I was not expecting a 700 dollar charge and a 2000 deposit to be asked for. We are traveling with plans so what else do you do but pay for it. This was one sneaky booking and it’s happened twice with Kayak now. You guys need to partner and have better transparency with charges and what to expect! The staff did their best so no knock on them. But just not an ok surprise. Thank goodness that the drop off was fine because I took pictures of everything as the car was damaged but as I heard others in the lobby I was not the only having the same experience.

Ended up paying $500 dollars more when I got there to pick up the car. Also their address is incorrect and their customer service was no help on giving me an address. Finally found the place and staff didn’t even care when I told them their address was incorrect on their website and that their local offices phone number was also not working. This place is a scam and will never tell you up front exactly how much you are going to pay until you arrive to pick up the rental. Also be prepared to wait an hour to two for them to hand over the rental because it’s a first come first served place even if you have a reservation.

Overall, a good experience. It would have been excellent if Avis had not wanted to not honor the reservation price. Avis did eventually honor the reservation price, but here was no need to go through a period of thinking that I was going to pay about twice as much as the reservation price. The reservation price was excellent.

Despite having a reservation, they did not have a car large enough for our group. This happened to us once before, never again. Both times we ended up renting from a local agency, and had much better experiences. Just look up local options on google maps and contact them, like you would larger agencies.

The price!!!! It was a little to expensive for the time of the season and the type of car I rented and how there is no set price to rent a car. I recommend my nephew to rent a car from there too and he got a smaller car, for fewer days and more expensive than my rental.

I book the car rental throughout Kayak. That was quick and easy. Once you get there they make you pay insurance for the car. The lowest insurance they have is $800. Which is ridiculous for 5 days. Then on top of that they make you give at deposit of $1,300. Stay away from this place.

They close the office if they need to deliver cars, even though there’s two staff. When calling on the phone, after asking around because no sign on the door or additional information provided on their behalf, the staff was very rude even hanging out the phone and telling me to wait until they come back or cancel the booking and go somewhere else. Terrible customer service, I wouldn’t rent another car there.

I was not given an option to decline insurance coverage not needed or wanted. My reservation would not have been honored and they would have declined car rental. I had 8 pieces of luggage and 94 and 92 year olds with me. I had no choice but to accept very expensive insurance, not needed as my credit card covers it. Also, no car available on location for me and I had to wait a full hour for the car. I was lied to, being told it was being cleaned. I walked over to the cleaning bay to check and no caravan was there. I asked again and was told it was a few more minutes while they finished cleaning it. I confronted them and explained there was no car there and to give me an honest answer. They finally said it was coming from a different location. They still had to clean it when it arrived. Poor customer service and dishonest.

Didn't even take the car. They kept saying to get the car I needed a separated insurance from the one I purchased. I've done rentals with them before and never did they offer it. My reservation was for $500 and the insurance they were forcing me to get was $1,600. That's ridiculous.

Very nice people. They take advantage tourists. Even if you went on priceline to get a price deduction for a car rental they don’t agree to it and give a price hike and make you pay are large amount for car insurance. I’m never renting from them ever again

Pros:

When I arrived to pick up vehicle the Payless Rental Agency had no office inside the airport or shuttle that takes you to pick up the office. You have to walk three blocks towards there office!!!! With a family of three small children and four suitcases.....Once I arrived to the office there was a line of about 15 people in front of me, which was not a problem because it was a Friday and I could understand the rush. Once it was my turn after one hour and half of waiting they informed me that the vehicle I had requested was not available even though I had reserved it with more than a week of anticipation. That they could offer me a regular car but that it would cost me about double what the original reservation would be. They informed me that because I did not do the reservation directly with them that I had to call you're office to change anything ……..I tried many times calling you're office but with no luck...….This has been the worst experience me and my family have had …..We have never been treated like this …...We will never you you're service and will definitely recommend to any one we know or meet never to use this service ever.

We arrived over two hours late and they have cancel my reservation they also need to stop forcing people to buy insurance it’s optional and if you don’t buy insurance they don’t give you the car

Poor service, received a dirty vehicle and it wasn’t what I had reserved. I would Never rent a car in Mexico again, they take advantage of the people with outrageous fees and taxes…. Forget it!!!

I can’t stand a company that has all sorts of hidden fees. The rental went from $15 to $170. You’re better off not doing this and just go negotiate a car for yourself when you get there.

Terrible, waited 2 hours and 40 min. First they gave me a car that had a flat tire, once fixed the mechanic realized there was imperfection with the front end suspension and recommended a change of vehicle. That took another hour, I asked to speak with a manager 3 times but kept being told his coming but never got there. Highly unlikely to rent here again .
