The hotel was super clean and quiet. The front desk did not have anyone there when I arrived but I only had to wait about 5 minutes. The room I stayed in had one bed and was small.
I called Motel 6 directly and asked to book a queen room as advertised on Kayak. The operator told me that this location did not have queen beds at all. I took my chances and booked a queen room through Kayak. Upon arrival, I let the front desk know what the operator said about their rooms. The attendant upgraded my room from a queen to King and let me know all about their rooms. It's was really nice!
The room was quoted for a good price for the area We purchased a Queen room on line and the manager/owner put us in a room with a double bed. When we brought this to his attention he said he was sold out -- take it or leave it. Later I heard another clerk offer a two double bed room to a new customer (so the manager/owner lied to us prior, as well as trying to sneak us into a lower level/ smaller room than we paid for) Ultimately, he unhappily moved us to the larger room when we found out the truth. Also, our room was right on Newport Bld. and very exposed to loud cars and a drunk guy that wandered off the street and knocked on our door - which we didn't answer.
The flooring The room needs some over head lighting.
Newly remodeled rooms and the guest were quiet Parking lot always full
Good location if you have a car. Some reviews say parking lot is small but it's fine. Saw trucks parked in some spots. Friendly staff. Good price. Basic room but has fridge and microwave. Ok bed. Outdoor pool. My room was clean. Iron available at front desk. No alarm clock in room. One small table bolted to wall. WiFi ok for basic websites but streaming was not that good.
Was pleasantly surprised to find a fridge and microwave in the room. The staff was friendly and efficient. I received the wifi password w/o having to ask for it, which is always a good thing. The only complaint I had was the peeling paint and other damage to the wall in the bathroom/shower area.
clean, super friendly staff, room was very beautiful, bed was comfortable, easy to access Absolutely nothing!
The rooms were just okay... It's simply a renovated Ramada Inn. The shower head is on the ceiling... With that said if your hair is straighten or you're African-American and not necessarily inclined to get ur hair wet this is not the hotel for u. It's impossible to shower in an overhead shower without getting hair wet while wearing those cheap transparent shower caps. The front desk clerk didn't seem to understand my issue... Perhaps because she wore long curly hair... I assume that's why she didn't empathize
Nice decor. About 20 min drive from disneyland and 20 min from huntington. Clean interior.
The modern clean look No Complaints
It was modern in decoration Smelled, tv didnt work, toilet broke and leaked all over the bathroom
Rooms were very clean Pillows are not very comfortable
I like the cleanliness of the room, friendly staff and felt very safe.
Bathrooms need updating,
when we checked in hotel had not received payment from you and took us 20 minutes to get set up which was a not good as we were rushing to a dinner party.
Bed was new rooms were remodeled
I liked how when I got there, the woman at the front desk was very nice. She was also accomodating for us to be in the farthest back room away from the demo that they had goong on. We ended up booking for a couple more days and then after for a couple after we stayed with family for a night. The room was cool, modern and very clean. The rooms are accessed from the outside, which is always a plus to me to not have to walk through a huge building. The pool and jacuzzi were nice and clean. I liked the overall modern look of the hotel and would stay here again in the future. There really wasn't anything that I could find that wasn't up to par for this type of hotel. I was very satisfied.
The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. Checked out at 6:45 in the morning, and the only thing available for breakfast was coffee.
My room was very dark and dingy
The room was much nicer than what we would have expected for a Super 8: clean, spacious, quiet. Breakfast was great, including waffles, bagels, toast, cereal, pastries, oatmeal, and yogurt. Check in and check out was quick, though somebody does come up to inspect the room during checkout, so make sure you are completely ready to go.
Convenient location. Basic room for a decent price. Handicapped accessible room had a deep whirlpool tub and no roll in shower. Carpet could use a deep cleaning.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean and comfortable big and roomy
Goo customer service Wss a none smoking area and it smelled like smoke, towels horrible, rough and hard. Not enough parking area. Too expensive for the horrible hotel
Liked color scheme and that the hotel was renovated. The pool was in good condition. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The location is very convenient to shopping, By the highway and the coast. The neighborhood is nice. Did not sleep very well.. Pillows were very flat And cheap. Toilet was not working properly. Shower head was ideal for midgets.
The motel was clean and comfortable. It is no frills, but quite respectable.
