Pros: A charming family hotel in an old town of the Chambery with exceptionally designed room (black infinity). Friendly and helpful staff with personal attitude. The shower was nicely equipped and nice cosmetics provided.
Cons: We expected the room to be with a bath.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved every single thing in this hotel. Everything was perfect, 110% perfect, from start to finish. I arrived late and the owners waited for me with a smile on their faces, I got lost and they were patient to explain the directions, it was raining and the owner came to get my car even though I arrived and parked at the wrong place so the owner came to get my car with an umbrella, the breakfast was superb, and everything was extremely clean. The entire hotel made us feel wonderful, especially the pool and spa because it makes you feel like you’re in the Romans’ time. The owners treat you like you’re a very important person and very important. They change the towels twice a day, you find chocolates on the bed. My son and I loved everything
Cons: There is nothing wrong with the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome, super friendly owners and staff. Fascinating decor, really well done. Rooms large and comfortable with huge double showers and fast WiFi. Breakfast was superb with a huge choice. The hotel’s right by the castle in the heart of the old town so ideal for leisurely tourism. All in all 10/10 all the way.

Pros: Amazing room, great location right next to the palace and fabulous staff
Cons: Lift just being installed - will be even better when it’s done
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Accomodations and room were superb . Location is outstanding. Staff was friendly , helpful, and outstanding . Owners and staff work hard to be very customer friendly all day every day. This is a very attractive boutique hotel .

9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location and the hotel - really charming building with very nice decorated comfortable rooms. The personal was really helpful and gave good advices for shopping, sightseeing, cafes and restaurants. The bed was absolutely wonderful!!!!
Cons: The breakfast was really delicious, but I was dissapointed when I realized that not everything was included in the gourmet breakfast with the cost of 25 euros. It was an expensive breakfast even for a five stars hotel. So even though it was a great meal, I did not feel I got value for the money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place: great location, excellent customer service, great attention to detail
Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I planned to stay there for one night only, but ended up spending 3 nights because I loved staying there. Perfect hotel in every aspect. Absolutely amazing people, breakfast out of this world, beautiful rooms, relaxed atmosphere, central location in a lovely city.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Petit Hotel Confidential is a great find! My wife and I will recommend this hotel to all of our friends and anyone who asks for a place to stay in Chambery. Close to all the sites, five minutes from the Castle of the Dukes of Savoie and Chapel and plenty of excellent restaurants and places to shop. Located on a quiet corner in the old part of Chambery you cannot be disappointed staying hear. In addition to all the rooms being new, they are also very tastefully decorated and include all those comforts that separate a great hotel from a merely good hotel. The Staff is terrific, well informed, welcoming and friendly and genuinely interested in our well being.
Cons: There is not one thing we did not like about our stay at the Petit Hotel Confidential.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: location is fantastic, rooms are large, bed very comfortable, staff very friendly and bathroom large

Pros: Central location backing on to lovely square. Newly renovated room and bathroom. Good eating choices in pedestrian-only street at front door. Public parking nearby.
Cons: It'd be nice if there was a lift, but the staff helped carry our bags and overall it was good value for money.

Pros: The hotel is beautiful ,the staff were very friendly and would stay again if room was to the rear of the hotel

