it was nice, clean and quiet. The Bart station was about a 10 minute drive.
Sink was clogged. Fridge was dirty. Balcony was open when we walked in. The AC unit was FILLED with dust. We repeatedly asked for someone to unclog the sink and they did nothing. It was GROSS.
Hotel Employee at the front desk was very kind and helpful. The fresh popcorn from the oldschool popper cart was delicious, nice touch. Aged room, no baseboards but piles of dirt/dust instead. Splattered grime on doors. Parking garage storing garbage has broken elevator. Took stairs wearing heels, pulling luggage. To exit- must go out in rain, down a slippery ramp to get to car in garage.
Cleanliness and the friendly staff.
The location was convenient. We couldn't get the T.V. to work.
Staff. Very friendly. Found trash that cleaning crew missed in our room.
-breakfast is adequate -parking -hear footsteps of other guests through ceiling -hear conversations of other guests through walls
I complained about a bath drain stopper that didn't hold water in the tub well the first night, forcing me to take a shower. The desk help said it would be fixed by tomorrow. It wasn't. They moved me to a rm with great jacuzzi for free! No gym. No eggs at breakfast.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
This stay was OK but a little high for the area midweek. Not much in Castro Valley. Was convenient for what we needed. What was poor was that we had no housekeeping the first night and there was no attempt on the part of management to compensate.
Everything! Was a great stay I didn't have any problems.
The front desk lady is so rude and did not respect her job at all.
Very outdated! not worth the money! they could do so much, at least keep it clean but not even that!
Had a fridge in room and microwave thats it!!! Too many people were milling around and didnt feel safe. EVERYTHING, nothing in the room worked, it advertises Jacuzzi rooms but they don't work, Pool and spa were also closed. breakfast consisted of stale donuts and coffee that was like mud. There was a total of 6 stations on the "Dish" network
Very friendly staff The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable; the pillows were small and the one blanket was thin
I can't rate something I did not get! Got an e mail canceling due to overbooking. A half hour on hold just to talk to someone that could not assist me. I'm never using your service again and I am deleting the app from my iPhone.
Well located for SFO International airport, but out of any flight paths. Quiet marina location with convenient restaurant 2 mins walk away (Horatios). The reception staff were very helpful and friendly and the complementary breakfast was excellent. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay within 30 mins of SFO or Oakland Airport
the comfort and staff no everything was perfect in out 21 days trip was the best hotel we had
Very friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast and nice view. They also had a shuttle that was free of charge and could use for your traveling around the city
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Location was convenient and it had all of the amenities I was looking for. No. I was very happy with it and will stay there again.
Great location, beautiful setting, friendly helpful staff.
View A bit dated
The fact that it has a wonderful breakfast and is close to the Bay Breeze race area. The front desk employees were not as friendly as previous visits and the room was not as clean and fresh smelling as previous visits. This was our 3rd stay in this hotel and when we mentioned this the fellow at the front desk just said," oh."
The view from my room and how quiet the location is
The weather That I can't use a prepaid master debit card to pay for hotel.
The staff was very friendly and it is right in downtown Alameda which is great because it's just a walk to shops, restaurants and bars. Being by the bay was nice considering the price of the room. The decor is from the 80's. It reminded me of staying in an old cabin, the room was huge with a balcony which was great but the rooms need a serious update. All the furnishings looked like it was found at a garage sale or thrift store but not in a hip way. The pictures of the rooms on the website were a bit deceiving.
This is in an excellent location if you need to get to downtown Oakland without actually staying in the city. It's also near major stores and restaurants. Will stay here again.
Staff is friendly and facilities and grounds were very clean. While very clean, the rooms, especially the bathrooms, are worn and dated.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Overall cleanliness of room was OK just smelly weird. It was an old dated room with average cleanliness. TV from 1972.The location was great.
Size of the room Fridge and stove not to fat from San Francisco The lobby and ailse rug was dirty. We had to ask every night for 4 towels eventhough we hung the towels to make sure they will not be changed Lack of table for breakfast.
