BUILDING WAS WELL MAINTAINED, STAFF WERE POLITE ROOM APPARENTLY WAS A SMOKING ROOM WITH A VERY STRONG ODOR. NO WINDOW TO LOOK OUTSIDE.
Beautiful landscaping with a scenic stream on property, giving it a secluded, country feel. An unexpected oasis in an urban location. Excellent free breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Extremely hot and humid in the hallways (room temp was great). It felt more comfortable outside than in these areas.
Perfect location for Cumberland visitors or just passing through. Loved the landscaping & pool. Cracker Barrel was around the corner. Hall smelled of cigarettes.
The room was clean and the free breakfast was good. There was a group of teenagers in the hotel and were runnning around all night till 2 or 3 in the morning. I called staff several times but nothing really changed. It made a little trip I made with my husband extremely stressful and we did not enjoy our stay because of this
Check-in was easy and fast, the hotel is clean and an outstanding value. The continental breakfast was not the best we've had but it was good. The food was decent quality and there was a pretty good selection of hot and cold items. Room was clean and quiet, parking was great and all the staff we encountered were outgoing and quite friendly. We go out a few times a year, stay in a hotel after dinner just for some quiet time away from the kids:) and this hotel after our first visit a few years back has been our local getaway ever since. The location is great as well, very close to the interstate and most of the restaurants and entertainment in the area. We settled on a queen sized bed but it seemed smaller than a queen (although it could've been in our heads or because we are used to a larger bed) the comforter has a couple small stains on it but nothing disgusting, in fact my wife didn't even notice and she is a clean freak. I'm sure if she had seen it she would've requested another, which I'm certain they would be provided, but she missed it. Other than that the stay was very quiet peaceful and nice.
My husband and I stayed here overnight on our way home from the beach. It was a great end to our vacation. Our room was very clean, ready on time, and exactly what I requested (mountain view, king bed, high floor). We enjoyed canoeing on the lake, it was absolutely beautiful! We had dinner at LB's and the breakfast buffet, both of which were very good. All of the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We also enjoyed swimming and a brief time in the casino. Overall we had a wonderful stay here!
Guests shouldn't have to pay a cover charge for night time entertainment
Beautiful area, many things to do, food was ok. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Some of the staff was not very helpful. Missed opportunities to earn points with rewards card due to staff not asking for card.
We stayed on our way to and from Pennsylvania and had a wonderful stay each time. The rooms are nice and clean, the bathroom is spacious and the breakfast was great!
The staff was very nice as was the room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and efficient.
We stayed at this hotel as a half-way mark place. There wasn't much around, but was right off of the interstate. The pool was nice, but a little chilly. However, the staff was very friendly.. We only stayed over night, but was welcomed by a very nice hostess in the breakfast area. Great job!
The staff was friendly and helpful. The scenery around the hotel was wonderful--tree covered mountains.Breakfast was provided and hot coffee is available all day. My room was very clean and I would not hesitate to stay there again. Burger King is next door but the hotel is secluded and off the beaten path. Still, it was close to the interstate,
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the last 3 years when I visit Western Maryland for business purposes. This hotel is located right off I-68 so it's easy to get to. The rooms are always pleasantly clean (I'm a clean fanatic, so I'm very critical), the beds are super comfy, the free breakast is plentiful & fresh, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. My only complaint is that because it sets up at the top of the hilll, it's SOOOOO windy there, no matter what time of year. But, what a view! There is a Burger King across the parking lot & the mall and other shopping/restaurants in Lavale are only 10 minutes away. Overall, this Hampton Inn is the best place to stay in the Cumberland area, for business travel or otherwise, and it's one of my favorite Hampton Inns in the country!
Great breakfast. There was a note that said the sheets were clean. It was a strange note and made me wonder if they really were or not.