Pros: Beautiful place
Cons: Building noise in the afternoon !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our evening walks around the Chateau. We loved the breakfast. Our duplex room did give us a true feel of living in a Chateau. We also loved the Bar, which had not only the drinks but also the board games and snacks.
Cons: Our room was on the top floor and it did get quite hot.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location. Wine (Viognier) from the chateau. Public areas lovely.
Cons: Room poor, tatty, dark and in severe need of update. They changed us when we asked after 3 days and second room better but many things not working eg bath, TV etc so very poor. Service (with exception of 2 staff) very transactional and cold. Breakfast not good quality compared to places I’ve stayed in this price range.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners welcomed us, were extremely accommodating and did everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The rooms we clean, modern and bright with a beautiful over the lake. The pool in front of the house was the highlight on a hot summer day. Just gorgeous. The breakfast was extraordinary with fresh croissants and breads. We had a beautiful stay.
Cons: Everything was perfect.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, the whole house and pool area extremely clean I'd say, the kitchen can be used by all, our room (quite large) had a 'terrasse' and the jacuzzi is a top one (but along with the sauna... in the garage). The gentleman in charge is easy to talk to and knows a lot about his 'region', the lake. For breakfast, one can have a small glass of squeezed orange, various cheese, eggs, ham, pastry (on our second day though the croissants/pains au chocolat were from the previous day
Cons: A bit shocked on arrival. We had agreed a few weeks before on a certain room with a bath and not a disabled access to then be told other guests wanted that one. Very surprising not to be given any soaps or shampoos considering the price. We were looking forward to the complimentary drink, were given the choice between beer and various juice whereas the lucky person who entered the room 5 mins later was offered vodka, whisky... and shown the content of the bar. I was not impressed! 1st night woken up at 4am by somebody who was pulling the rolling blinds up and again 30 mins later. 2nd night at 7am by the noise in the kitchen as room right next to it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very frienly. Very quiet location. Nice garden with swimming pool.
Cons: No restaurant nearby.

7.0 Good
Pros: The bed is very comfortable, interior is very new and clean. Toilet is separated from the shower and wash basin space which is a plus.
Cons: The property or the whole town caters to mostly french travelers, and therefore most people don’t speak English. There’s not too much information or review in English on this hotel prior. And I didn’t know it’s a self-service smart hotel, converted from a historic building. And as global weather becomes hotter, travelers may want to check if the hotel is air conditioned. This one isn’t and we are not use to the heat, didn’t pay attention to this aspect as it’s only June! The space is smaller than expected from looking at the pictures online.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location in the heart of the village
6.8 Good
Pros: Great staff. Very helpful.
Cons: Noisy with window open and too hot and stuffy with window closed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely little flat with gorgeous outlook over the square. Comfy beds and well appointed.
Cons: The slow automatic lighting in the stairwell, impossible to climb stairs after being outside as it was completely dark until you reach the landing. Outside door code not working.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Privacy and location

7.0 Good
Pros: lovely setting
Cons: Restaurant was overpriced
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved this place and staying here was the highlight of our trip! Peaceful, elegant, leafy Chateau full of history and charm. The garden is a delight and our children enjoyed the treasure hunt! The beds are large and comfortable compared to other hotels we've stayed in. Lovely pool, good food at the restaurant and pleasant staff. We hope to be back soon!
Cons: No real complaints, although the carpet could do with a deep clean, and we would have expected bath robes, slippers, complimentary water etc in the room, given the high end ambitions of the hotel (e.g. charging 6 euros for a bottle of mineral water at dinner!)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved our stay, room was beautiful and very clean. Breakfast was great, and the view from our room and the surrounding area was lovely.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful buildings, comfortable room/bed, excellent restaurant (if a little pricey) in a lovely room. Staff friendly but very professional.
Cons: Nothing, except perhaps the shower: hose type, impossible to stand under....

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Air conditioning and parking were a bonus. Comfortable bed and good quality sleep. Nice views of mountains in the distance.
Cons: I'm nitpicking but decor felt a bit dated. However this wasn't a problem for us and this isn't a 5 star hotel so it's to be expected. Room still exceeded expectations.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really great with variety and both hot and cold choices. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff helpful and spoke English well. Good location very close to numerous restaurants and shops and the town centre.
Cons: Two doors for bathroom and toilet.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good location
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was wide and clean good breakfast with frozen yougourt and many toppings
Cons: We didn't like the behavior of a receptionist (a blond one with average straight hair ) that did not care about a problem we had with the parking (we paid twice both to the hotel and telepass) telling us "no refund, refer to relepass". This is not the way a four star hotel shoul treat guests!!

