Rental pick up and drop off at different airports was quick and easy and all staff at Manchester and Philadelphia airports were helpful and friendly.

Hertz desk was unattended when I arrived, though every other rental car company’s desk was open. There was a sign to proceed to the garage. When I got there there was one man attending the booth and several people waiting. The process took about 40 minutes, an excessive amount of time in my opinion. Also, I had tried to call the Hertz office at the airport several times earlier in the day (4 times as I recall) and no one ever picked up.

I feel like I was tricked into buying insurance from a third party when I should have just bought it from enterprise directly. It would have been more complicated if ever there was an accident or I had to switch or cancel my reservation. I will just book directly with the company in the future.

pick up was good in milford

Cons:

the office for the drop off in providance was closed and did not have a key return - I had a train leaving 15 minutes before the office opened. I ended up leaving the key with the building security guard who gave it to the staff when the office upened. It made me uncomfortable and I was disapointed

Reserved a 12-passenger van for 7 weeks. Avis will only give you a rental agreement for 30 days. I was told they would automatically email a new rental agreement for the remaining time. That didn’t happen. It took COUNTLESS phone calls, two visits back to the pickup location to get the updated agreement. Avis customer service in a word, sucks. Twice the agents hung up on me. I was transferred around so many times my head was spinning. Oh, I almost forgot about the certified letter demanding that I return a vehicle that wasn’t due back. I will not use Avis again, which is too bad — they used to be a decent rental car company to do business with.

OUR FLIGHT WAS LATE GETTING INTO PHX AND WE HAD TO BE DIRECTED THROUGH WASHINGTON, DC TO OUR DESTINATION MHT. WE CALLED AVIS AND THAT WE WOULD BE GETTING IN AFTER 11 PM./ THEY ASSURED US THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE ABLE TO ASSIST US TO PICK UP OUR VEHICLE. WHEN WE ARRIVED NO ONE WAS THERE,SO WE HAD TO GO TO HERTZ TO RENT ONE OF THEIR VEHICLES. I CALLED THE NEXT DAY TO CANCEL THE AVIS VEHICLE. HOPEFULLY, YOU'LL CONTACT THEM AND LET THEM KNOW THAT IT ISN'T GOOD POLICY TO GO BACK ON THEIR WORD.

Clean and newer car. Pick up was smooth.

Cons:

Drop off required going back inside to the desk. Took longer than when you can just get a receipt in the parking lot.

drop off was great and easy, the usual check over the car and then you were free to catch the plane.

Cons:

pick up was much slower than it could have been- just one person at the counter handling two different car rental companies.

Car was wonderful. When we picked it up it looked new in a poorly lit garage. When in bright daylight we noticed that the car had been side swiped. We returned to the rental agency and was told that an insurance claim had already been filed. That should have been brought to our attention at pick up time. On returning the auto we had been told where to go and that the kiosk had a place to leave the keys. There was no secure place to leave the keys so we left them under the seat. Other than those two issues we were very pleased with the car as it had many safety features