Wi fi problems
The young lady that helped us at the front desk was kind and very helpful. We got an upgrade to a upstairs room. The Inn was nicely located across from a large shopping center with plenty of options for shopping and food purchases. The room smelled of old musty cigarettes and it was a non smoking room, The counter and the toilet were ultra low the bathroom sink was 28inches high and the toilet was so low it felt like I was doing squats to sit on the toilet. The bed was very uncomfortable and very broken down in the middle like a soup bowl. the T.V. remotes did not work, not a big deal but noted. The place has not been updated in many years it seemed. and it is very noisy at night due to it be located next to a bowling alley. It felt as though most the guest were like apartment rentals just a weird feel.
Great breakfast; rooms were quite roomy and clean; wifi was good; balcony was nice touch. Walking up steps not easy.
The location is excellent, walking distance to beach and shopping Mall with grocery store directly across the street. My stay was business related so Internet access very important. Internet access was great and I was able to work from room daily. Majority of staff extremely friendly and helpful. Traveling solo, I felt very safe at this location. Would stay again and recommend to others.V Very satisfied with my accommodations. There is nothing to dislike.
My family and I have stayed there multiple times and have enjoyed it each time. Helped us to discover the quant was of Alameda. The bathrooms are in need of refreshing.
I like the employs and how clean my room was!
The room was clean and beat. Great tv selections and good breakfast options. restaraunts are near as well My card stop working before my check out time
Staff were nice, breakfast was tasty, nice location, clean and comfortable rooms.
The staff was great we had arrive earlier than we thought an we ask if their was an early check in they told us to wait till housekeeping got in right when they had first room available the gave it use. Will gladly stay here again on r next trip out
Overall I like the place and would stay again. I wish the place would have had a jacuzzi
Staff was great! Breakfast is great. Shopping and restaurants nearby. Only two upgraded rooms available and I didn't get one.
The hotel staff was friendly, the room was nice. Location was good, just inside downtown Hayward. Breakfast was better than average, plenty of options for food, and the food was GOOD.
It's a quiet neighborhood not much noise at night TV's need to be upgraded and the bathrooms need some work as well.
It was conveniently close to my work. Manager was horrible with his customer service and could not accommodate my needs when I had issues with the room not having most outlets working to charge my devices for work. The room itself was really outdated and needed remodeling, most of their lamps didn't work either. The shower was a bit dirty and worn out. Overall a bad experience that I had to just leave.
The balcony with waterfront and city views. Outdated room.
Extremely dated, dingy, barely functioning AC, pillows needed to be replaced 5 years ago.
Great value great location Bar next door throwing things off the balcony at 230 in the morning
We had a great stay. Jeremias was absolutely the BEST manager I've ever seen. Extremely helpful. He went out of his way to print out two separate sets of directions when we realized our group had been split up. He was quick to deliver extra pillows. The breakfast was fully stocked when he was there. Construction on our building started at 730am. So much for sleeping in. I was surprised we weren't warned. The last day we were there (Jeremias wasn't) breakfast was skimpy. Our plan was to lounge around until check out time but we promptly left when we realized the construction in our building wasn't stopping.
Paid extra to get a nicer room with a king size bed, instead I got a very cheap room that needed remodel with a king size bed that the sheets were too small to fit it. The sheets didn't even stretch to the edge, they were just laid on the mattress and during the night it came half off. I woke up during the night several times because of that. When complained in the morning they just said sorry to hear that but refused to give any kind of compensation.
I liked the waterfront area, the pool, the breakfast was good... It was quaint & nice outside of the room. It wasn't super conveniently located to stores or anything else for that matter. The room was small. The shower was a tiny closet with no tub.
We liked the location and the friendliness of the staff. The bed was remarkably in good shape. Small room, not well maintained and a bit dirty. The linens were shabby.
Staff was nice. By the water. Nice pillows. Rustin the bathroom. Small room. Rooms are adjoining and there is a lockes door which other people tried to open. Ceiling in the bathroom was cracked. Bed was uncomfortable. TV remote didn't work.
Quick check in. Clean and spacious rooms. Accommodations
Loved the location. Felt safe, close to airport, and also close to the bay. The roads around were a little confusing.
