The manager Ann made it an extraordinary experience with lovely breakfasts and daily cookies. Great location with partial view of harbor plus short walk to footbridge and access to dozens of restaurants and shops.
This property is beautifully landscaped and has wonderful views of the harbor. The rooms are tastefully appointed and the beds comfortable. Very clean and surprisingly quiet for a B&B. Private bathrooms and balconies and also comfortable common areas with plenty of space to read a book on the porch while enjoying the view and ocean breeze. We stayed in the “Beauty” suite which has a balcony with a view of the harbor. Our friends stayed in a suite with a king bed and their room was probably the largest on the 2nd floor. The other bed room on the second floor you wake up to a beautiful view of the harbor from your bed. We didn’t see the 3rd floor but I assume it is a suite room(s) and I can’t imagine it’s any different than the wonderful rooms on the 2nd floor. If we went as a family, we would look into the 3rd floor as accommodation. It is conveniently located near the foot bridge into town, maybe a 10 min walk into the heart of Boothbay Harbor. The breakfast was AMAZING! It’s a sit down affair at 9 am and it is wonderful. The owner and her staff are welcoming and accommodating as well as knowledgeable about the area. Truly a wonderful Maine experience! 10 for 10 would stay here again!!!
To us, there were no negatives to this property. The only thing that could potentially make it better would be a larger parking area but they make things very easy to park even though the lot is small. I don’t think there is anyway for them to change to lot size, so we don’t really consider it a “negative” or something that could/should be changed. Our rental car company gave us a free “upgrade” (not an upgrade in the northeast imo) to a minivan and we had no issues parking or getting out of the lot. So like I said not really a negative, just what it is in that part of the country.
The Inn was lovely, breakfast excellent, and staff was great. The location was good and an easy 10 minute walk to the central part of town, and an easy drive to many local attractions.
The room we stayed in was lovely (#1), but was in the front of the inn closest to the street, and was a bit noisy at night. However the Atlantic Ark Inn has other rooms and a small cottage as well, which are much quieter.
Comfortable, helpful friendly staff, good quiche, fresh flowers everywhere. Convenient for restaurants.
2 twin beds put together and not enough space in the room, not very good coffee, busy street, fishy smell from the harbor.
The breakfasts were perfect. We enjoyed meeting and talking with the other guests
This was our first time in a B&B. The room was quite small.
