Very friendly hotel, excellent facilities, good value. The hotel owner is involved in the hotel day to day and they are constantly investing in the property. The bar area was very comfortable and inviting, I thought it had been recently refurbished but it was done 3 or 4 years ago, it looked like new so they really look after the place. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of hot and cold food. car parking at the back of the hotel was reassuring although you could park free at the front if you wished.
The food was very good and the hotel was clean.
the cleanliness of the room, the superb breakfast, the nice bathroom, the parking possibilities. I didn't use the sauna so I can't say anything about it. There was no shampoo in the bathroom and I didn't like the look of the parking space.
Visited friends, enjoyed a meal and went shopping and sightseeing
The owners are very friendly and helpful. The room looks new, it is spotless. The breakfast is excellent. The bar is small but lovely and it serves good cappuccino at reasonable price. Close to Plopsaland, we bought the tickets at the hotel for Euro 24 (Euro 27 at Plopsaland itself). We got a room at the side that does not face the tram rail so we were not bothered by the noise. The room, though the booking.com describes the room to be 'spacious', is not big and it does not have a bath tub. The owners explained to us that they do have larger rooms with bath tub but only offer the small type (the so called 'A' room type) via booking.com for the sake of simplicity. Note that this 'A' 'B' and 'B+' room type is not the same as single/double room.
What I liked is that the hotel is close to the beach and walking promenade and has a parking for the car. I didn't line the fact that we didn't had a bath and apparantly only two rooms in the hotel have.
THe hotel was excellent. Staff were extremely helpful and even though the restaurant bwas closed that night recommended a very good alternative a short walk away. The rooms were exactly as depicted on their web site, clean comfortable and a lovely colour scheme. . The usual British comment regarding pillows but we had taken our own so we were OK.
Convenient location, friendly owner and staff, good size room and spotlessly clean, excellent buffet breakfast. Minimalist decor not to our taste.
The five star welcome, the cleanliness of all areas, good breakfast and staff that care , have stopped at many hotels world wide, this is one of the best, exceeds many of a higher price and star rating Nothing at all was wrong with this hotel or its staff
owners of the hotel was very friendly, breakfast was excellent good chose of food. Hotel was very clean, also the rooms as well. To have tea and coffee in the rooms would have been better.
Good value for money
Good access to town centre and the excellent all round attitude of the cleaning lady, she is a credit to your organisation. The restaraunt staff and reception staff were also helpful. As a disabled person, my wife and I were left to struggle with our cases and equipment on arrival. We were not made aware there was a trolley available.
One couple given good size room, one given small size room.
It is a charming hotel run by its owners who do their best to offer to their clients an excellent and absolutely charming and caring service. The Gastronomy of the Restaurant is wonderful, and the lady of the house behaves like a real fairy princess to all her clients, especially the young ones, making their wishes come true. Terence really enjoyed preparing with her his favourite icecream cornets for his special dessert. It is also a hotel that is open to clients that use booking.com to make their hotel reservations.
Once sorted out, the service was good. Directions to covered carpark (fee payable0 could have been made easier with a small diagram and avoided driving around to find location. Breakfast was good and served on time. No heat in room - and the night was cold! No adjoining parking space and difficult to park to check-in. No covered parking - overcome by an arrangement between the hotel and private garageat a fee.
Our greeting and service overall were excellent Our room was immaculate and the bathroom was very modern and spacious The hotel is located very close to the beach, shops and a wide range of restaurants The tram stop is only 100 metres away giving easy access to other towns along the coast Our room was a little smaller than we had expected Car parking was a problem sometimes due to daytime restrictions for on-street parking
Very friendly and helpful manageress who ensured we felt most welcome. Hotel very central - 2 mins to great beach. De Panne is a delightful resort and Belgian coast is brilliant. Lively town without yobs! Safe cycling (very flat) and inexpensive tram that runs all the way up the coast as far as Holland. Less than half an hour's drive from Calais Eurotunnel. Try it! No onsite parking but local parking available. No tea-making or hair-dryer in room, but not unusual on continent.
The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff friendly and helpful. The location is excellent.
The staff at the hotel were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they did everything that they could to make sure my stay was a good one. The restaraunt was not open for evening meals, so I had to walk into town. There was no dedicated Hotel parking and so it was a long walk from the car to the Hotel.
The staff did everything possible to ensure a comfortable stay
Very good out of season location. Out of season as it is directly on the market square so could be noisy in season. Very comfortable, up to date design, and the bathroom very good for anyone with physical disabilites.
The room was small but very nice, the bathroom was super, and the staff very helpfull The bathroom had a bad smell.
The rooms, although compact, were very nicely presented and spotlessly clean. The cafe/bar downstairs was pleasant in the evening and for breakfast (which was very good). The staff were friendly and efficient.
Excellent location within walking distance of seafront, shops and cafes. Very friendly atmosphere with basic but well appointed rooms. Liked the restaurant/cafe opening onto market square. Very good breakfast. Would have preferred earlier breakfast time. Can feel cold as no floor covering.
