I booked through Enterprise specifically to avoid the well-known predatory damage practices in Portugal, but unfortunately I still ended up with exactly that. At drop-off, the agent claimed extremely minor cosmetic marks on the plastic hubcaps were “damage” and charged €439.08. The behaviour was consistent with the typical Portuguese rental-car damage scam: • the agent repeatedly asked if I had insurance before even looking at the car • he refused to mark the damage on the inspection diagram and told me I could draw it myself • he would not clearly show how the alleged marks differed from the faint areas visible in my pickup video • he would not state the cost of the charge until we were inside the small office • the “damage” itself was tiny, superficial cosmetic wear that no major rental company would normally charge for • I filed a written dispute with Guerin on the same day and received no acknowledgment or response nearly a week later. Additionally, the pickup process was extremely slow. The self-check-in computer failed multiple times, the system was reset twice, and I had to wait a long time in the queue after it crashed again. I chose Enterprise to avoid exactly this type of experience, and I’m very disappointed.Reviewed Nov 21 2025

Your staff was excellent; very friendly and knowledgeable. The car I was assigned had a few problems. The car itself was very nice however the sunroof wasn’t seated properly and it caused a chilly draft to the backseat passengers. I wouldn’t touch the switch in case it opened and then wouldn’t close. You could see the problem from the roof once you knew the problem existed. Your staff acknowledged and made a small compensation for the problem. Also, the cruise control wasn’t working. This is a function that I use on freeway driving. Overall, I like Enterprise and will definitely use Enterprise in the future if needed.Reviewed Nov 20 2025

Car could have been in better condition. It broke down on I4 in FL at 10pm and customer service was less than helpful for an hour. The tow truck when it arrived was great but getting help from Enterprise or state police in FL didn’t materialize. Enterprise should have sent an Uber at their expense as we were 7 miles from an exit. If it wasn’t for the amazing tow truck driver we might still be waiting.