Staying with my boyfriend, we wanted a cheap place close to the beach. For a motel, it was in good shape and was all we needed for our few nights. Rooms were tiny, but had everything we needed and were comfortable. Wood floors made it seem more modern, and the simplicity was nice. The bed was comfortable and it seemed nice and clean. Ten minute drive from Huntington Beach was easy and free parking is a plus! I am picky when it comes to showers, and the nozzle was low and I didn't have enough towels. After being at the beach, it was hard to rinse my hair out, but it did not effect my overall comfort level of my stay. Still an awesome cheap hotel.
Convenient, inexpensive, quick booking, location, quiet, bouncy beds, clean room, great remodel. Scratchy towels. No shampoo.
I ask for a easy access and they gave me a handicap room the room with 2 bed was very reduce in space, old furniture, no dresser, no free wifi i wish i could say you get wat you pay for but in pay 84dlls per night so it was not cheap, i have pay lower rates in other cities and way better service with continental breakfast so NOT STAYING HERE AGAIN
Pet friendly And nice area. Close to stores restaurant and park. Cockroaches and ants got into the dog food.
Great customer service Lots of hair underneath bed and on floor
The location was good and the room decor looked modern. The parking lot was large so it was easy to find a spot. There were a lot of food choices nearby. The beds were uncomfortable and squeaked every time you moved, the wood floors were really dirty - within 10 minutes of walking on the floor with white socks the bottoms were black. There were dead bugs in the corners and live bugs at night. The AC didn't work very well. The bedding sheets were rough and the blankets were paper thin. The shower trickled out water and the shower heads were really low - even for me and I'm 5'5.
The room was clean, remodeled, hardwood floors, and really a great value for the price. Front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and a gas station next door. About 5-10 minutes from newport beach, 20 minutes from Anaheim convention center and disneyland. Double bed room is small. Beds are close to side walls. Still a great room and would stay here again.
I chose the Bay Shores Peninsula on a whim, and boy was that a good gamble! The place is really quaint, staff is amazingly kind and attentive, and our room was perfect. There's not a lot of space in the rooms that goes to waste, nice sized closet with small fridge and safe, bathroom clean and well appointed, they even had a little nook turned into a dressing table for us ladies, complete with plugs and a coffeemaker. Good TV plus on demand channels and a wall of DVD movies in the lobby you can borrow. The rooftop lounge area is perfect for morning coffee or evening wine. The breakfast buffet was nice, quite a few choices and good coffee to boot. Plus they make fresh cookies every day, I mean really, it's like visiting family. Parking was a little lacking because there is construction happening, but that is truly out of their control and the staff helps out with that piece as much as they can. We will definitely be back!
The Bay Shore Peninsula Hotel is probably the friendless hotel we have ever stayed at, if not #1 it's tied for #1. Extremely convenient to the beach, shopping, dozens of restaurants and whatever you might need are probably within walking distance.
I didn't like a single thing. Rooms were filthy. Complained immediately and was moved to a room just as bad. Attempted to take pictures but the lighting was so bad they didn't come out. We left and didn't stay at all. Very in inconvenient. The person working there and the customer service from kayak and priceline was horrible. Will be disputing the charge with my credit card company as we didn't use this hotel. Poor service from hotel staff. Kayak customer service and priceline cust service.
Everything. Clean with all needed amenities. Comfortable bed with choice of soft and firm pillows. Very friendly staff. Buffet breakfast provided excellent.
It's a great hotel all around That I accidentally locked myself on the patio without a way to get back in
Room was smaller than I thought it would be.
First off location is ideal being just a short drive from the beach without paying a beach premium and if you factor in the free all you can eat breakfast it can't be beat. For being off a main street like Beach Blvd it's extremely quite in the room we had no problem sleeping in the nice clean bed. Also with stores like target across the street and Walmart a few minutes away we could easily find anything we forgot to pack. It's close to great restaurants and the room has a fridge and microwave so you can take leftovers back to the hotel for a late night snack. All in all its a nice hotel at a great price. Hotel is a little older so you notice wear on things.
nice rooms it is far away from the city centre
Location, it caters to the beach, eateries, pertty much everything in Newport. My Wife and I are always out and about when we are in CA. So all we need is a room to sleep. Don't need a pool because the beach is walking distance. Don't need breakfast because you have all sorts of selection of great food around you. Don't need an gym because you can cruise on a bike or take a walk/run on the beach. Best fits our needs Because it's on the main Blvd, noise can be an issue. I'm guessing depend on which room you are in. Do have firm beds, which I prefer but the wife didn't. Personal preference I guess
Convenient to have bikes to borrow on site. Breakfast could have had more variety & to have somewhere to sit & enjoy breakfast / trays to take food to your room to eat on the lovely balcony would have been an advantage.
