When it comes to renting a car in Munich, you need to take advantage of the quality German vehicles on offer – try out a reliable BMW or Mercedes. Navigating Munich means abiding by the federally mandated speed limit of 31 mph. When you drive within the city’s limits, you must be careful to stick to the speed limit, as going over by 3 mph can already result in a speeding ticket. It’s best to slow down and obey the traffic laws, in the city center. If you want to go at a faster pace, then get on the surrounding autobahns, where the suggested speed limits are around 80 mph but drivers legally have the option of going as fast as 200 mph.
Munich offers visitors various types of parking. Depending on the areas you want to visit, there are parking zones with differing tariffs. On average, garages in the city center will cost from €3.00 – €4.00 ($3.40 - $4.54) per hour or €20.00 ($22.70) for the day. You can also find large parking lots on Adolf Kolping Strasse and Max Joseph Platz. It’s best to avoid parking in the Old Town as it’s full of one-way streets that offer little in the way of parking.

I was charged $890 after I dropped off the car, almost three time what I had already pre-paid, with no explanation of what the charges were for. When I noticed the charge on my card within minutes, I immediately sent them an e-mail requesting justification for the charge. 9 days later, still silent6.0 Okay

Pros:
The car was good. We rented a van that seats 7 to have extra room for luggage. We were at the Munich Airport location.Cons:
Our travel plans were changed due to a flight cancellation, so we tried calling Avis and they were useless and rude. They told us the only option was to take a taxi to the original location and take our chances that they held the car. We did that and waited in the Avis line for 2.5 HOURS! The price ended up more than expected, wish we would have just flown and taken the train.10 locations in Munich

Cons:
Address on reservation didn’t match the actual location of drop off. Drop off was located almost three blocks in a different area and was extremely difficult to find as it’s all located around a very busy city and train station. We also didn’t have cell service so we couldn’t just look up a different address.6.0 Okay
