It was such an amazing experience ... We had a great experience. We've been invited to a music night organized in the BnB, we received a lot of good tips on how to visit Chicago. Every breakfast was such a great moment: great food, great people (Mel over all) -- best experience in a BnB ever
The place is just great. Innkeeper Mell and his son Jimmy are wonderful people and they made us feel ar home. Mell prepares the breakfast himself and he is just wonderful. Place is full of antiquities, posters, nice music.
It is sad to hear that Place will be closed after August.
The breakfast was much more and personal than I expected. I am a vegetarian and Mel made sure to accommodate my palate. The house was beautifully decorated, with items from the “Bronzeville” history and jazz, different masks and antiques. Mel sat with my friend and I and we talked for hours. My friend and I felt very comfortable and safe in the house and in the neighborhood. Jimmy, the housekeeper, was friendly and welcoming as well. He even went outside during a heavy rain and clear any debris from the gutters to help reduce flooding.
American Style cooked with Muesli etc
We had to pay for all three nights the day we reserved them. There was no exception at all for emergencies. After we stayed at this place for one night we had to return because our child was in the hospital. I probably would not stay here again because there’s no exception for emergencies.
