An older facility just one step up from a budget motel but best location near uva
I stayed at UVA for nearly a month on-campus for a teaching seminar. For my last night in town, we stayed here, and it was excellent. Staff members were accommodating and polite. They helped us check in early. They even gave our little dog some water and treats. Even though the price was higher than normal that weekend, it was still a great value. You can't beat the proximity to UVA and the Corner. Breakfast was complimentary and great! It's an older building, but the renovations are nice! The bathrooms are tiny, but it's to be expected at an older place. Nothing too bad to say about this place, especially on a weekend when the prices are lower. Definitely good for a short stay, too.
Great for the location and proximity to the campus. Not elegant, but good for families with kids. A bit dingy. Beds run on the small side.
Renovations were clean. Location was great! Staff was helpful.
Great location. Older hotel but nice accommodations. Continental breakfast is available but went next door to the diner. Would stay here again.
Price was great for last minute needs. The breakfast was a very nice surprise, hot and good selections. The staff was out of this world. The beds could use a pillow top for a tad more comfort
A converted motel. Good location especially for UVA athletic events. A decent room at reasonable price. Mediocre facilities and breakfast. Old fashioned bathroom. Only one person at front desk even in the morning.
Rooms must have their curtains drawn at all times to maintain privacy - that makes the room very dark & dull. Choice of cable TV channels could have been better.
fine for a cheap m/hotel stay. excellent on grounds/uva location. no complaints. just a simple cheap m/hotel.
Clean. Quiet despite number of groups staying. Great location for us.
Smooth check in/out process; friendly staff Air conditioner was stuck on 74 - way too warm. Room was a little cramped
The price and location. The front desk attendant the day of wouldn't let me check-in an hour early and was rude about it.
I made plans to meet my girlfriend which was staying at Fort Lee while going to school for the Airforce....me coming from Buffalo NY...I picked charlottesville because we wanted to go to Monticello and it was close to Shenandoah state part for a weekend get away..I did read a few of the comments before making resivations and seeing i have stayed at another super 8 in New York and found it to be nothing like the negative reviews for that hotel ..i figured it cant be that bad. Now..wirh that being said..here is my review for Charlottesville Super 8.. The goods.. Great location..close to EVERYTHING..restaurants..stores..entertainment..parks..you name it.. The bads.. No key cards to enter the building..not a great secured property.. Strong smell of cigarette smoke and maybe a little wacky tobacky in the hallways.. Beds are Very uncomfortable..if you stay in rhe center of the bed ..you be ok... For a non smoking room..i found burn holes in rhe sheets..hummmmm? Brrakfast was free..but we went out for breakfast ecery morning because we didnt like the maybe once frozen waffles...the offered bread fot toast..and cereal..milk that sat on ice..and wasn't really cold. Get what you pay for i guess
You get what you pay for it isn't a super expensive hotel so don't go there with those expectations and you should be just fine. The staff helps as they can, when they can. Other than that it's fine for a crash . House keeping is a little loud, and even with the do not disturb sign up they still knock.
The location was good The room was outdated , I had a non smoking room and it smelled like cigarette smoke. Overall I didn't enjoy my stay and would not recommend it anyone I know.
Dirty, old, broke down
It was good enough to price paid
Inexpensive place to stay if all you need is a place to sleep.
Cheap Non-smoking room, smelled like a smoking room. Breakfast left a lot to be desired. Breakfast area was very 'compact'. Staff was not overly friendly, a little rough around the edges.
Only good thing I can say is the location was good for me. This is a classic low budget motel -- old worn out furnishings, reek of tobacco in public areas, virtually no amenities.
Cereal at 6 A.M. Broken chair, window cracked, had to have the microwave replaced (wouldn't turn), noisy neighbors, just run down!
clean, quiet, comfortable bed
location too small room and bathroom and looked old, slow water draining at bathroom & shower, no closet for cloths
never stayed, refused to stay, unsafe and conditions not as described
Microwave Coffee machine but coffee not replaced after first night Leaky toilet and shower No power to some outlets Only smoking room available and it reeked as does my luggage from being in it
Central to where I needed to be. Nice beds!! Very small shower!! Odd sign that read 'Absolutely no visitors'

This place was a dirty disgusting place. Cheap or not it was gross. Never ever stay there Everything. From the mould in the shower with the broken concrete on the floor to the scummy dirt in rest of room
The price was great! I could hear something chewing or scratching in my room at night.
It was really close to the shopping and restaurants in the area. Really close to the interstate as well. This was definitely a 1-star hotel. The sheets were dirty, the carpet was filthy.
