Great surprise when we arrived very late there!!! very welcoming staff and there's a pool!! And in the morning whoa the beach is at 1 minute walking!!! nothing to say
The location was decent, on the main setup and near the beaches. Broken ice makers, hot stuffy rooms, beds were as hard as a rock. Rooms were attempted to be updated, Ikea style- but much was broken and flimsy. Bare bones, for $100+/nt. I expect more.
Basic hotel, nothing fancy. Personel was not very friendly. Carpinteria is a nice town with good restaurants. Room was very basic, rooms looked steril.
Phil is a very nice man. 6am Sunday morning , the room door is opened by someone violently and the dead bolt stopped them. As I bound out of bed to proctect my wife I am transformed into a lion protecting its lady against a Trump son with a rifle trying to cut my tail off. I fling the door open with a rage looking for someone to fight. No one there. Fall back asleep, 7 am.. phone rings RING/RIiiIiinG. I pick up the phone. No one there. !!! 8 am, the maid enters to clean the room, boom, dead bolt saves the day again. We are tired. I check out and let the desk man know what happened. He was nice and promised to have management call me. I am still waiting for the call. I feel like we are just throw away items like so many trump supporters grabbed in the puśśy. We won't be staying there again. Phil was very nice though.
The hardwood floors in the rooms were very nice, as was having the towels in little cubbies.
We booked a room through Booking.com via KAYAK . There was no opportunity on the site to specify a non-smoking room. It never occurred to me while I was making the reservation that I would need to specify. The clerk said we should have reserved through the Motel 6 site. As they were full except for one non-smoking room, we had to choose whether to stay in a tobacco permeated room or cancel our reservation & find another place to stay. The clerk let us into the room to help us decide if we could tolerate it. When we decided we had to find another hotel, they cancelled our reservation without any problems. This is not a critique of Motel 6. I am very disappointed that Booking.com and/or KAYAK didn't allow me to choose a non-smoking room in advance or at least redirect me to the Motel 6 reservation site where I could have selected a non-smoking room.
I was impressed by the updated design in the interior. Fun! All the basic amenities were there, with a pool to boot. This is an outstanding value. There was quite a bit of noise leakage from the walkway outside our door. The room key had to be reset a few times. The coffee came in styrofoam cups (but hey, it was free!)
location, parking plastic flooring in thne bedroom
Bed mattress was extremely firm...a quick continental breakfast would be nice for over $100/nt.
It was quite. It was way overpriced.
I have had to stay for an extended period of time. I am a newly discharged (honorably) army vet with ptsd alongside many other issues. The staff has been so amazing both to me in general, and understanding the challenges I may face. While being apart from my family, the staff and facility has provided me with a temporary place of solice.
Free parking close to accommodation, Motel easy to find, several nearby restaurants, free coffee in reception area
It was close to the event I was attending. No amenities, no coffee, no fridge, had to ask for blankets, not much for the money.
Very modern and clean. Accessible and an easy 15 minute drive to downtown SB. The faucet in the bathroom was a bit wobbly but everything else was just fine. Good bang for your buck!
Easy check-in and check-out. Modern facilities and décor. Missing basic amenities such as a blow dryer, iron, shampoo/conditioner, mini fridge, etc. that motels typically offer. Would have been nice to at least have a blow dryer.
I didn't like anything. The internet priced it $20. more than the sign hanging outside the motel. The bed smelled like pee or butt...a mixture of it. We left after being there for only a couple hours...drove back home 3 hours away with no sleep because the smell was disgusting. The television had really bad quality picture and sound.
Price for the area
Reception wasn't friendly Very poor shower, almost no running water
spacious room dirty towel left from last guest
There was free parking, the hotel was near the places and restaurants we wanted to go to, it was also close to a gas station and a 7 Eleven. There was a free breakfast included in the price saving us time and money. The building has an elevator. The beds were very high and there were no bars in the restroom to help people with disabilities or Senior Citizens who have difficulty moving. There were no Senior Citizen or AARP discount rates.
good location worn and used building, quite noisy inside, breakfast not really good
free parking and free internet Very late breakfaste. 7.30 AM, I am on the road at this time
The room was really nice
Location is good . Front desk staff are rude and unhelpful. I stayed once before but I'd forgotten how rude she was. If I would have remembered I would have never returned .
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very well kept and the remodel was nicely done. Very good location, close to dining and shopping. You cant beat a 1 min walk to the beach! My wife and I enjoyed our stay and will be returning soon. Maybe next time we will borrow a couple of the beach cruisers and ride along the beach. Nothing
Our original plans were set for the Fess Parker hotel where my conference was scheduled. Due to poor customer service at the Fess Parker I searched yelp and found Inn at East Beach. Let me just start off by saying Fess Parker did me a favor and finding Inn at East Beach was the best thing ever. Frank and Linda own and reside there and you couldn't ask for nicer people. The hotel is spotless, the decor is warm and inviting. We stayed in their fireplace suite and loved it. Many people have commented about the "jello" bed, we did not feel that this was an issue. Other people commented about the thin walls and unfortunately that is true. When the occupants next to us start their shower, it reverberates through the wall that it wakes us up each time. Breakfast is included as is the wifi here. You are a block from the ocean and blocks from downtown. Lots of great restaurants and the wharf is nearby. Inn at East Beach is where I'll be staying from now on when I come to SB. Thank you Frank and Linda for your hospitality, we'll be back!
