Cons:I rented from Dollar due to a special low price deal whereby I selected a mid size car. I did not check the fine print and received a compact car. I am traveling again this week and the same experience occurred. Classic BS marketing to get a sale. I will never rent from Dollar again.
Pros:The price was right and I appreciate the service, etc. Thank you Dollar for making it affordable.
Cons:The side mirrors are manual adjusting, which is very difficult to do right if you are driving alone. There wasn't even a remote to lock and unlock the car. Part of the bumper flew off while driving on the freeway several times and I had to pull over on the shoulder to fix it. Pretty basic features were missing - even though this was an economy rental, I would expect at least automatic mirrors and a working bumper.
Pros:Good price.
Cons:Dirty car.
Pros:I had problems adjusting the seat belt and had to return to get it fixed.
Cons:It would have been easier to return it to the airport rather than driving downtown, but it would have cost a lot more to change it.
Pros:Good car, good deal
Cons:Really long wait to pick up the car especially compared to the other rental providers at the counters nearby. Very flexible on extending the return time by an hour which was great but when we asked about dropping it off at their Oakland location instead of SFO we were told it would be an additional $400 which sounded insane.
Pros:Easy in and out after making on-line reservation. The pre-paid gas was not cheap, but gas prices in the area are high and and gas stations are not located in easy to see locations.
Pros:They ended up honoring the reservation rate with a different car.
Cons:Said the class of car we had reserved wasn't available, then kept processing the order and when they passed me the review of charges, it was over twice the reservation reservation rate! He didn't try to apologize, didn't ask earlier in the transaction if we would be ok with a higher rate with a different car; just tried to sneak it by us and hoped we wouldn't notice! And of course he was super slow with the whole thing. And still no apology when we were finally done. Who really ever has a great experience with car rentals? But Dollar, you're just the worst.
