I booked through Kayak and upon arrival at my destination they informed me they didn't accept the payment type I carry. “If you had booked through our website you would have known that.” I was really frustrated and thankful another company had me covered and even price-matched so I wasn't bent over a barrel due to the situation.
The price was excellent, and I received a free upgrade to a Jeep Compass. I was able to pick up at one airport, and drop off another. Best rental car experience I've had- I wish they were all like this!

I asked for a full size car, was given a compact SUV, was told that was an upgrade. Negative, the Chevy Malibu I requested has more cubic square feet over all than that compact SUV. We had a wedding party for our daughter's wedding and wanted the space, but I could barely get our luggage in this compact, much less more people with room.

This was at Glacier National Airport in Kalispell, MT. Made the reservation with Avis because the value was reasonable and they were open at 8 AM when I needed to pick up the car and make it to an appointment. Arrived at 8 AM and two people at the counter, neither of which could rent me the car because they did not work the front desk. They said the person was running late and would be in shortly. Thirty minutes later, the front desk person was still not there. Could not wait any longer so I went to Budget and they had just what I needed and for the same price. Avis lost the rental and a customer.

The tires on my rental required filling every other day. As soon as I left the lot, the tire light came on....luckily nothing happened and they didn’t deflate completely but I still feel like this should have been looked at prior to me driving

Pickup took over 1.5 hours. Vehicles were returned late due to travel delays and as a result we were waiting in baggage claim for our car in FCA for over 90 minutes. And had to wait for a second car because of a faulty back seat issue.

Passenger van
The van I rented was not available. But the associate I worked with me to rent me two cars for a cheaper price. That came with pros like more luggage space but having two cars was not ideal for my group. Thank you to the associates who did everything in her power to try to solve the van issue for me. Lastly, I did not like that both cars I was given had damage. One had a cracked windshield and the other’s plastic step to get into the car was cracked on the passenger side.
at drop off, I explained that the gas tank was FULL. After reviewing the bill before boarding my flight, I discovered that I was charged for the cost of $97 for fuel. I had to go back to the agent (behind the security) and she corrected it. I find this annoying as it is a basic component of checking out a rental car. Other attendants go over the statement LINE by LINE. Not at this station. Peculiar, With kind regards, Roger van den Bergh

Although the interior of the car was not as clean as I would have liked, I realize it's not business as usual at this time. The price for the SUV was excellent, but that was due to reserving the vehicle 11 months in advance. The ridiculously low price was honored when I arrived and pick-up and drop-off took no time at all. Again, this was in Kalispell, MT in a very small airport. After hearing horror stories of vehicle shortages at agencies, my biggest fear was there being no vehicle at all when I arrived. I phoned Thrifty at the airport 2 weeks before my trip and was assured there were plenty of SUVs.

Thrilled to get a vehicle at all, but the expense for 2 days was extraordinary. A lot of confusion about whether the vehicle was at or off-airport. The reservation email sent us to town some 10 miles away for pick up which was at the airport. Some confusion about returning the vehicle and depositing the key inside at the vacant kiosk. The vehicle was clean and worked well, and almost an essential component for a visit to Kalispell and environs.
The car was nice. The process of getting it was a headache. I did not pick it up through national it changed hands to two other companies before we finally figured out who I was to pick it up from which turned out to be Avis. Due to weather I had to change drop off location. It took forever to get ahold of a representative to make this change. Different ethnicities made it very difficult to understand what they were saying.
