The place had it's own private beach, the views where amazing and the pool was great. The bed was dodgy (really soft), no fly screens and heaps of biting insects, the gas hot plates didn't work, the floors were dirty, and the shower was weird and had no pressure. The entertainment area was right near our bedroom window and around 10pm they started up with music and games to about 2am in the morning... Not plesant at all. Also it was not two rooms and it did not have a TV or WiFi.
We stayed one night 16.7 and then Mrs. Thousand (from Booking.com) re- located us in another hotel Stella Marina. About the Calispera (the first hotel) I can say "if you want to hammer your brains and plish your nervous with sand papèr, then calispera is right choice". Everything was bad.
Fantastic position-on a clear day you can see Stromboli, the other Eolian islands, Sicily and across the bay, the lighthouse at night-I`m speechless, it`s like a fairytale, great staff-the ok team are enthusiastic & friendly, much better than ok, sweet, patient receptionist, smiling cleaners, simple accommodation with everything you need in the apartment-absolutely, superb value none
The view it's really stunnig.. It is a very low level residence, the rooms are not very confortable and very very hot... additionally they charge for many additional thing without telling you, such as air conditioning (15 euro per day), the club card (4 euro per person per day)... We didn't even had the ac turned on and they charged it anyway... For the price you end up paying you can go in a much higher level hotel...
Beautiful beach and pool efficient check in Rooms are vary spacious and great for families travelling with children. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and courteous. Staff in the restaurants were very accommodating, helpful and efficient. Rooms could use renovating (beds, bathrooms, air conditioning) The hotel has bird nests all over the property. They promote natural beauty. It is great seeing birds flying around the property but the down side is that there are bird droppings all over the walls. The hotel staff needs to do a better job at cleaning up beneath the bird nests and on the walls. Travel to the beach is very scenic... But long and difficult in the hot sun as it is up / down a steep hill. It would be great if the hotel could put stairs going up and down to the beach or provide a free shuttle service (as other hotels in the area do)various times through the day. The food quality could improve especially at breakfast.
nothing plenty, poor maintenance, service lacking in all areas, worst coffee we have ever had in Italy.
the beds were clean and comfortable breakfast was terrible , the toilet seat was broken and they didn't attempt to fix it when reported, light not working but did fix it shower door was cracked and the terrace area was filthy ,hardened cooking fat on it and rat droppings no info on the beach facilities available and then when i went to pay for 4 days they charged us 42 euros each for the pool and beach which we did'nt use
A lot of activites to choose on, like streatching , training etc. The breakfast is really really poor, actually the worse I have ever eaten on a hotell, no fruit, no vegetables only white bread, you really need to do something about it. The music is very loud even in the late evening. The aircondition broke down 3 times and when we said that you should do something on the price it was a difficult disccusion, that is not called service.
The management were extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet had no varity.
Wonderful location, really by the sea. Good swimming pool. Breakfast is ok. If coming with a car, it is easy to go to different beaches and the city of Tropea. Internet access would be an important improvement.
Close to sea and Tropea. Real nice beach. Standart room is termit's house, noisy in nigth. No air condition -no problem, but it hasn't even air fan- very hot at nigth. Show program in evning is stupied.
It was extremely tranquil in a lovely setting with a beautiful beach. The room did not have a TV for the news etc.
Although traveling solo, I was given a large room with a very nice view of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Dinner and breakfast (full pensione) were quite respectable. Hotel provides a public computer for free use. If you're a foreigner, driving alone, you might want to invest in a gps system (not terribly expensive, but very helpful) to find the hotel.
Nice beach, quite place. Poor selection on buffet breakfast.
The staff was very great. There was a very nice pool and the hotel had a direct acces to the beach. It was also very close to a little fisher village where we had the best meal of our entire stay in italy. (Very nice sea food, fish and pasta !) The only thing we didnt like about this hotel was that the bed was to hard for us. The matress was as hard as rock.
The wonderful staff, beautiful panaromic views, cleanliness, regional food, and beautiful music
location, helfulness of hotel staff
wonderful with fabulous views of calabrian coastline. Also some great restaurants within walking distance. Highly recommended. Hotel only about 7 years old with great service and staff and very reasonable prices. None
Easy access to a fabulous beach. Very quiet
The hotel staffs were very friendly and attentive. We stayed at the apartments which are about 1 km from the main hotel. These apartments appeal to the people not looking for more luxury, but they are suits for who looking for silence, tranquility, and who wants to get out of from the chaos of the big cities. The see, nature and coastline were wonderful, fabulously clean ...Two things worth to make a critic are breakfast which wasn't reach and the very difficult rough path between the hotel and the apartments. your car could be suffered from the some damages:)) nevertheless without car, transport could be difficult in any case.
We loved the welcome we got on arrival. The staff were always helpful and friendly. All of the hotel guests were invited to an evening at the beach to eat and watch the sunset. The evening was really lovely and the waiters did some Calabrian dancing which was fun to watch. We were then taken back to the hotel after an excellent evening. I would recommend this hotel.
Luckily it was a short stay. We did not get the room we've booked - instead they gave us a appartment about 30 min walk from hotel. Appartment was not bad, but it was not a "hotel service'" - it was not cleaned, towells ware not changed, there was no pool, you had to ride a dirt road to get there, etc. Of course they tried to charge us as it was normal hotel room (we refused, and after some negotiations they agreed - super ;) This is quite smart, as they are selling "hotel apartments" on booking side, and actually giving you normal apartments, which you could rent half a price in local area. Simply put - if you had to go to capo vaticano, choose some other hotel.
Great location , reasonable price and fantastic sea and rocks view, Wi-Fi availability. The breakfast isn't fresh enough ...
Helpful staff+good location dinner on a fixed time was not that convenient
We stayed in one of the apartments which are located a good 10 - 15 min walk from the main hotel. We didn't have a car whilst staying there which I would probably recommend that you did have. The apartments are in a quite location away from all the main amenities with some great views back across the town.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful Nothing we did not like
Our family had a nice holiday at this hotel. Everything was ok and the staff and managment took personal care to see that everybody was satisfied..The Italian cuisine made by their cooks was excellent.
Found staff very pleasant. Stayed in self catered apartments which are about 1km from hotel. These were clean and tidy and well equipped. I found it to be good value for money.
