Climate control only works in 2 degree increments. Most newer models do a half a degree or one degree. Two degree is a pretty large for a newer model.

Every piece of equipment in the workout room was broken. Breakfast was terrible. Waffle mix was so watery that you could not make. No selection!!

Professional attentive desk staff, efficient and courteous housekeeping, breakfast served fresh and attended constantly by a nice lady who constantly checked to be sure every item was refilled and tidy. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Entrance is hard to see at night as the sign is small with minimal lighting. Area is wooded so the minimalist entry is attractive but easy to miss.

I was really pleased with the new renovations over the last months as I've stayed there for 5 years on visits. New furniture, paint, carpet, etc. is very well done. New computer section is a welcome change. All good things!

My only complaint was that when I put the card on the bed for NOT to redo the linens, they never then even made the bed. Not in 4 days there.

The value per night was adequate.

The lobby was nice, neat and clean. Unfortunately, the rest of the hotel is none of the above. The hallways NEED new carpet and lighting. The rooms need new carpet, wallpaper/paint, ceiling repair and repaint, bathroom fixture repair and updating, more outlets, better lighting fixtures (plugging and unplugging lamps to turn them on and off is a bit offputting) and the bedding needs to be refurbished and replaced. Other than that, it was fine.

Dirty tissue left on floor. Too much bad cleaner smell. Overpowered the room. Not an overall safe feel. Non-smoking room but cigarette butts all over the place nearby. TV didn't work. Bad paint job.

The room was clean, everything was freshly painted, and it was right next to the office. The room was quiet, you couldn't hear the road noise.

There was termite damage on the baseboards of the room, and instead of being replaced, they were just painted over. The paint was chipping in places. The peephole for the door was painted over also. You couldn't see outside the room.

staff not helpful. Hotel dirty. Did not get a roll away bed which we were promised. Old and used up. Carpet filthy. Will never stay here again.

Room is very comfortable with enough electrical outlets! Staff is dedicated to customer satisfaction. Great breakfast buffet with the best omelet chef in the world. Two excellent restaurants within walking distance. Central location if you're traveling between Raleigh and Durham.

A bit pricey.

We expected more from our stay.

Check in was smooth. There were no problems or restrictions for checking in late. We actually stayed another night. The air conditioner worked well.

The bed pillows were terribly flat. We had to stuff the pillow cases with blankets and towels. Also the front desk person tried to charge me 3 extra dollars for an additional night's stay! After I protested he changed the price back to original price.

Front desk did not understand that the customer should always get a copy of the receipt when checking out for their records.

Check in was great....room was very clean and nicely appointed...location was handy to Chapel Hill and Durham...pool was small but ok...breakfast was fine - lots of choice....not all carbs....all in all good value - was at a family wedding and worked out very well...

Fitness centre was okay...old equipment...but all working and no one else was there so not an issue...

The hotel was clean, roomy and the king bed was huge! The staff was friendly and helpful, coffee in the lounge was good in the morning. We missed breakfast so I cannot comment on that. Overall good value, pleasant stay, and I would recommend it. My only negative comment was that it was somewhat far from the event I had attended and it took a while to get a cab but it really didn't bother me too much.

The room set up was nice and open. The bed was so comfortable. I didn't want to get up.

The only thing that I noticed, even though the bedding was cleaned; the fitted sheet was stained.

1 vending machine with 1 slot for water for the whole motel. Not surprisingly, it was sold out. When I asked if there was anywhere else bottled water was available they said no. Then, when I went to print boarding pass, there was no ink cartridge in the printer and they had no replacement available

We really liked the proximity from I-40 and also convenient from I-85. The free breakfast was great. The room was clean. Parking lot was well lit and it was just a great place to stay for the price!

The bed was comfortable to my back . The service was great! The staff asked if it was anything they could do to make my our stay better just let them know. I thought that was a nice gesture.

The only thing i didn't like was when we were leaving around noon a cleaning crew were mopping and I thought that was dangerous to the custoners.

My first room was dirty. It needed to be swept and the sink needed to be clean thoroughly in the kitchen. Ashes on the bathroom floor. Hallway dirty. Near the elevator you can see caked on dirt. My 2nd room the couch was dirty looking. The toilet seat not thoroughly clean. No wash rags, cabinets needed to be wiped down and hair on the towels.

We checked in Friday night after 2am (early Saturday morning) paid for 2 nights and didnt have to check out until Monday at 11 am

The "no-smoking" rooms smell smokes, weeds.

The bed was comfortable and had 5 pillows. There was a huge mall close by with restaurants and a movie theater.

The air conditioner/heater in the room should be cleaned.

As a family we stayed at Fairfield Inn and Suites/Durham before and we had a great experience then: its location, indoor pool, staff and all worked great for us. Because of our previous experience we booked our second visit at the same hotel but this time it was not as pleasant as it was before. When we arrived around @2 pm we were told that there were multiple early check ins before our arrival and they only had one room available, which was on the first floor, near the elevator and overlooking the construction section of the patio/pool area and since we did not want to wait (unspecified period of time) for more room options we agreed to take that particular room, which overall was upsetting because we were trying to check in at a more appropriate time rather than early. The day after right after the breakfast we had to leave and did not come back until it was almost 6pm to find out that our room was not cleaned, serviced or anything. The lady at the front desk was very nice and she told me that she can provide me some extra towels but unfortunately the cleaning staff was already gone for the day and our room could not be serviced until the day after. In addition to all that, the day after my 4 year old daughter wanted to go in the pool, which is one of the reasons that we picked this hotel but there were no pool towels available at the pool. Once again when I went to the front desk they told me that the pool towels are on their way and they told us to go ahead and enjoy the pool and someone will be bringing the towels shortly. Well… after almost an hour we still did not get our pool towels and my daughter was shivering… when I ran to the front desk, that time they told me that the towels were still in the dryer. Finally I gave up and went upstairs and got our regular bath towels. Very disappointing. Very different experience from the first time.

Convenient location, nice building. Kids loved the breakfast. Very helpful staff. Would stay there again.

Room AC seemed to need an update, but eventually cooled down.

Staff was friendly and efficient. Room was spacious and comfortable. Beds were better than ours at home! Seperate water closet and shower area, would be perfect if traveling with family or with multiple groups in your party! Will stay here everytime I visit Durham!

That I was only able to stay 1 night! Wish I had a longer vacation!

There was a shooting at 3:00 am and the hotel was surrounded by the police for hours!!

Stayed over night with a Grandmother, 1 year old and 4 year old kids, was provided with a crib free of charge, the pool was amazing and had some float noodles provided. Loved that they offered complimentary happy hour! Very quick and accommodating staff. Was best hotel stay I've ever had.