Nothing at all very disappointed with staff and room No double bed ....room was twin beds although it stated double.. staff rude and refused refund only found out it twin bed after we paid ...
Very comfortable, welcoming staff and combining "rustic" with modern taste. State of the art electrics in room. Hotel still having a final coat of paint.
Very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, although as I was catching a ferry, it started at 8:30 which was then a bit of a rush.
Recently refurbished hotel, clean and comfortable No staff! Key left for us and didn't see any staff until next morning at breakfast so couldn't get a code for free Internet or ask questions. Hate to think what would have happened in an emergency - not good!
we found the hotel to have lots of out side space hotel staff great hard to find
Reception/check in service very welcome and helpful. General facilities - quiet central location near to beach. Cleanliness Poor parking facilities. No advance warning of being within one way road system. No facility for providing any breakfasts (not even pre-packed) for early departures - thus paid bb rate for four breakfasts which weren't delivered. No staff on duty at 7.00am
friendly staff nice hotel
Staff were very helpful and responsive to the needs of our group.
Friendly staff, very nice breakfast. Good value for money paid. Room was very basic.
Good location and very quiet. Good nights sleep. Very comfortable beds. Large amount of complementary mineral water was nice touch you don't even get in 4**** hotels. Decor a little basic but so what!
Very friendly staff
Location, value for money, good breakfast None
the garden was really nice
The hotel was in a very quiet area, and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. I thought the decor in the room was very bland and did not show the room to its best advantage also from my wife's point of view it needs a mirror in the main room.
The bed was good Dark hallways, no rails on stairs, our room was along side kitchen extractor fan.
We asked for a nice room, and got it. 115.00 euros. Hardwood floors, nice bed. Simple but clean :) No airconditioning, so I think providing a fan would have been a nice touch. The bathroom could have used a paint job (paint peeling) no shower curtain, so one had to sit in the tub to shower, because the shower handle was too short. But, all in all, a nice room. Location..It was right downtown, busy, noisy street..with the windows open (it was very warm) it was difficult to sleep. No parking ..yes, your web site said that, but we drove around for 45 min. Just looking for a parking spot. We finally found one a half a mile away, in which we had to buy a parking ticket every four hours..
La Terrasse is situated almost directly on the boulevaard. The hotel was dirty. The lift has a system that is very easy to get trapped in - as we did. The rooms smelt of the sewer and were unbearably hot during the day. We could constantly hear other people in the rest of the hotel. The crockery and cutlery at breakfast was disgusting and the staff had very strong body odour. We would not stay here again, nor recommend it. This is not a basic hotel, but simply dirty and at that this price it is robbery.
Nice and helpful staff, good breakfast curtain for shower was missing
Nice comfortable king size bed. Nice continental breakfast and breakfast room. Would have preferred a more conventional shower in the bathroom. This was just a shower head lead connected to the bath with nowhere to hang it and no shower curtain.
The hotel was centrally placed between the beach and the main shopping street. The restaurant below was very convenient. Parking was difficult. The room was too small for more than one night's stay. We booked a "special offer double room" and were allocated a "small" room in spite of the hotel being almost empty.
Convenient placed budget hotel The rooms in the front might suffer from road noise and the rooms in the back suffer from the extraction fan working most of the night which would be impossible to sleep on a warm night with windows open.
Close to the beachm friendky staff, nice view from the room Poor breakfast, poor breakfast service
It was an overnight stay at La Terrasse en route to Calais for a ferry crossing to Dover - it fullfilled the purpose. The location of this hotel is fantastic for a longer stay at De Panne - quite a quaint seaside town. It does need modernisation and a good clean up otherwise the breakfast area was quite pleasant and it was uncomplicated. The staff were nice. Ahead of our arrival I emailed them directly to let them know that ours would be a late arrival and they replied quite positively. The location is great. Perhaps it was also the fact that the room was the last one available as a last minute booking and for the price we were not expecting a "Hilton" or similar, but even in simple accomodation - the least one expects is better cleanliness and better hygiene.
Really good bar with loads of ambience and friendly staff. Room was a bit on the basic side, but for the price this was to be expected.
Stayed at the top of the hotel, bugger climbing those stairs, especially if you've had a few shandies. Couldn't really swing a cat in the room
The bar/lounge area was really nice and the breakfast room very pleasant. Also we found the staff extremely friendly and helpfull. The room was very small.
town centre location, it is a nice little bar with rooms upstairs, it is in a shopping street which was quiet at night it is a narrow building so the rooms and passages are small and quite cramped, the walls to adjoining rooms are poorly soundproofed
It was very quiet, friendly. no
nothing much rooms
Close to De Panne Centre
The freedom to come and go as we pleased without having to go through reception every time.
slept well. Close to seafront breakfast very basic. Bathroom cramped. "nearby" free parking is 5 mins away.
Nice friendly service, clean room, privacy. No tea or coffee making facilities provided in the room
The owners were very helpful. The bed was very comfortable !
everything was closed at the hotel we only spend time in our room that was oke the beds were not so good the matras is old shower very small took long time for hot water
The hotel was very well located with a very short walk to the beech, shops and resturants. Would have liked tea and coffee facility in room.
