfast was subpar.
Location was amazing and easily accessible to shops, restaurant and beach. Just average rooms and facilities. Morning breakfast left much to be desired.
Facilities were nice. Close to shopping & restaurants. Price was excessive for a Holiday Inn Express.
Up to date, clean and spacious rooms. Every room has a Kouric coffee maker. Good breakfast. Very friendly staff.
The hotel is close to family in the area. We booked a family suite that has a separate room to place the baby (we had to supply the Pack-n-Play as we could no reserve one; first come basis). The set-up is perfect. There are also twin bunks for older children. A Play station in the room for older kids. There is a decent breakfast included, although seating limited if slightly busy. Free parking. If you want to minimize noise, get a room on the third floor. Second straight year (Christmas) with kids running around on the floor above. The floors seem to amplify the noise. The last day was miserable weather with wind and sleet. The power went out and they had no back up plan. No generator, just flashlights to wander the darkness to pack up and leave. You cannot predict weather, but they could have a back up plan. The staff was friendly, but had no options to offer. Just refund the last night and take the baby back into the weather to find another place to stay.
The hotel is easy access and overlooking Lake Michigan. I had one of the rooms facing the lake. Beautiful view even in the winter. Short easy drive to St. Joe. Clean facility and friendly staff. Cons: the rooms could be better soundproofed. The noise was more like an inexpensive motel, and for the price it should be better soundproofed. There were some challenges. They were renovating rooms strong unpleasant paint smell. One elevator was not reliable (there are two) but they didn't mention the second one at the other end, learned that from fellow traveler. Key card kept failing. These may be isolated instances, but if others experience similar situations and don't mention it, they could be on going.
When traveling out of my country to stay in another I expect that my choice of stay is pleasant, comfortable and affordable, however in this case it was not any of those things. Mind I didn't expect it to be the "Hilton" however for 80$ a night (USD) I expected atleast a comfortable stay... It's unfortunate to only have negative reviews when describing this place but all with good reasoning. To start it was very dirty. There were cracks in the wall and floor, bugs flying around the room and the toilet had no cover on it. The water was yellow coming out of the shower and the civilians staying next to my room kept walking past my Window and car - starring for long periods of time which made me and my partner feel very uneasy. I would not let him leave me alone in the room do to the simple fact of not feeling safe. Motel 6 is a long term home for quite a few people I kept referring to it as a "little community" which in my personal opinion doesn't make me feel comfortable because the people that live there know the ins and outs of that place which left us and the group of people that stayed there with us (for the wedding we were attending) very uneasy and on edge. I didn't sleep a single wink that night. The bed was very hard the sheets were stained and the smell of time room was unbearable I would compare it to a pack of cigarets and bad plumbing. Not to mention the feeling of getting robbed kept crossing my mind. At 2am there was an ambulance outside my window flashing it's bright lights in, which left me with nothing but negative thoughts running through my mind as to why it was there. however we made it through the unpleasant night and now no to NEVER stay in a motel6 again.
Rooms were remodeled and very nice. And excellent value for sure. Pool was out of order. Cable and wifi signals poor.
There wasn't much to like. -Rooms were not very clean -Ceiling looked like it had severe water damage at one time -Seen nicer toilets in public truck stops -Room smelled very musty -Door to room had a big gap on the bottom -Faucet water temperatures were mismarked; hot lever was cold water and cold lever was hot water. We burned our hands on the scalding water a couple times. -"Breakfast" was a couple of stale cereal dispensers and old fruit -Yes the rooms were relatively cheap, but these were $30 a night rooms not $80. Won't stay here ever again.
The staff were very friendly.
