Aristotelio Boutique Hotel - Pedhoulas
3
9.1 Excellent (143 reviews)
4.3 Okay
Pros: Leaving. It is a lovely old building which has recently been done up. The lift made looking for the elusive staff slightly less annoying.
Cons: Everything was a shambles. Nobody was on reception and was hard to find anyone. The person running it was nice enough but obviously very stressed as she seemed to be the manager/reception/barperson. The other staff member, a young man, was lazy and spent more time on his phone than doing any work. The bar seemed to double as the office as there was paperwork and stuff over the tables, but it was hard to find anyone to serve us. The garden should have been lovely but it was unkempt and the patio had not been swept. Our main problem was that the air conditioning unit in our room was broken so we had a really bad night's sleep. Also, the bed was so close to the wall we had to move it to get in. The design of the shower meant I got covered in cold water when I turned it on. The bedside lights had no power supply. We were offered a change of room on the second day but this was smaller so we decided to check out instead. Somebody has spent a lot of money doing this place up but they have missed the mark. It is also tucked away in a tatty area a long way from anything.

Pros: A traditional house in the old quarter of the town. Modern bathroom, very good shower. Very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Great location for exploring Kakopetria.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location.
6.7 Good
Pros: A new yet traditionally built boutique hotel in the middle of beautiful old Kakopetria. Rooms are modern and clean. Especially the lady who runs the day-to-day business in the hotel will be remembered by us: Arlene made our stay extraordinary by her friendliness and helpfulness.
7.7 Good
Pros: had fantastic view of mountains and it was great to hear the sound of the river. We were very surprised to find the luxurious bathroom was equipped with jacuzzi with colored lights and great sounding radio. The log fire was another terrific feature which one would not find in a hotel room, In my opinion this was the most perfect romantic getaway and can't wait to return,
Cons: Not being familiar with the area, it would have been nice to have recommendations for local restaurants.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly family hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Easy to find. Good choice of food in restaurant. Welcome drink offered. Great views from room and balcony.
Cons: Nothing
5.0 Okay
Pros: The food was nice and the lady is really friendly. Health wise she just shouldn’t run a hotel.
Cons: The old lady running the place was quite ill and couldn’t walk well, which resulted in us helping her out cleaning our tables for example. She never asked us if we wanted anything (like food/drinks) when we sat down in the restaurant. It was a strange situation. We couldn’t have a cooked breakfast as we were the only guest staying there and it “wasn’t worth it”. I feel like every guest should be treated the same and it shouldn’t have mattered we were the only ones. Besides the lady, I didn’t find the beds/pillows comfortable and the decor is very outdated. The bath was not worth the extra money (and not cleaned after we used it) and I also didn’t realise it meant we didn’t have a shower. I don’t understand why this place is so highly rated. My only explanation is it once had different staff and they are still going on those old reviews. I would not choose it again and also won’t recommend it to others.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality of the owner Katerina and her son Michael was great.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very very kind and helpful. Perfect view from the room, nice location. Food is amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location in nice little village. Rooms are very clean and comfortable but what made the stay remarkable was the attentiveness of the woman owning the hotel. She provided us with fruit and has been super kind. Views from the rooms are terrific. Will definitely stay again!

Pros: Very kind personal, we had a great time. Would recommend.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The good lady herself ,is what this place is all about great host ,attention to detail ,PR is first class , and the view fron the rooms is worth the fee
Cons: The wine we ordered for dinner was very poor quality ,something you woud get at an all inclusive hotel ,it did not come in a bottle ,it wad out of a barrell

