Blue lanes are for buses, only turn left if you see a green arrow in the traffic light or when there is a sign you can turn left, we used naver maps for navigation which is amazing once you get it to understand where you are going.

KAYAK’s top tips for renting a car in Seoul

  • Seoul, South Korea is a huge city, and there’s no better way to explore it than with Seoul car rentals. Seoul does have public transport, but it can take a while to get where you’re going if you’re relying on preset timetables, and it also tends to get quite crowded. Seoul car rentals can take you across the city quickly and easily so you have enough flexibility and comfort to enjoy your trip. For example, the Gocheok Sky Dome baseball field is much easier to reach if you have car rentals in Seoul as it is located on the southern outskirts of the city. You may also want to visit Lotte World Tower, located on the eastern outskirts.
  • If you’re flying into Seoul, you’ll be landing at either Incheon International Airport (ICN) or Gimpo International Airport (GMP). ICN has two agencies onsite: SK Rent-a-car and Lotte Rent-a-car, which have branches both in Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In Terminal 1, you’ll find them on the first floor near entrance 2, and in Terminal 2, they’re on the West Side of Transportation Center B1. At GMP, Lotte Rent-a-car, SK Rent-a-car, and Gogo Rent a Car are all in the general waiting room for domestic flights between Gates 3 and 5.
  • Driving is generally safe with car rentals in Seoul. In South Korea, they drive on the right side of the road and South Koreans generally follow rules quite strictly, so be sure to adhere to all posted speed limits and signs. To drive in South Korea, you must be at least 21 years old and the country also has a zero tolerance policy for drinking and driving. This means it is illegal to have any alcohol in your system when you get behind the wheel.
  • Just like any other city, Seoul has morning and evening rush hours that can present difficulty when driving in your Seoul car rentals. Try to avoid driving car rentals in Seoul between the hours of 6:30 am and 9 am, and again between 5 pm and 7 pm. If you must drive during these hours, try to at least avoid the areas around the busiest commuter stations: Yeouido Station and Gangnam Station.