Pros: Well located Large beds Friendly staff
Cons: Approximative cleaning of the toilets (seat joints were orange / grey, hairs)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Big bed, everything worked, central location
Cons: Small bathroom
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money. We stayed for two nights and the hotel met our expectations: clean, comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff. Close to the centre, lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The hotel parking was full, but we were able to park outside every night (street parking is free during the night, so it was convenient).
Cons: Not a major criticism, but the bath towels were quite small!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very large room, small kitchen with all the necessary equipment. 3 minutes walk to the city center
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good family room. Very very helpful staff. Very good breakfast at a reasonable price - good value.
Cons: As I had a bike stolen from the bike rack on my car it would have been good to have had easier access to store the bikes in the garage. (The bike was on the roof of the car in the open air car park across from the hotel). Staff were great in helping us out after and calling the police who were unfortunately less helpful !! We had 3 other bikes which we were able to store in the luggage room.

Fan supplied in room which cooled things down so got good night's sleep. Professional, friendly hosts. Although it was Sunday evening so restaurant not open (which we knew in advance), they prepared cold platters when we said we did not want a big meal in town.

Pros: We loved the whole place, beautiful! Wonderful setting, fabulous interior, the pool was delightful and the views stunning. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Unfortunately, we arrived on a Monday when the restaurant was closed and the whole hotel seemed closed up. We were tired from a long journey and wanted to sit and relax, but we had to go out again to the local town for dinner, where most of the restaurants also close on a Monday.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal, wow what views. The pool area was beautiful, our room was majestic and breakfast was in a very relaxing environment.
Cons: Alas I didn’t read the hotel detail in depth so was a little annoyed that the restaurant was not open on Sunday and only had a basic menu on Monday. We did however enjoy a really good meal at Twenty’s in Chambery on Sunday evening despite the taxi there and back costing 40 euro’s + in total.
7.5 Good
Pros: Decently sized pool. Grand view.
Cons: The restaurant, one of the undisputable highlights of the hotel, was closed. Certain inconveniences in the room made the stay much less comfortable (non-working toilets door, loud mini-bar, blinking lights of smoke detector directly over the bed). The hotel seemed understaffed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved this out of the way, top class, hotel. Intimate, rooms were amazing. Staff were so on hand to help with anything needed. Pool was fab, breakfast superb set under the grape vines. A secret find, we will be there again soon.
Cons: Flies in the bedroom not that nice.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pool area was excellent, views down to Lac Bourget are stunning. The room was tastefully decorated in period of when the original house was built.
Cons: Dinner menu was over priced with limited choice.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous boutique hotel overlooking a stunning valley view. Great restaurant at the hotel which was very accommodating for our complicated food intolerances. Great stay overall
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms - furniture in old style (~1850) , but still in the best quality, Bathroom beautiful and modern. Restaurant in hotel - very good.
Cons: Personal didn't speak English very well, but still I was understood and got everything I needed.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and evening meal were excellent. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Location near a busy road only negative, however we were given a room at the rear of the property which was quiet. Location near to the lake very good but immediate surroundings a little scruffy. However it seems that things are being done nearby with development of an old empty house and hopefully resurfacing of side road. When that is done the outlook will improve.
Cons: Very little to complain about overall. Wine list could include some cheaper house wine .
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were looked after by Roxanne and treat to a fantastic meal cooked by Antoine. It’s a lovely family run hotel with fine dining
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing service. Very friendly staff. Nice location close to lake Breakfast was very tasty with great homemade pastries and bread.
Cons: No elevator made it hard for my old mom to climb up and down stairs. Luckily we were only on the second floor but they have a third floor. Shower on the small side especially if you are a little big... WiFi did not work during our visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, also spoke perfect English. When it did rain for one day, we were even provided with umbrellas. Ample free car parking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Service, comfort of bed, clean and renovated. Everything worked well. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Nothing much.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location with lake view, a short walk from the lake and the village. Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Good breakfast. “Queen Victoria stayed here.”
Cons: The weather was quite warm, so we had to keep a window open. The hotel is on the road leading to the Tunnel du Chat, so there was a bit of road noise, especially from about 5am onwards.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent stay for activities around the lake.
Cons: All was fine on the hotel. The little town around does close early, so think of dinner early
9.5 Excellent
Pros: An old building which has been restored sympathetically Lovely big room bathroom and comfy beds Very welcoming family run Good simple breakfast
Cons: Room 4 is on the road side therefore with windows open noisy. There isn’t air conditioning. I am sure we could have asked for a fan
10.0 Excellent

