We clearly asked for a vehicle that sat 8. Since we have 8 in our family. They promised us such a vehicle. They failed to deliver. And they could not have cared less. So we drove around all weekend with two kids strapped into one seat, dangerous and illegal. We had no recourse.Cons:

The check in took forever, one slow person working. Checking out was easy. What was bad was an extra $750 charge, that we noticed on our credit card 5 days later. When we called they said it's because we returned it to the wrong city. Which was in correct according to my reservation. Also we only rented it to drive a one hour trip. The employee who I called on Sun. AM to advise him that NV. 93 out of Wells was CLOSED due to a dam bursting (!!!), and that I needed to let them know this would cause me to have to re-route through Salt Lake City to Hwy. 15 Northbound & possibly miss my 5 PM. dropoff Sun. at Butte airport said, "no problem, just drop the keys in the box with your paperwork, we will be closed and we don't know what time you dropped it off because we are closed." BUT- he was there when I got to the airport at 10 PM, accepted the keys, chatted about the fact I had called the day BEFORE and then handed me the receipt- and I didn't read it till the next day ( sorry, I was a LITTLE tired) when I saw they had thoughtfully CHARGED ME FOR AN ENTIRE NEXT DAY! So I went back Monday morning to ask them to correct it- and the same employee who I had called Sat., dropped off the truck to Sun. said the manager would be in later and could be help me? I said I thought it was WRONG to charge me for another whole day when I had CALLED THEM TO ASK FOR A LATE DROPOFF & HAD BEEN TOLD IT WAS NO PROBLEM! He shrugged, and said I needed to speak with the manager. So I called later Mon. (no manager, same guy answered) and then Tuesday (no manager, same guy answered) I am not a whiner, but $280 extra after being told all was well? Mystery manager, not there when I was told to call back- twice? I am usually easy to please but this one frosts my cake... Will call Avis corporate and actually write a letter.Cons:

Cahill and Silas found me a good rate and cleaned the car before giving it to me. My Ford Explorer had Sirius/XM, which was fun as I drove across the country.Cons:
On a car with fewer than 2,000 miles, I was astonished to get a flat tire. Even worse, it turned out that my rental had no spare tire! No full-size, no "doughnut" size either! Roadside assistance was courteous, but it was estimated to be 4-5 hours before a new vehicle could be delivered. Instead, I drove to a nearby Sears Tire store. Still, the flat delayed my trip by 3.5 hours.6.4 Okay

I reserved an intermediate car and got a Nissan Sentra. Is that really an intermediate car? It seemed overpriced for the size and features (no satellite radio, etc). It was late at night and the parking lot was kind of far from the desk so I really didn't have an incentive to complain to the desk clerk. I waited at the counter at Helena Airport for almost half an hour before anyone showed up. I called the number on te sign at the counter No answer. I called the 800 number, spoke to a person, put on hold, disconnected by rating message. The attendant at the Avis counter went to look for the attendant, no luck.