The check in process was easy - the people are beyond friendly - the rooms are comfy (great bedding). We booked too late to get a good price- we paid twice what our friends did.
Great location. Just steps from the beach. Great breakfast. Uncomfortable bed, furniture looked worn/heavily used. The toilet and toilet seat were OLD. Like they probably didn't change it out when they bought and remodeled the place. The floor in the bathroom was disgusting - a woven grass cloth/vinyl. I'm sure it holds all the germs. Old metal shower doors were just painted over. Tv only had about 10 working channels. In general for what I paid, I definitely expected more. The pics make it seem much nicer than it is.
Very enjoyable experience. Staff was very courteous, professional and helpful. Concierge was very knowledgeable of the area. I will return and recommend to friends and famil Sandy
Location Noisey manager. Actually counted the items we took at the continent breakfast. Very creepy!
The breakfast bar was great! Rooms are dated but ok. Don't let the photos fool you. Staff was EXTREMELY helpful and EXTREMELY nice! Had a great walk along the beach and was close to many things to do. we would stay again!
The manager, Frank, was pretty much the only highlight of the hotel. The hotel was EXTREMELY HOT. Yes, Santa Barbara was having very humid weather, but the hotel was much hotter than the temperature outside. Be warned, this hotel has NO AIR CONDITIONING. I can guess that the walls are not insulated either. I have stayed at so many hotels in my life, from very very basic motels to high end hotels, and never in my life have I been to a hotel with no air conditioning. It was miserable. Guests had to leave their doors open and every one just seemed so uncomfortable. Nothing about the room was inviting or cozy. The shower finish was all peeling off. The bathroom floors were an odd bamboo material and were actually damp when we arrived, which seemed very odd. To me it just seemed like an old motel that went through a crappy renovation so that it could charge hundreds of dollars per night. Arriving at the hotel did not feel like a vacation - no charm, no excitement. Unfortunately, I would never return.
Location. Staff friendly, they try to be helpful. Continental breakfast was generous, they need more tables and chairs for guest to sit, maybe more table for two. Towel/shower were separate from the sink. Generous assortment of toiletries. The décor was appealing but badly needs to be maintained. Nice glass desk. Glass side table was wobbly. Lots of hangers in closet. Nice big dresser could have used a mirror over it. The room was not clean. Rooms are tired looking. All decks and walkways look dirty, need to be hosed down. Our reservation was for a double Queen with a Kitchenette (4 ladies). We were were given a King Kitchenette. After being persistent they moved us to a double Queen Kitchenette. No air-conditioning and our window opened up to the parking lot. Uhg! The beds are ok, very springy, the linins appeared clean. Bath towels are nice size and thick. Upholstered chairs were comfy but not clean. Edges of carpet and base boards not cleaned in a long while. Glass on fireplace had hand prints and drips on it. Bath floor covers and sink area are a beach mat type of material and moldy. Bath sink is a huge rectangle with two facets, but the facets are to close together for two adults. The vanity should have spanned the entire wall with a the mirror spanning the wall as well for more light and use. Vanity needs electric out let at each end. The LED lights over the bed did not work properly, but a great idea. Door matts in front of each room were cute but falling apart. Kitchenette was ok, badly needs remolded the microwave was on top of the refrigerator. The full size refrigerator, stove top and oven are to big for the small kitchenette. More counter and pantry space less appliance! A full size coffee maker would be better. There were only 2 coffee mugs (for 4 people). Poor assortment of dishes and glass wear. Use Small dish sponges and or dish clothes, not sloppy drippy scrub pads. When the maid washed the drinking glasses she left them face down in the bottom of the sink! Ick! Minimum toilet and paper towels, no extra we ran out. Beach; chairs, towels and umbrellas broken and shabby. Consider ordering good ones business name or logo on them. Pool needed vacuumed. Pool lounges broken down, deck dirty. The over all décor would be lovely but is not standing up to commercial use.
Easy, Cute , Perf Location !!! UCSB near by !! Zero
the decor was kind of cute. I just needed a safe place to sleep after bday celebration in DT Santa Barbara and this place did the job. I liked the bathroom sink....and there was lots of shelving to set my hairdryer and makeup and straightener. Not as pictured. No kitchenette. Tiny room.
The breakfast in the morning was great. This is not a 3 star hotel. I would say it's 2. It was really loud. Bedding was not soft. Old facilities.