9.3 Excellent

6.3 Good
Pros: Jean Philipe tried to be a good host. Located in a pretty area near the French Alps. Comfortable bed. Tea and coffee in the room and adequate breakfast.
Cons: The facility is not ideal for a B&B. The bath is not en suite and the breakfast area is a table squeezed into the messy family living room. The access to the room is a steep, winding stairway making it difficult to get bags in and out. When we arrived, the trash from the previous (female) guest had not been cleared and no soap or drinking glass was provided, which is expected for the price. The initial impression of the outside is not appealing. No sign except for small hotel association sign on gate leading to small back yard, so we were unsure if this was the place. We would not stay here again.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had a very good time! Natascha and Jean Pierre make you feel very welcome. When we arrived we had a nice dinner. They gave good advice about what you can do. We went with our teenagers by bike to Chamery. You can lent the bikes. In the afternoon we went for a swim at a lake nearby. We also enjoyed the breakfast. The beds are also very comfortabel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very accommodating, nothing was to much trouble. The bedrooms were lovely, with very comfy beds and beautiful linen. Diner and breakfast were both delicious and plentiful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts, interesting property in a very nice area
Cons: Shower in bathroom could do with a mounting place
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Both speak good English. The property is v characterful and interesting. Breakfast was also excellent.
Cons: The only drawback was that the en-suite toilet had no door! I have had this in other French properties, but I find it a bit off putting.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very warm welcome, friendly and flexible host, offering more services than we coudl use becasue we were there for business with a full schedule. Good breakfast.
Cons: The toilets are a bit narrow especially when you travel with colleagues

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel has had a makeover since our last visit a few years ago and it looks great -far more attractive, fresh and modern! There are also many other improvements - kettles/coffee maker in the rooms, memory foam pillows and other little extras. The staff are welcoming, friendly, helpful, and professional. Beautiful location on the lake and easy to walk to the beaches, port, restaurants etc. Spa & pool are clean, well organised and all included in the price. Not cheap but good value for money.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A large, clear room with quiet air conditioning; the swimming pool open late; a fenced parking lot
Cons: The staff should enforce the swimming pool rules (no jumping for instance)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing...lovely airy room with fab view over the lake.
7.5 Good
Pros: We loved the view and the big balcony. The lake is very close.
Cons: The breakfast was pretty expensive so we didn't take this option
7.5 Good
Pros: The spa. The balcony. The parking. The A/C The WiFi
Cons: The state of the beds The slamming of the doors (2 of the doors on our hallway had the hydraulics broken and slammed so hard!) I mentioned it to the cleaning ladies, but they told me it was air currents.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from our room was fantastic, the room itself was huge and the underground car park was a bonus for us.
Cons: nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: The bar is left unattended for the majority of the time. To get a drink you have to ring a bell and hope someone comes to serve you.. which doesn’t always happen. You feel the bar is an inconvenience to the staff where as it should be the vibrant hub of the hotel
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice spacious rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful. the hotel located near the lake. plenty of car parking.
Cons: toilet is separate from washbasin
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, beautiful views and amazing spa facilities.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location for lakeside restaurants and activities. Good size balcony and huge bed. Not too busy although we stayed mid week. Wife enjoyed the spa facilities.
Cons: Difficult to find. Hotel sign directed us to Petit Port and you cannot drive into hotel that way. Sign posts leaving the hotel back to main road were also poor