The place was extremely quiet. Hardly anyone was there. It had a desk that was great for working. The place was clean. Excellent value for the money. The wifi Internet was horribly slow, felt like dial up.
I loved that they let me check in at 7 am. Check I was supposed to be at 2 but due to my work and lack of sleep, I was able to check in
The shower was equipped with hand rails and bench Check out time was 11am.
Good value for the dollar. Reasonably clean and friendly.
Kitchenette They were as rude and unfriendly and down right cold hearted as it comes.to start it off my mom used her credit card to book room and I gave her cash .the occupants were to be my wife me and 6 year old son.three days into our stay while I was a work my wife and son demagnitized there room key while swimming.manager would not rekey her card and made our small child freeze for four hours while my mom finally got there to get key. Then on check out day I was at work and they denied her a late check out and made them sit outside with all our belongings in the cold I arrived at 1145 to get them and they didn't even need the room it was still uncleaned
We saw bad and good reviews, so we were not sure about the place, it said it was remodel and we gave it a shot. And we had a good experience. Rooms look pretty clean and for a good price. The neighborhood is not the best, but we had no problem with anybody inside or outside the motel.
There was nothing I liked besides the housekeeper The front manager was not only unhelpful but rude there was no late checkout I had to pay for my remote control and my tv still did not work for the first night and I was still charged after requesting that I be credited because I was unable to use the remote. They finally with a great deal of noise on their part came to my room and fixed the tv. The atmosphere outside scared me I felt like I was unsafe and my belongings in my car and my car itself was unsafe after the first night I just wanted to leave but couldn't get my money back and couldn't afford to go elsewhere. This place in general was dirty, and scary and the employees that run the front end are rude and can barely speak English. I trusted kyack to not have crack hotels on its lists and I was sorely mistaken. I will not make that mistake again!
Great service, friendly, clean room, very spacious, near a bunch of restaurants, gas stations, and freeway. I don't like that they charge your card first when you make the reservation.
The room was clean & room service was kind and professional. The "free breakfast" they advertise was just cereal, some hard bagels, white bread and stale mini muffins. NOT happy about that. They don't stock up the rooms with enough towels in the bathrooms.
Drug deals going on said it was close to Disneyland it's super far they said check in at 3 my room wasn't ready till 5:30pm so we were exhausted with our children outside asleep in the car cause his staff was on lunch he said
The front desk staff, both night & morning, were professional & polite. No problems there. The door wasn't secure when I arrived, and I had some trouble getting back in when I had to step out for a bit. The worst part of the experience was the prostitutes that knocked on my door, while I was trying to get some rest, asking me if I "wanted to party". Apparently, the guy next door did, because the headboard of his bed kept slamming into the wall all night!
Convenience and price Kinda run down
Comfortable, clean and safe.
The most comfortable bed and wonderful pillows
It was very clean and we also liked that it had a microwave and fridge.
I liked that it was close to the beach and that the lady at the front desk was fast and friendly. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. There wasn't anything that bugged me enough to say I didn't like it.
Great Location, clean rooms. The elevator being on the other building was a pain due to the amount of luggage we had. When leaving we just carried everything down the stairs. Back parking lot was full of couches, tables etc. looked ghetto for where we were.
The breakfast was good, rooms were very nice, clean Parking sucks, only one elevator
We love the location and the friendly staff. Our shower was clogged and never drained properly
The location was only 10 minutes from Main St. Room was clean overall and staff was friendly. No charge for parking which was a HUGE plus. Basic continental breakfast. Nonsmoking room still had a cigarette smell. Don't come here if you're trying to have a fancy stay somewhere. It costs less for a reason. We stayed for an overnight trip and it fit what we wanted perfectly.
Attractive outside after remodel. Great TV, coffee pot, refrigerator, new countertop at sink. Shower and bed okay. Decor was okay. Lighting was all in the ceiling (not one lamp) and dreary. No makeup light. No hair dryer. Based on how my socks looked, the plastic laminate floor had not been mopped in a while.
Room and property overall were very clean. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pillows were flat and not very comfortable at all.
Clean rooms, friendly staff. The bed was comfortable, not a lot of amenities, but if you want to spend your money on things other than your sleeping, this is a good place. Borders the parking lot of a WalMart, so leave the toiletries at home and go there for travel sized shampoo and soap. They do provide these but I like a bit more shampoo for my hair. Has a mini fridge so you can stash some night time beer or soda, there is a nice coffee place very nearby for morning coffee. We will stay there again, 3 miles from the beach Pier, it's all good. Can't think of anything.