Room was cozy and coffee kuerig machine. Decent breakfast. Walls are thin and our neighboring guests were very loud till middle of the night.
Clean, practical, comfortable.
Everything was fine. No complaints -- but nothing was special about this place. We arrived late and left early so we were just looking for a place to sleep. The rooms were convenient, clean and comfortable. this was one of the few places in its price range that had a pool, free breakfast and Queen (as opposed to double) beds. $200 a night for what was basically a Motel 6 seemed pricey to me -- even for Santa Barbara. The breakfast was a little skimpy: I would have like bacon or sausage to accompany the scrambled eggs and typically a Danish or sweet roll is included. The conveyor machine wasn't working so the entire breakfast room had to wait to use the toaster.
The location was close to transit routes and restaurants The tv was in the living room with no tv in the bedroom, the couch and chair were worn and that's where the tv was
The bed was comfortable 4PM check in time? That is silly. Every place I've ever stayed has a 1PM check in. I got into town early and had to walk around on sit and wait because of this policy. I'll never stay at the sandpiper again
Breakfast was mediocre and shower was mediocre - kept being much too warm and much too cold. Found a few bugs in the shower room.
BED THE BREAKFAST
Very nice staff and nice room Shower leaves a little to improve.
The room was clean, remodeled and comfortable. It was a good motel for the price.
Large shower. Table with two chairs plus ergonomic desk chair and comfortable arm chair.
Location. Front desk staff was very helpful! WiFi signal was spotty in our room.
This property is an older motel on a busy street that has been completely remodeled and updated. They have done so with great attention to detail and have stylishly created a space that feels like a quaint Latin American Village. The rooms feel modern with good beds and shower heads and accessories. Best of all, it is a really good value. Even though we needed to be on the opposite side of Santa Barbara, we have stayed here and enjoyed it on two occasions. You could argue that their continental breakfast is lacking because of a lack of a dining area but they have maximized a small outdoor patio for a pleasant 3 table setting if your plans allow. In this city of inflated hotel prices, we will return to Oasis Inn and Suites.
- very nice garden area that is unusual for hotels of that price category - clean - breakfast and free wifi included
Although my room was small, it had been updated. The bathroom was recently updated with nicer fixtures. The grounds, although small, were well-tended and a respite from the typical motel fare. This is just across the street from Gelson's market and less than a mile from the La Cumbre Mall, so it's close to shopping and not far from Downtown Santa Barbara. There is a very nice residential area behind the motel so I had no concerns walking at night. The staff was very friendly too. My room was fairly close to State Street, so I did start to hear traffic around 7am. If you're a light sleeper or like to sleep in you might want to get a room near the back of the motel.
It was clear they are actively working on improving the property. The staff was nice and compared to othe hotels in the area the pricing was good. When we did our pre check in we were told we were being given a free room upgrade. However when we got there they said the were unable to honor that upgrade. I would suggest not offering things you can not provide.
Hot tub and massive 42" tv Nothing
The bed was the BEST I've slept on!! SO soft! There was a plastic bag (?) outside next to the trash bin. No big deal but hard to miss.
wonderfully friendly staff. cool murals. Not the hottest in terms of decorating style.
The bedding was clean The shower was disgusting! Old, not updated at all. And not very well cared for.
easy to book and took us late as we were driving from northern california south. it was terribly expensive for the facility they offer. old, smelled like smoke, small bathroom, and the sheet had a stain. would have rather stayed in my car. wish we had.
There was nothing I really liked relative to any other hotel/motel There was trash under the bed, stains on the cover. Room had an irritable smell and I just was not a fan of the overall experience. I picked it because it was the cheapest room available last minute but had I would've known what the experience would have been like I would have rather spend twice the price for something more acceptable.
Location and price. Room smelled bad. Carpet was very worn and tattered. Few and inconvenient electrical outlets.
The location was good. I was very very disappointed that there was NOT a hair dryer in the room. I have NEVER Stayed at a hotel or motel that did not have a hair dryer.
The hotel was clean and comfortable. It was easy to get around Santa Barbara. The location was quite central. It would be better to stay further down State Street towards the beach. However, this was fine for our purposes.
The people at the front desk were very helpful and understanding. All rooms smelled like smoke
Close to near by attractions The room was small
It was close to whole foods Most everything.
Close to downtown Santa Barbara and walking distance from local eateries and bars
Cheap hotel with honest price, with all you need and free parking. Too many truck drivers and weird figures attending hotel. Not a family environment, mostly at night.
The price was acceptable for the location. Good parking lot. They had a pool.
As always Santa Barbara is an expensive place. The hotel was a big surprise as to it's modern design and functionality, very nice. The cost was high but what you would expect for Santa Barbara.
It smelled so bad in the room, not tolerable we both got a huge headache.
I booked a queen sized bed but we were given a room with 2 full size beds. When we called the front desk we were told that it was our mistake not the hotel's and no rooms would be available for a few hours.
The cleanliness Size, no breakfast