5.8 Okay
Pros: It was not what we expected no restaurants nearby and no evening dining. We had to drive into Aix which meant no bottle of wine!!!! The staff werevery nice and the breakfast was good but very expensive for what it is.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very stylish and luxurious. Great views. Excellent breakfast (the eggs from their own chickens are amazing). Helps if you speak some french (it is France after all!)
Cons: Parking could be complicated in summer (but they do have a plan in place for this whereby keys are left and they can move them). No footpath at rear and no lift (we don’t think) so accessibility for children/wheelchairs may be difficult. (Apologies if we missed the lift!)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic and the stuff was very attentive and caring. We will definitely go back to this nice little charming hotel. Nice view to the lake and the mountains. The breakfast was great, they also have a nice selection of wine and champagne and the accommodation is really good.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room size and view Dog friendly
Cons: Can't think of anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, friendly staff, nice rooms
Cons: Lights in rooms quite dark
5.0 Okay
Pros: We loved the lake view and the balcony. It was a shame that there was also an unexpected view of the trainline too.
Cons: Having read some previous reviews and the horrific responses by the owners I am a bit reticent about making any comment at all as I can see that they don't take criticism well. A 12 euro taxi ride from town to hotel - 2 miles all uphill is far too far to walk unless very fit, which I am not. I suspect it is even further than that as a taxi took 10 minutes to get from the hotel to the station. The rooms were cold and the thermostat information was difficult to work out without any instructions provided. The noise of the trains was a problem. The pillows are only half pillows. I thought we were going to be staying somewhere special for a one-night treat but frankly it was a bit of a disappointment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views were amazing. Staff extremely helpful. Had a wonderful stay. Thank you
5.5 Okay
Pros: Wonderful Estate, high quality Pool and Sun beds. Beautiful Mountains and lake view.
Cons: We came in midnight, nobody in House, but it was agreed before, we have found out room. In beds we found dogs stains and hairs. We couldn't use balcony , because automatic blinds were closed by some mistake- two evenings we were separated from our balcony- it helps, if You want stop smoking during holidays. Last Pearl is small lift, which works, but is blocked. In night with luggage in hands believe me, steps are high and stairs are long. But it's written on website, so it's not main minus. You can see photos of dogs stains, hairs and blinds.
4.5 Okay
Pros: View of lake. Comfort of bed.
Cons: Very difficult access on foot. Busy main road with no footpath. Too far from town and port.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicely appointed
Cons: A lot of stairs

Pros: Spar area
Cons: No coffee tea facility in rooms
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Clean new design facility,
Cons: Breakfast was good but expensive
6.3 Good
Pros: The family room was a great
Cons: Apart from the family room, this is not a child-friendly place. This is a spa-type place and all the facilities like the swimming pool are for adults only.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Bed and shower were amazing! Small room, but provided every bit of comfort and luxury we could ask for on our way to the south.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: There is a proper breakfast. It is a good place for a stopover as it is close to the motorway.
Cons: A sign on the road pointing out where the hotel is.
7.5 Good
Pros: Handy location, just off the motorway. the facilities are lovely amd the garden terrace was a nice place to sit and enjoy the evening sun. Food was nice if a little on the costly side.
Cons: The rooms are described acuratly but i think the reality of the cabin feel is like a gally room, wouldn't have stayed more than the one night.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, clean small room.
Cons: Small room, boxed in bed.
7.5 Good
Pros: We were only looking for an overnight stay during our trip from Italy to home (Netherlands). It is very close to the highway, but the parking was very well hidden from external view, allowing us to leave all gear on the trailer we took.
Cons: It is not a silent environment. Quite some traffic noise, depending on what side of the hotel you stay.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The place had a real alpine feel & although arriving ten minutes before our restaurant booking, obviously worn out from our journey, were told not to rush, the table will be held until we were ready. The hotel had a buffet style breakfast, with a good selection to suite everybody.
Cons: Quite slow evening service in the restaurant.