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is situated by the sea in a remote village on the north coast of Cyprus. I loved the peaceful of the place. The hotel is good with a nice room (all around the pool). Very quiet at night if other guests allow! Good parking. The restaurant is a 5 min walk by the sea and a small beach where you can take a good dive in the warm waters. I had dinner there (good food) and breakfast also (correct). There are other restaurants close by (at least 2). The staff is extremely nice!
Cons: The wifi was not strong. The beach has no sand but mud and stones, but the water is perfect and there is a limited number of chairs.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Personnel were very friendly and helpful. Food at hotel’s restaurant was excellent. Highly recommend the fish dishes. Sea was very clean and ideal for swimming. This is a perfect place to stay for those wanting peace and quiet and to be away from the touristic areas.
Cons: Rooms could have been better decorated and more welcoming.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice views
Cons: Food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location to unwind. Comfortable rooms. All rooms have balcony which look out on to the pool and the open sea just beyond. Swim any time in the pool or in the sea with no crowds of bathers Breakfast lunch and Dinner can be taken on a small private pier over the water. Shaded from the sun during the day, idyllic cool breezes in the evening. Dine whilst listening to the waves hitting the shoreline. Very reasonable prices for food and drink.
Cons: What you see is what you get - we come back often for a restful few days. Wouldn’t change a thing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. The location was amazing. Right on the coast and a short walk or drive in either direction to find a sandy beach and clear blue water. The area was quiet and rural but beautiful. Fantastic walking area. Swimming pool was large and with a good area surrounding it for sunbathing and relaxing. You need a car. A few options for dinner each night and all equally good. The staff and owners of the hotel could not have been more helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Looks like brand new place, very well maintained. The room was very large and had a balcony giving over the swimming pool and further the sea. The swimming pool is open from 8am to 6pm which be can fairly early if you made some trips around during the day...but the owner was kind enough to let us swim later, that was great. The hotel also has a restaurant which is located on the beach, it is an amazing place above the sea with a small sandy beach, very lovely! Prices are way higher than usually in Northern Cyprus except for a few dishes and drinks, but still that's ok for Westerners. The breakfast was good, coffee/tea, cucumbers/tomatoes, cheese, olives, bread, jam & honey, and you take it also at the restaurant, lovely!
Cons: We were alone when we arrived, we rang, knocked, a bit everywhere but no one seemed to be there. But once I called, someone came really not long after, and helped us out!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was helpful and kind. Location was great, room was huge with a balcony and the restaurant was good breakfast. Also the high quality fresh fish with tgat low price. Amazing place to stay

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly stuff/owner. Great view from the Hotel room and roof top. Price-performance ratio top!
Cons: The lavatory was way too low. No elevator. No direct parking spot but on the Street possible.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was large and the beds were comfy. There was everything in the room that I needed, incl a good fridge and kettle with tea/ coffee sachets. The room was clean and on the veranda was a beautiful view of the village. The breakfast was really good, so much variety and plenty of it, especially fresh filter coffee - topped it off by sitting outside in the large veranda area under a canopy of potential wine! Beautiful!
Cons: Not much. The room was abit dark and could maybe do with a small upgrade like curtains fitted etc. The sink had a crack in it and the tap would spray at you when you turned it on (I think it was the tap filter maybe needed changing). Just small upgrades in the room really.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice hosts, amazing location and views. Good value
Cons: -
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the hospitality of the stuff
Cons: equipment in the room is old and uncomfortable
7.0 Good
Pros: The breakfast was satisfying and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The served as a free welcome drink. The room is clean, gets warm quickly and there is hot water.
Cons: Because of the rainy weather we had to stay inside and there are not a lot of things you can do. The facility is old in general. The toilet in our room was old (the one with a plastic toilet seat). There was a bad smell coming from the toilet when we got at the room, but the manager managed to solve the issue. He was also willing to change our room to a bigger one that was available if we wanted.
6.8 Good
Pros: Good location in the very central part of the village with balconies overlooking the river below, warm and dry rooms inside with plenty of space
Cons: The building itself could have been renovated both from inside and outside (facade overlooking the river), furniture and interior of the rooms and lobby are far outdated, thus the hotel looked slightly abandoned even despite its prime location, breakfast is mediocre
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, spotless rooms with view of old Kakopetria and river down below. Great location, friendly stuff. Definitely worth the price
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very convenient hotel with more amenities that we expected at that price. The hotel is not new, but it has a homey feel, it's like stepping into a very clean, renovated 80s house. Huge bedroom and bathroom, comfortable balcony overlooking the river. Three nice beds, mirror and dressing table, another table, and yet another table and chairs on the gorgeous balcony. Multiple WiFi routers on each floor, so our internet was even better than at home! Friendly staff and CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN. No musty smell. All in all very, very happy, and that includes two hard to please teenagers.
Cons: Would have loved some croissants and some real village bread for breakfast instead of the white sliced kind. There is also an on and off noise that is probably the elevator, but that will annoy only the more fussy sleepers like me. I always travel with earplugs, so that was not a problem. Roof garden has an exceptional view, but that was partially obscured by the lowered tents.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: View from the room was very nice, the room is clean and cozy. Hot water, water pressure, bathroom - everything OK. No insects or ants which seems to be a rare thing on Cyprus. The place itself is very quiet, we were probably the only guests in the hotel. The breakfast is very good, "cypriot size" portions won't leave you hungry. :)
Cons: The check in was a little bit slow - I had to call the guy to make him come and give us a key for the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast Roomy suite Excellent location