Comfortable stay. Nice complimentary breakfast. Would definately recommend this hotel. We stayed here on a trip to Deep Creek Lake, MD. back in August 2008. The King room we had included a spa tub which I made use of. It was wonderful. I used the hot tub in the pool air and the water was only lukewarm. That is my only complaint.
I was very warmly welcomed, which was nice. My room had a great layout and was extremely clean. This isn't a luxury hotel, but I would absolutely stay there again. Breakfast was a nice surprise - omelets, smoked bacon, home fries, and fresh fruit. The only drawback to this place was the lack of an onsite restaurant.
Right of the I68 exit, close to town, large rooms, friendly staff, clean...best in town - reasonable price.
Location, comfort, cleanliness, pet friendly, good breakfast... Poor wifi
Okay to crash. Microwave and refrigerator helped when travelling with kids. 1. P. hair on the potty seat..:( 2. Given key to occupied room causing confusion for us and the family sleeping inside. Could have been a dangerous situation.
Good basic room. Nothing fancy. Basic really, but that's what I was looking for. Room was clean and quiet. Bed was just OK, but I slept quite well and I am a light sleeper with a bad back.Lots of choices on cable TV. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I didn't try the breakfast, but they had what you'd expect - make your own waffles with cereal, oatmeal coffee, tea, etc. Dog friendly hotel - good to know if you are traveling with one. Microwave and fridge in room. WiFi had no password protection, although I realize that's a tiny fig leaf at least it's something. Bathroom was tiny, but good water pressure and water flow in shower.
Very inexpensive. Helpful and friendly staff. Convenient. Room and furnishings show definite wear. Found hairs in numerous places.

Nice, friendly staff. Kitchen in room. He upgraded my room for free, which I appreciatedWifi worked well Room just wasn't that nice, bed comfort could have been better, compared to a 1 or 2 star extended stay this lagged far behind in comfortIt did suit my needs though and i have no complaints for the price
The pictures looked like the room and the staff were nice It had a terrible odor the beds were so old and very uncomfortable and the shower was nasty with mold..it was not just off the interstate..GPS needed
Convenience and price. It is older and, although clean, safe and functional, I did not have a desk for my laptop. There may be rooms that have this item.
Motel was DISGUSTING. Cigarette ashes still on the headboard, TVs blaring from every other room. Real disappointment.
Price, location, wifi. There were hairs on the pillows. I towel had to be placed at the bottom of the door to keep cold air out.
Friendly staff, great rooms for the price and great location.
Really nothing other than being clean. Unfortunately, we hadn't noticed the star rating before we booked it or we wouldn't have gone there. Tiny room. Very dingy, dark, old room. Shower had mold around the bottom edge.
The owner was friendly, the location was nice. The hot water DID not work, the room was old and stale, dirty looking carpet, smelled of old cigarettes. Shower was moldy and looked like foot fungus would abound. Needs LOTS of work.
the furniture was cramped in the room and there were a lot of cracks letting cold air in the room. The bathroom window had no covering allowing someone from the outside to see in.
It's price / refrigerator & microwave & sleeping That the priceline offer was deceiving. The room that we got for the price they offered we would not stay in. We ended up upping the room because of the living quarters of the room.
Inexpensive, comfortable, clean room. (Don't let the outside fool you.) Small rooms, good for a one night stay. There is a bar in the parking lot for those so inclined and lots of TV stations for those not looking for night life. Good for a couple, not for a family. Had to pick up the key in the bar, which is also owned by the hotel owner.
Courteous staff. Good breakfast. Nice dining area. Close to Frostburg which is a quaint little college town. Quite room until someone checked into the room over us and we could hear him walking around.
The bed was great. Room was clean. The second floor hallway wasn't air conditioned. They had valet luggage carts but no way to get them to the second floor (no elevator), so we were screwed since that is where the room was.

Location Cleanliness. Found a hair in the refrigerator and a giant bug in the restroom
Convenience - close to where we were visiting. The bed was not the most comfortable.
Clean room. Nice bathroom.
