I reserved two different vehicles for the same price and cancelled the smaller vehicle. When I arrived to pick up the SUV I found out that Hertz cancelled the SUV reservation. The rep at the counter said they were the same price so he brought the SUV. When I checked out I was charged full price that hertz charged rather than the agreed price on the reservation, that’s about a $200 difference. Why bother booking anything online ahead of time if I’m going to be charged a higher amount when I return the vehicle.Reviewed May 31 2023

Car return, no one inspected the car on return to verify that it was refilled or if l was returning it in the condition l rented it. There were 3 workers standing in the distance that l had to approach. They were too busy talking amongst themselves and just informed me to leave the keys in the car, l asked for a receipt to verify my return... They said they email me one later? I left with concerns. Kayak made the reservation at a different location than I requested - not at the airport location. Forced me to use Uber. Hertz had my reservation, but didn’t have a car ready when I arrived. Eventually came up with a car smaller than I expected. I blame Kayak for most of the problem.Reviewed May 31 2023

Explaining what a rate jacket is, the lady I first picked it up at explained nothing. Over the phone the lady said my rental cost is going to be 280 and a deposit of 200, when I went to pick it up it came to be 300 total cost and 350 deposit. Communication would be niceReviewed May 31 2023

They didn’t honor the fee kayak quoted me at, the car wasn’t washed off at all. The gas was not full, the low tire pressure light was on. The guys at Hertz in Philly were awful. The Hertz lady in Boston was the only good thing about the whole experienceReviewed May 31 2023

Although I understood my car reservation was subject to the company’s choice of car I never expected to been offered a fully electric, sub standard Chevy Bolt partially charged. I was never been informed ahead of time that this was a possible choice, I found out at the time I went to pick up the car, I was not offered any other choice of car at the similar rate. This was a very stressful situation which derailed my vacation plans that required a long road trip. I been a customer of this Hetrz location in Montclair, CA and never had any problems before.