Pros: My family and I had a wonderful stay at Aphrodite Resort. We found it to be a most pleasant and tranquil place of calm and relaxation. All staff without exception, were extremely helpful and courteous;they would go out of their way to meet our specific needs. Cons: There was nothing that we didn't like it suited our needs perfectly- a calm beautiful oasis.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Space
Cons: Nothing near the picture showing on the Website , the sea view room can’t see the sea,the bathroom is no equipment apart from sink and rusty shower . Apartment is middle of nowhere down North Cyprus. They couldn’t even provide right Size bedding . Very disappointing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, my brother is disabled and they were really caring and helpful with him. Also, the fact that the beach was on the doorstep was a bonus!
Cons: I didn't like when my holiday here came to an end!
5.8 Okay
Pros: The pools were great - although too cold now. The "heated" indoor pool turned out just as cold as outside
Cons: The game room for the kids was out of order and the room could have been cleaner (Eg the shower curtain). We also had some nasty stains in our bedlinen
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious , modern , clean and high end appliances. Upgraded for free to a sea view apartment. Amazing. Staff are super friendly and eager to help. Will definitely be booking to stay again.

Cons: No real complaint. Power points in room were faulty but once management were informed there was an electrician in our room within 25 mins and problem was solved.

Pros: Tv worked and showed movies in English.
Cons: No heating, no WiFi, poor breakfast (the cheapest possible continental breakfast option).
6.8 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff always willing to help. Food good but expensive
Cons: The price for a 2 star hotel was a bit high in my opinion. Especially for an outdated property.

Pros: The location is very good - walking distance to any point in Kakopetria. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was quite filling.
Cons: There is no parking space, so you have to drive around to find a spot for yourself. The bathroom pipes were leaking, not a peasant feeling when you go in...
9.3 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Central location and clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and able to visit places of interest in surrounding area. The staff were very helpful and breakfast and dinner were very good.
Cons: Car Parking around Hotel not very good and although we had requested and told we had a Parking space this had not been allocated as some other guests were inconsiderate. Also as we had a disabled badge there was no actual disabled parking space outside the Hotel. Also think rooms would benefit from mini-fridge
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner welcomed us warmly at the arrival :) He prepared a room with fantastic view overt Kakopetria. He also let us know where to go in the evening and what shall we see around the area. Room was spacious, clean. The hotel is a little bit ols but if you want to stay for the night and see the area of Troodos it is excellent. The breakfast was good.
Cons: It was a little bit cold in the restaurant during breakfast - but February is one of the coldests months in Cyprus.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality! I surely recommend it!
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Location is not bad. Kakopetria is small village and easy to go around any way..
Cons: We booked for new year eve, and we did it quite late,so was not many places free. We and one more couple want it to escape the town and spend the night in between years at some traditional restaurant in the mountain area. We reserved that and need accommodation so we found Ekali hotel one of the very few that still had empty rooms in Kakopetria.... then we understand Why... The hotel NEED renovation, is falling apart. Now I feel sorry that I didn’t take pictures of the sealing of our room 402. It was full of mold and paint was coming off the sealing. The bathroom was very bad looking and lucky that my wife had the inspiration to take our towels from home. The windows were single glazed and was quite cold in the room, plus one of them was not opening... The breakfast was Very poor and not tasty. The staff was smiling, even when they try to enter our room without knocking at the door, to check if we left or Not. I DO WANT to Ad here that, the owner of the hotel is like always around at reception and trying to make conversation with clients, but not in a very nice way, sticking his nose in your life, and then coming up with rude comments... VERY ANNOYING. Totally Not Recommending. We will stay away from that place, and hope this will help others also..
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We were cycle touring and the hotel was very helpful in facilitating this, i. e safe storage for our bikes and providing an early breakfast so we could make an early start on the next day of our cycle tour. Great location, easy to find and excellent value for money (no hidden extras)