We always get king suites with Hampton Inn, and have yet to be disappointed. This particular suite seemed a little bigger than average. Perhaps it was the floor plan.
The best beds ever! Always clean and comfortable.
Great location for Raiders fans. airport shuttle. Great staff
Love the do it yourself waffle breakfast Flat screen tv did not have hookups for my digital camcorder
There was some type of hair all over the top of the bed and pillows. The cleanliness of the room
We would've had a better experience if the windows had been dual pained. We had a hard time falling asleep because we could hear all the traffic from the freeway and the road below us. We felt like the windows were open, but they were closed and drapes pulled closed too.
Sheets were clean which was nice. Great location. Room they gave was a smoking room without notice. No other rooms available. Main lobby smelled really bad. AC didn't work.
Took one hr to check in
Convenient location to Amtrak Rough neighborhood, deeply soiled carpet, aged and no restaurants close by! Would not stay here again, regardless of photos and/or price!
The price for the location was pretty good. The staff was very helpful. Wifi was unuseable. Carpet was damp and stained our feet black. Room card stopped working and we were locked out of our room for an hour while they tried to fix it (in our pajamas). Ultimately had to pack all our stuff and move to another room.
The staff was very nice, helpful. We've stayed there several times when in town for dance conventions, would stay there again. My only complaint on this last visit was the stiffness/hardness of the pillows... we all had sore necks the next morning.
The staff is very professional and curtious. Nothing
Clean and people were very nice there. The decor in the room was wonderful. Bathroom had a stool for ladies like me to put on their makeup. Full breakfast was the best of all. If we want to stay overnite again we would be staying there. No complaints at all!!
First, I found that staying in Alameda as opposed to San Francisco, our destination, was not a bad idea at all. Parking is available and included. The room was spacious and clean. Continental breakfast was excellent; it included everything you would expect in a decent hotel. The mattresses were too soft for me, but the pillows were nice.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a minor issue with the room which they attempted to resolve immediately. It was also nice to have a decent size room with a separate sitting and sleeping area after having been in a room for about the same price across the bay that was a third the size. It was also 2 blocks from the Fireside which is a bar that one of my friends opened. That was the only reason I was staying in Alameda at all ;-) The pancakes were pretty lousy (Sam liked the waffles though). The air conditioning would not shut off in the room and we had to have someone come and fix it. They were super helpful though and offered us another room.
I appreciated the buffet breakfast, morning paper, fitness center and suite design of the room which allowed me to have a separate area for my laptop. It was also convenient to public transportation and close to two good restaurants and a drugstore. Moderate street noise (mainly from sirens), but not a huge problem.
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. the room was spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable to work in. I did not like it that the taxi driver who the hotel called in, did not have a meter and asked a higher price for the ride to the airport than the meter would show.
Excellent buffet breakfast, helpfulness of staff
The comfort of the room. The room next door sounded like the people were in our room, when they were talking. The talking woke us up at 6:00 am.
Very clean facilities, quiet location.
Great place to stay breakfast bar quick and easy
Simple and cleaning no
Convenient to a Chinese restaurant (east ocean - 1 block away) where we were guests for a birthday banquet. Easy to find through the Webster Street tunnel to Alameda. Cold drinks machine on every floor. Breakfast room could not accomodate all the guests wanting food at the same time. Encourage guests to take beakfast trays to their rooms.
Price, quiet location Spotty and unstable WiFi service ... only two antennas identified are aimed across parking lot. Unlikely to be any coverage to rooms that are not facing the antennas -- for example, the breakfast room.
Nothing Nonsmoking room but smelled like smoke.
owners & staff are very friendly & eager to please Everything very clean. Pleased to see they wash the bedspreads often.
Nice and clean hotel, I can recommend for visiting San-Fransisco (20min drive).
Really liked the clean, well-lit facility. Parking was not the easiest as several trucks took up multiple parking spaces.
LEAVING Very small room, No Microwave oven, No refrigerator the Tv channels were very limitedthe parking spaces were almost all takenI had to park a didtance away from my roomat the bottom of the stairs near my room someone had discarded a cooked chicken
Entrance to the Motel is not marked. It is behind a McDonalds Restaurant and a Chevron Gas station and you must enter through the Chevron Gas Station parking lot. Drove around a few times to figure out how to access the Motel.
