The only staff I ever saw was at the Check-In Desk. Waited an hour to have an iron delivered to the room. Waited over an hour for car to be dispatched from valet. There was no "welcome to our hotel" from anyone, it was essentially "you're on your own here".
Swanky, under-stated elegance and unique. Greeted the moment we arrived. Great vibe. Nice scenic walk to North End of Michigan Ave (aka miracle mile) and restaurants.
Parking in the area is expensive!!...Valet is the only option.
It's a very unique hotel where are you and features and close to everything downtown
I was very unhappy when they gave my credit card information to a third party
Loved the serene decor.
Shower turned to very cold water.
The library bar and pump room bar were fabulous. Food and cocktails amazing. Great energy throughout the hotel. Fabulous location near both Lincoln Park and the Lake. Very welcoming to solo business/leisure visitors. Great place to work at during the day.
The rooms were okay. A little run down (stains on the floor, chipped furniture). I received a good deal on the cost of my room, but wouldn't pay the full price for one of their rooms. But you may really be paying for the location and great food/bar scene.
They could have at least had free coffee. $7 for morning coffee in a hotel is a little steep.
Likes: Great bedding, comfortable room, cool, rustic elevator, great restaurant, beautiful neighborhood, beautiful entry and lobby. Our dinner was memorable: great service, interesting food, beautiful presentation!
Dislikes: very rude parking attendant, expensive parking
First time to Public and it was a nice, contemporary, haven of refuge from the frenetic City! Loved the "Pump Room" as well as the much used "Library". All very stylish and welcoming. Liked that the clientel dressed up! Staff very helpful with planning activities, too! Set in a lovely tree lined and lush upscale neighborhood! Loved the backlights!
No Bathrobes in the room.
Service was always nice and informative. Attractive room. Library bar was a fun place to drink. Comfortable/ large bed. Clean nearly everywhere.
A/C didn't feel like it would cool the room properly. Maybe a ceiling fan or some additional airflow would be great. No bathroom vent, which is okay, but very steamy showers.
The hotel lobby it's beautiful, very modern. The staff's service was amazing, everybody was extremely nice and helpful. Personally I love the bed and the pillows, they were super comfy. The rooms have a very cool design. I would definetely come back.
The bad thing about our room was that it had a funky fresh paint like smell. And the hotel it's a little far away from the touristy areas.
When I registered they gave my room away and I had to be moved to another-------hotel to my shock!!! I checked in at 11pm and was worn out after flying in.. And could not believe this... This has never happened to me!!!!!
We loved the location and the valet staff that helped us get taxis and directed us in the right location for certain sights/ restaurant. The lights built in to the bed frame and dresser are stellar and kinda romantic. The pump room has some delicious food.
The pillows. They are thin and down. We requested non-down pillows...this took two calls to the front desk. When they arrived only one was a non-down pillow and it was just as bad. If you like feather pillows, stay here.
THe hotel lobby, bar and Pump Room are very cool.
The elevators are old and small. My room had a bed in it, and was barely bigger than the bed. It has a small desk and it felt like I was sleeping in a converted closet. Not even a clock. It goes way beyond minimalistic.