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The jacuzzi and the fireplace were great!
Cons: There is a small hole on the wall and cold air gets in.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, rustic, traditional house in a great location, easy to get to. Lovely patio area to sit outside and for those renting upstairs apartment there's a balcony. Owners met us in the village to show us the way. It was a bit difficult arranging our arrival over the phone as we don't speak Greek, but it all worked out and they were very kind and gave us eggs from their own hens. Two churches in village (one UNESCO listed) are beautiful and easy to visit: we just called the number on the notice outside the church and the custodian came in about 10 minutes. You can walk there along the river.
Cons: Not much cooking equipment in the kitchen (no frying pan). Mattress rather hard. It was not clear from description on website what the layout would be - balcony or not? Etc.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hospitality was good and the house had most of what someone expects!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The traditional way
Cons: The spa bath was broken
7.5 Good
Pros: Charming , quaint , lovely area. Proper Cyprus!
5.5 Okay
Pros: The location was good and easy to find, nice nature and next to the river. You could literally hear the river flow. The lady in charge was very sweet and kind.
Cons: If you are average height (1.80) then jacuzzi is basically too small. I’m tall and could hardly fit and I just gave up. It’s better to book the normal room rather than the “deluxe”. The price for the deluxe is not value for money. In addition, the room was not getting warm although we had the fireplace & the air condition switched on. Very strange to be honest.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is a pretty old traditional village house. Finally we had a room with a fireplace, which made our stay really nice. From the balcony there is a nice view and we had our breakfast there, enjoying the rain outside. It's super close to Kakopetria, which is a must to visit and there are surprisingly many restaurants and supermarkets in Galata as well.
Cons: The double bed was squeaking with every little move.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely spacious studio! The host was very helpful amd friendly!
4.3 Okay
Pros: It is 3 minutes driving from Kakopetria village
Cons: The jacuzzi was with cold water after a couple of minutes of working. Also we had to pay €80.00 per night without breakfast just to find out that we had to pay extra €5.00 per box of wood for the fireplace.
7.5 Good
Pros: The host, old lady, was very kind, she bring the bottle of wine and fruits from her garden

Pros: Although the hotel needs a good renovation, this is made up by the hospitality, good service and position of the hotel. During our visit we ate fresh fish at the hotel which was excellent value for money.
Cons: Hotel needs renovation
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice owner notably Mrs. Sofia and staff notably Mrs. Eleni. The hotel is next to the beach and to the small port. It was very clean and the breakfast was very nice too. We enjoyed our stay there and we are looking forward to go there again. The restaurant also is nice and the prices are reasonable too.

Pros: Excellent location. Amazing view of the port
Cons: Old fashioned beds, uncomfortable mattress and old fashioned bed covers
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff was extreemly helpful and friendly. Good restaurant.
Cons: Room was not nice, old furniture, not comfortable. Poor breakfast
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very helpful. I specifically requested a twin bedded room as I was travelling with my son and this request was met. We were cycling and a secure space was made for the bikes. The room/bathroom were clean, the beds comfortable and the breakfast was plentiful. I did think it was rather overpriced for the area itself.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Sophia was very welcoming and we enjoyed our meals sitting on the terrace overlooking the peaceful harbour. Good food. When we left she gave us a jar of her homemade crystalline pears. We enjoyed these ‘sweets’ for our desert Monday evening. Very good value for the price. Lots of hairpin bends as you go through the mountains to get there from Paphos or Polis, not for the faint hearted, but wonderful scenery.

