Glasgow Hotels

Pros: Staff was very friendly. Bed and pillows were very nice and down alternative comforters on bed. Breakfast was very good. Sausage patties, eggs, waffles, yogurt, pastries, cereal, hard boiled eggs and biscuits and gravy each day. We ate a big breakfast there and weren't hungry until 4 or 5 in the afternoon then we went to supper. So we ended up only having to buy 1 meal a day. This hotel is a steal for the price.

Cons: Pool was a bit small but our kids liked it because they made lots of friends to play with because of the small proximity.

Pros: The people were helpful.My brother had passed away & I spent days making arrangements, cleaning & dispersing his belongings. They helped me carry boxes (for sorting) up to my room & let me check in early & extend my stay at the same rate.

Cons: The wifi was glitch-y I needed to use it to find out things involved with my brothers death, his vehicle, donation centers, etc. Sometimes was unable to get on the net. My computer said it was the router.

Pros: The place was quiet - we saw Amish buggies driving by on the 2 lane road out front. No places to party nearby, just a nice clean room to sleep, shower and get back on the road. They were pet friendly, too!

Cons: The only room available was a smoking room.

Pros: The hotel staff seemed friendly enough during the one and only time I interacted with them (at check-in). Their debit reader didn't work, so I had to go to the gas station across the street and withdraw cash to pay.

Cons: The cleaning solution in the room was strong. In fact, it made my family ill. Had to buy some air fresheners just to get through the night.

Pros: I had read reviews that indicated the rooms were very clean - they weren't kidding! Super-clean! Nothing fancy, but clean, functional, and just fine for the price.

Cons: If you're looking for a &full service& hotel, this isn't it. But if you are looking for efficient, clean, and functional - in and out& - this is a good choice.

Pros: Off the beaten path and quiet. The owners are nice people and all the guests were friendly as well. We loved this place and the price. It's an older motel that has been updated and it is clean.

Cons: No where to hang out other than your room or small lobby (ie: no lounge or patio) however we were at the hotel basically for sleeping and spent most of our time sight-seeing so this was not a problem for us.

Pros: The pool was great for the kiddos, breakfast was also good & location was perfect. Was perfect for a family get away.

Cons: We picked this property for the pool, Paid in advance. Pool was down for repairs. The sign outside was still advertising a heated pool. Told-too bad. Will not recommend or return. Teenage children very upset.

Pros: This hotel is 5 mins away from the Mammoth Cave National Park. Highly recommended to travelers. Room is very clean and quiet.

Pros: I'll give credit where it's due: the room was clean and the hotel was close to Mammoth Cave National Park. That's about all I can say I liked.

Cons: This hotel hasn't seen a decorator (much less a remodel) since the 1970s. My room did have a color TV, although it was the old school square box, and A/C, although it was a window unit from Best Buy. There was literally one employee running the hotel's front desk, the on-property gun range, the winery, and waitressing the restaurant. Not one employee each of those places, just one employee. Speaking of the restaurant, the food was passable at best but the view was top notch.

Pros: Friendly staff. Okay view only at the dining area. Clean rooms. Comfy bed.

Cons: Not a terrible place, just extremely understaffed and much needed renovations. It took three hours for anyone to get their dinner, many guests actually left before their dinner arrived and our dinner consisted of two burgers with french fries. The rooms are very clean however...1) All the walls are concrete with no sound barriers. We could hear everything, even the maintenance crew at 2am in the morning having a conversation in the hallway. 2) The doors have no weather stripping so when guests leave their rooms, the doors slam on the concrete and are very loud. This could be a simple fix. It kept my husband up all night with people coming in and out of their rooms. 3) Since the doors have no weather stripping, there was light from the hallway around the entire door, with about an inch visible gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. Not a huge deal but just needs some work. 4) The thermostat had two settings: hot and hot. AC did not work. We didn't call anyone since we were only staying the one night. We slept with just the sheet. 5) Blinds were ragged and there were no draperies. I felt very exposed at night because there were huge gaps where people could see into the room. We were on the first floor with part of the resort just outside our window. Again, this could be an easy fix. Overall, this was not worth the $110 we spent for one night at a "resort." Not sure how all the reviews gave this place 4 stars... Maybe with some tender love and care, this place could be a great getaway.

Pros: Great location and beautiful views.

Cons: The place looks like it's seen better days. Quaint and homie feel. Could use a major renovation. The staff was nice but they served no breakfast claiming there was no power in the kitchen. They said they couldn't even make coffee and no coffee in the room. A little over priced for what you get. It's a shame they haven't kept it in better condition. I'd probably stay in Cave City in the future.

Pros: The view the area and scenery

Cons: We didn't like seeing the place run down. No pool or sauna restaurant wasn't open. We were there 30 thirty years ago and it's really run down sad to see. Nothing for the family to do.

Pros: Beautiful country setting. Staff were very nice and helpful. Room was huge. Very quiet.

Cons: No food service. Drove 6 miles to get to Mexican restaurant in Cave City (El Mazatlan). It was excellent, service great, food great.

Pros: The staff was great. Everyone was polite and very helpful. Very close to the national park. Good wine. Food was decent. The new owners have put a lot of work in to improving the resort. Very reasonably priced.

Cons: The room smelled and the beds were uncomfortable. Everything was kind of outdated.

Pros: For $79 a night it was a great place to stay. Ask for a view of the back side of the building. You can see the rolling hills of KY. It was quiet and clean. Staff was friendly. I was glad I booked their instead of the hotels in Cave City with no view.

Pros: The room was well appointed and clean. The breakfast was decent.

Cons: Even though our end of the hotel was no smoking, the smell of smoke came in through the bathroom air vent. And the alarm clock was broken. Not that we needed it. But if you are going to have one in the room, it should work. The other bad thing is that there are no elevators so lots of fun lugging all our things up and down stairs and then down the hallway (no carts either).

Pros: Comfortable room, large mini-fridge with microwave, nice pool, wifi, breakfast was mostly pre-packaged but better than fast-food.

Pros: The front desk clerk was very personable and polite.

Cons: The appearance was bad. Broken glass in the main door to the lobby. No soap in the lobby bathroom. The soap bar wrapper by the sink in the room looked as if a mouse had chewed it open. There was a tool to pick up litter in the room. Spider webs on tool.

Pros: Nice location/neighborhood, bed was comfortable, clean sheets, good price, big TV (they could have spent that money on paint and carpet cleaning), shower water pressure was good. Guessing they use water softener as my hair and skin was super soft!

Cons: For the price, not a horrible place to stay. Room 109 has dingy carpet, some peeling wallpaper, bathtub/bathroom could use some fresh paint, and new surround, tub drain is clogged, and toilet flushes slowly.

Cons: The Air conditioner could not keep the room cool in the heat of the day. The bathtun drain was clogged.

Pros: If you are looking for a clean room with a comfortable bed for a great price...this is it!!

Cons: No amendites...if you forgot shampoo or toothpaste you were out of luck. But in their defense... They had just taken over this hotel. So this is something I'm sure they'll correct very soon.
