The price!!!! It was a little to expensive for the time of the season and the type of car I rented and how there is no set price to rent a car. I recommend my nephew to rent a car from there too and he got a smaller car, for fewer days and more expensive than my rental.

Luxury SUV

I was not expecting a 700 dollar charge and a 2000 deposit to be asked for. We are traveling with plans so what else do you do but pay for it. This was one sneaky booking and it’s happened twice with Kayak now. You guys need to partner and have better transparency with charges and what to expect! The staff did their best so no knock on them. But just not an ok surprise. Thank goodness that the drop off was fine because I took pictures of everything as the car was damaged but as I heard others in the lobby I was not the only having the same experience.

Ended up paying $500 dollars more when I got there to pick up the car. Also their address is incorrect and their customer service was no help on giving me an address. Finally found the place and staff didn’t even care when I told them their address was incorrect on their website and that their local offices phone number was also not working. This place is a scam and will never tell you up front exactly how much you are going to pay until you arrive to pick up the rental. Also be prepared to wait an hour to two for them to hand over the rental because it’s a first come first served place even if you have a reservation.

I book the car rental throughout Kayak. That was quick and easy. Once you get there they make you pay insurance for the car. The lowest insurance they have is $800. Which is ridiculous for 5 days. Then on top of that they make you give at deposit of $1,300. Stay away from this place.

I have rented cars many times. And this time was the worst I have ever experienced. I had a reservation scheduled with pricing set per email of $300 US dollars and I was not given the price giving on the email. They required their insurance and deposit added. Insurance was over 1000k US dollars Deposit another 1000k US dollars. Told them that I already had insurance that covered international rentals and they said they didn’t accept. How does this even happen and even allowed. Seems more like a scam. Was not the only one there with the same issue.

Cons:

The site we chose to pick up our car had a sign taped to its door instructing us to call a number. We waited for 20 minutes for someone to appear, who brought us to a different location 15 minutes away in the rental car we would be renting. They shouldn’t have made us go out of our way by advertising a false pick up location, it added unnecessary time and confusion to the whole experience. It was very pricy and there was a 4.5% hidden fee for using a credit card when we returned the car.

Pros:

Nothing. I arrived with a confirmation number and was told there was not a car available for me. I was left on the side of the road with no transportation in a foreign country

Cons:

Everything! See statement above. I had confirmation and arrived to pick up only to be told no car was available. Literally stranded on the sidewalk in a foreign country with no transportation. Will never use kayak again

Pros:

Do not rent here!! They lied to us about the car rental. Want more money (3x more). They blame all the to Kayak website do not have their inventory and intend of a full size car they want to have me a mini compact manual car from early 2000’s with a lot of damaged

No not offer this company anymore I contact Hotwire and cancel this reservation. They told me that they try to scam us. I prefer to rent my own vehicle with budget

If I had known they expected a $13,000 security deposit on the car I would’ve never rented from them. I was grateful I didn’t pay in advance that way I can walk away from the rental do not recommend

Cons:

I was not given an option to decline insurance coverage not needed or wanted. My reservation would not have been honored and they would have declined car rental. I had 8 pieces of luggage and 94 and 92 year olds with me. I had no choice but to accept very expensive insurance, not needed as my credit card covers it. Also, no car available on location for me and I had to wait a full hour for the car. I was lied to, being told it was being cleaned. I walked over to the cleaning bay to check and no caravan was there. I asked again and was told it was a few more minutes while they finished cleaning it. I confronted them and explained there was no car there and to give me an honest answer. They finally said it was coming from a different location. They still had to clean it when it arrived. Poor customer service and dishonest.

Very nice people. They take advantage tourists. Even if you went on priceline to get a price deduction for a car rental they don’t agree to it and give a price hike and make you pay are large amount for car insurance. I’m never renting from them ever again

They didn’t have any car available at the time I reached the car rental office. They even told me that my only solution was to go to other car rental companies, however same day reservations are usually more expensive. I found another place nearby from the company Mex Rent a Car, however I had to Pay more than double the price of what I reserved on Payless. I will never choose Payless again.

Full-size SUV

I went to pick up location only to find out it was closed on sundays. Called dollar directly, they assured me the car was going to be available the next morning. When u showed up, there were no cars available. Will not be booking with dollar again.

Minivan

Terrible, waited 2 hours and 40 min. First they gave me a car that had a flat tire, once fixed the mechanic realized there was imperfection with the front end suspension and recommended a change of vehicle. That took another hour, I asked to speak with a manager 3 times but kept being told his coming but never got there. Highly unlikely to rent here again .