Pros: Great option of stay in an ancient house with this atmosphere! Amazing breakfast! Mountain view and location is perfect!
Cons: Parking is a bit far
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good value for money and great location.
Cons: The check in was done by the waiter and we had to wait till he was done with a table order. The room facilities (towels, broken head shower holder) could use some small maintenance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place. It's like stepping back in time. Beautiful village. Friendly people and amazing food. Linos taverna served up the most delicious food. A must try if you're in the area
Cons: Everything was good. We had a great time
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location!!
Cons: Breakfast. Very cheap breakfast
7.5 Good
Pros: The traditional style
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant location and friendly staff. Lovely rooms but organisation needs to be simpler regarding food and drink.
Cons: The Breakfast was too large, we would have prefeered a choice of a simpler breakfast. The serving of breakfast seemed very disorganised! It is a shame that the terrace for meals is no longer available.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: Noise until 12 night with not professional singers Shower head broken , shower tap broken Bed very very old and uncomfortable Value for money very poor After I have complained about loud music u til late broken tap in the bathroom not even offer a discount I forgot my swimming costume and asked to be send by akis express ( they called and said that I have to pay ) it’s not about money more about hospitality... Poor in general I do not recommend
4.3 Okay
Pros: Just the jaccuzi nothing else.
Cons: With the money i gave i rent a better appartment with better location and i will have my comfort.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The location is great and the restaurant and terrace are very nice. The manager was very nice and the food was good in general (although not outstanding).
Cons: The room where I slept the first night (101) was not at all clean (the lamp was literally full of spider webs...). Also, it was dark and you could hear absolutely everything from the upper floor. When I told the manager, he immediately proposed I change to another room in the main building. This one was better but, still, the bathrooms are not in good shape. I had dinner there the two nights I stayed. The first night I was placed at the bar, although some tables were empty for the rest of the evening. And it took them 45 ms to bring the food. The next day (Monday) it was not so crowded and everything went smoothly. I would recommend to avoid this place during the weekend.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: the place was wonderful for me - the little river below the wooden balcony was like music in my ears :) the connected "village cafe" is very charmful, i liked to sit there with a "cyprus" coffee or a "sandwitch" and listen to the sounds of the rushing water.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are so perfect and next to the river. Waking up is so relaxing hearing the river. Also old kakopetria is sooo beautiful and calm. It deserve it. I will sure stay again!!!
Cons: Some of the room furnitures for example the wardrobe was broken. Also the room was not clean and it was smelling a little bad like it was closed for too long. And the chairs outside was broken. And the aircontition couldnt heat up the room and it was very cold.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location excellent
Cons: Difficult to find, little signage. Definitely not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. No teabags or milk.
7.5 Good
Pros: The best thing about this place is the location, right in the small Old Town with a narrow, fast flowing river just below. My room opened onto a verandah with a view down to this river and the sound of the rushing water is very soothing. Also, contrary to earlier reviews, they now have wi-fi there and it worked perfectly. Comfortable bed as well and totally quiet at night with only the sound of the rushing water below.
Cons: The room, a twin bed room, was very small and basic and although it was perfectly clean and had a bathroom I thought it was overpriced for €35 a night. Also it's very hard to find. Both Booking.com's map and Google Maps are pretty useless in finding it so I had to phone the owner twice. From the main road look for an entrance arch marked 'Old Kakopetria' and walk up the VERY steep stone-embedded street for about 300 metres (murder with a heavy backpack on but the location makes it worthwhile and the VERY steep part is only for the first 50 metres or so). The rooms are below the Serenity Cafe but its sign is not very noticeable and there's no 'Galini' sign at all. The woman working in the cafe when I arrived doesn't speak any English, only Greek, and didn't even know I had a reservation there. Communication with her was difficult but later on a man (probably the owner), who does speak English, came there and sorted everything out. Also the room was freezing cold but fortunately there's an air-con/heater, which you'll really need in winter. Also not enough blankets on the beds. Luckily I was alone in this room so I took one blanket from the other bed. And finally, the TV only has Greek or Greek Cypriot channels. Despite all these negatives I do recommend this place, simply because of the beautiful location.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service anytime you call the property Friendly people Overall great choice
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, in old town, next to and high above a small tree-lined river, gurgling away ... perfect for sleep. Great lunches, with cafe above open from 10 to 6.
Cons: Can't get breakfast before 10am, but you can do breakfast nearby at small hotel or in (new) town a few hundred metres away. A bedside lamp would help. Hot water flow for the shower is weak and takes a bit of getting used to.
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful place and location although the room was a bit bare, definitely needed a sofa and some extra details.
Cons: The bareness of the room it created a cold feeling.
7.5 Good
Pros: This place is like a little tree house in the middle of the woods with a nice view to the river. It was pleasant and relaxing to seat at the little balcony to hear the sounds of nature. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and bedsheets. The location and view compensates for everything. I would stay here again during the warmer months.
Cons: Finding the location was not easy. Parking areas are away from the room but reasonable walking distance. Very rustic cabin with a little bathroom that requires a while to figure out how to use the hot water. Bring extra toilet paper as only one was provided. No hairdryer. TV signal was really bad. No internet. Colder inside than outside without using the A/C. Overall you get what you pay for. A rustic old house but better than camping.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: the location, the river down the path
Cons: this is the worst hotel I have every stayed in ! disgusting bathroom, not cleaned for a long time. the sink still had hair in it and toothpaste from previous guest. the floor was also sticky. fridge had mould and hair in it. the room was not as advertised, it was a dark room with no view to the river. the balcony you had to access through small corridor and 'share ' it with neighbour guests. the lamp on the ceiling was broken (glass). the third bed didn't fit in the room so it had to be partially under the higher bed. the condition of this bed was very bad. I will never return to this place not even for free. avoid !
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was heaven!
Cons: Nothing!