It is clean, room is fine, good location and value for the price.
Accessibility to the freeway, restaurants and shopping center. the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The room had a bad odor and the bedding did not look clean.
Clean rooms and well maintained grounds.
Convenient from freeway. pet friendly. Bed - Queen size? - Very Old, Hard ridge on outer part, middle sagged badly. mattress SHOULD BE REPLACED. 1 small(desk) 1 chair. No table or chair for sitting. We are seniors ages 83. Sitting on bed awkward. Checked out early with severe back aches.
For the price, it was clean and updated. I would stay there again. The only thing I would've liked was for the room to have carpet instead of wood-laminate floors, but I can understand why. It is easier to keep clean.
The room was super cheap! But I guess you get what you pay for... Don't know that I would come back. The hotel did not provide free wifi, even though they advertised they did. In addition, they did not provide shampoo and the towels had human hair in them.
Close to where I needed to be, not too pricey. Easy to make a reservation. I could be wrong, but I found it odd that there was no shampoo in the shower and no blow dryer. I just thought that was standard.
This place is bad. Therr are bedbugs
The room size When checked in given a rom not cleaned with cigarette butts on floor. Supposed to be a non smoking facility. Moved to better room still not cleaned well. Only two pillow cases after returning to office to request 4. Will not stay there again.
This place is like hell. We had bedbugs in our room and the manager there is a trans gender. Later that fucker kicked us out
The staff tried to help, but in the end what type of hotel issues you a room without a key available!!? They had other rooms!! Why didn't they just give me another room!!? The room smelled like smoke! There are signs all over the facility stating it was a smoke free place and that no smoking was allowed on the premises, but there were numerous people standing right outside my room smoking!! The room also had numerous gross stains on the carpet. Was almost afraid to even sleep in the bed, and I'm the type of person that can sleep anywhere! Not even going to rant about how moldy the bathroom was!! Again, what type of place assigns you a room without a key available!!? I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone, especially a family. For $100.00 would at least expect a clean room sans stains, smokey smell. And at least a key to get in without having to go to the front desk to have someone open my door!!!!
Beds are not clean, hairs on the bed sheets: carpet dirty non smoking room smells like smoke, need hair dryer and iron for convenience and maybe luggage carts to help with luggages. Breakfasts could be better Breakfast poor quality. Hairs on bed sheets.
Cool staff at check in, decent price Half toilet paper only, had to use napkins, coffe maker cup wasn't cleaned out, bed frame felt broken, clogged bath tub
The clerk was empathetic and understanding, very helpful with cancellation information. I declined to stay at the motel after my arrival. Despite the feedback I had read, I was optimistic that the place would be suitable for a single overnight stay. I checked in, took the stairs to avoid a homeless man obtaining water from a hose spigot, and was met with a strong wave of marijuana when I opened the room door. I attempted to take the elevator back down to the front desk, but decided against that when the door opened shakily to reveal exposed wires and a used condom on the floor of the elevator cab. The front desk clerk was very empathetic, and when I explained "I can't stay here," he responded "I didn't think you could." The two police officers who arrived were very helpful with keeping the homeless man away from my vehicle as I left. I would recommend removing this hotel from all third party booking sites.
Location Room very poor quality, blood stains on the carpet, bathroom and sink dirty, not maintained. Too expensive for the quality of the room.
The hotel staff was decent. It may be a victim of its location more than the hotel itself. Cigarette on my car but no damage! It was in pretty poor condition. There was a bulb missing in one of the lamps. One lamp and the cable box were unplugged. The AC unit had gaps to the outdoors. If you book through kayak (hotels.com) you'll have to pay a cash deposit and ask for it back else they may kindly keep it. I took pictures of my room incase they tried to charge me for anything. I chose this location because it was within walking distance to bart and cheap. Upon arrival I decided it would be better to drive to bart. Doing it again I'd stay in another city, or at least go for a $100+ hotel maybe the neighboring days inn.
