The vehicle couldve been in better conditions. The driver’s seat was broken and the seats were dirty. Also, I reserved a Jetta and they gave me a Vento. They would not honor my reservation for the vehicle I reserved.2.0 Poor

The whole experience was a mess! Ordered a Suburban, got a dated minivan. Took 2 hrs to prepare the car. People before us had waited 3 hrs. Most unorganized and disappointing experience with a rental I’ve ever had.U-Save

Courteous staff. Good car. Very pleased with the turn-in inspection of the car condition. Car was spotless at pick-up. (Alas, I could not turn it in as clean - washed the car the evening before turn-in, and the dusty Mexican dust took away the shine. I wanted to make it look. Better)Cons:
Did not like the explanation of the cost. At sign-in, they left me totally confused about the pricing, with the insurance. Then entered about US$400 on my credit card, as “deposit”?. When I turned the car in, they said, pay the new “bill” and your $400 is cancelled. At least that is what I think they said - I will see when I get my credit card bill later this month. If, indeed that $400 is cancelled - then National was truly excellent - the price was very reasonable (ie, very competitive). If not, kind of a rip off.2.0 Poor

On kayak the vehicle specified a vw golf or similar. A car which was able to fit two suitcases. National offered a Nissan March instead, a car which I was only able to fit one suitcase in it's tiny trunk. I had to cancel cause the car did not provide what kayak offered. Very disappointed6.0 Okay

The first SUV interior seat looks duty to many spots on the seat.. not clean very well. Plus broken on the road in Mexico? And the second SUV looks ok, but star driving and feel vibrations so alignment and later the light engine come on6.8 Okay

My Am Ex covers car rental insurance. I checked. The person attending insisted I pay for 3rd person insurance. I declined. She would only rent me the car if she secured $18,000 on the Am EX. $18k is beyond my limit. She got an extra $130 out of me.2.0 Poor

The car that we reserved and had confirmation for was not available upon arriving to pick up. This caused a lot of chaos and nerves as we were left without transportation. How can this happen when you have a confirmed reservation and are counting on having a vehicle? I've never experienced something this horrible and their customer service associates were horrible and didn't care we were left without transportation.2.0 Poor

Cons:
I was not given an option to decline insurance coverage not needed or wanted. My reservation would not have been honored and they would have declined car rental. I had 8 pieces of luggage and 94 and 92 year olds with me. I had no choice but to accept very expensive insurance, not needed as my credit card covers it. Also, no car available on location for me and I had to wait a full hour for the car. I was lied to, being told it was being cleaned. I walked over to the cleaning bay to check and no caravan was there. I asked again and was told it was a few more minutes while they finished cleaning it. I confronted them and explained there was no car there and to give me an honest answer. They finally said it was coming from a different location. They still had to clean it when it arrived. Poor customer service and dishonest.2.0 Poor

I rented the car I was given a price online. I was to pay at pick up. Once I got to Mexico to pick up the car, Europcar try to charge my credit card $9,000 US Dollars for insurance protection. I declined it online because my credit card covers any theft or accidents. The gentleman at the rental place said that he needed me to send him my visas terms and conditions which I did. He then said he still needed to place a hold. Because of the large amount the bank placed a fraud alert, and shortly after he attempted to run my card for the $9,000 US dollars I saw that they had a sign in Spanish that read that if you purchase insurance with them then there would be a $5,000 Mexican pesos hold on the card. In the end because of the fraud alert and such they ended up placing the insurance I left a $700 US dollar deposit and upon return I was charged almost $200 US dollars for the vehicle which I only rented for 2 1/2 days. They overcharged me, my initial quote was for $70 US dollars. I am extremely dissatisfied. The only good news is that I called my credit card company and explained the situation and they will submit a claim so that I only pay my quoted amount. Locals told me that yes I was ripped off and that next time I should pay ahead of time rather than waiting to pay at pick up.2.4 Poor

I had the worst service and i got the worst car, it smelled awful on the inside and it was so dirty and it wouldnt run more then 40 km. I was also given the car with an empty tank in a city that i dont know and i didnt have any nearby gas stations. With the conversión of dollars to pesos i could have gone to a junk car place instead and gotten a car of better conditions. Lastly, i do not understand how RentCars can have such a nasty company like Eurocars. I am extremly disappointed that i spent my money for such poor service and experience.Thrifty
