Pros: The staff was cordial and helpful. There is a terrace on the top floor with a spectacular view of the Castle. This alone made the place worth the cost. The rooms were spacious and charmingly decorated. We had a room to sleep 4 ppl and it was comfortable for everyone. I definitely recommend it.

Cons: The air conditioner was not working. The bathroom had a strong sewage-like smell (we kept the window wide open and closed the bedroom door to contain the smell). The breakfast was priced higher than the content's worth.

Car has to be at least 200+ yards from the hotel--no private auto access--they use a small van to take you to the hotel.
The room we were in was quite small--the closet door backed up to another needed door--constant banging.
Chair for the desk had arms--could not go under the desk--another small room issue
Partial glass separator for shower in the bath does a lousy job of keeping water in the tub

Located right in the heart of Carcassonne’s medieval citadel, the hotel’s 61 rooms are spread over three buildings. Guests are greeted by a warm welcome and provided with excellent service by a staff attentive to each client’s needs and comfort. The Best Western Plus Hotel Le Donjon is made up of three different buildings, Le Donjon, Le Clos Trencavel and La Maison des Remparts. Our hotel has a restaurant and lounge, four conference rooms which will accommodate up to 100 guests, business services and a reception area with a television and reading lounge. Our guest rooms are equipped with television, telephone with dataports and Wi-Fi access, coffee/tea maker, hairdryer, air-conditioning, and room service. Elevators are available for your use in Le Donjon and in La Maison des Remparts. Enjoy your stay.
