The Southbridge Hotel and Conference Center, despite the name, does a great job servicing a family with young kids. The grounds are immaculate and the building itself is gorgeous. I wish I had some conference to attend there, because I bet they rock it. It's convenient to the Mass Pike, the 84, and southwest Worcester County. Southbridge itself is a little rundown in parts, so it not in the best neighborhood. The pillow service idea is genius--you can order up a different pillow for your sleep style. I wish them nothing but success and recommend them wholeheartedly. They gotta switch to UHT half-and-half over CoffeeMate, CoffeeMate is garbage.
The building is really nice. great setting The carpets need to be refurbed. Also, the Bar Staff really need some customer service lessons.
The friendliness of the staff on arrival.. I had just worked a long day and was filthy and hungry and just wanted to relax.. They treated me no different than if I was in a 3 piece suit.. They offered me some menus for take out and had me in a room in a just a few minutes.. The room was clean and comfortable.. I will def stay here again when I'm in the area..
The price was good. Comfortable beds and newer bathrooms. There were stains on the comforters. The microwave buttons hardly worked. I think the owners are about bottom dollar. They did the least amount possible to this place.
The Inn was conveniently located just off the Mass Turnpike. There is a nice family type diner next door with very reasonable prices. I would recommend this Inn for it's cleaniless, comfort, friendly owner, and value.
clean, convenient, donuts are fresh nothing
Great location...wonderful staff...would definitely stay here again! Bed and linens showed their age
My wife and I stayed here one night on our trip through the northeast. We weren't looking to spend a lot, and we also weren't looking for things that we weren't going to have time to use, such as a spa, pool, fitness room, etc. It had just been renovated within the last few months, and everything was in great shape. Plus it was a good deal on top of that. Nothing.
It's exactly what I expect from a Hampton Inn. Great loaction, friendly staff, good breakfast - many quality restaurants close by. A great museum (Old Sturbridge Village) is less than a mile away - highly recommended!!!!
A great disappointment! Staff were very confused and unprofessional upon check in. Took 20 minutes to check us in, then advised us they did not have room type we were guaranteed. As we checked into our room and settled in, we found hair in bathroom, mold on shower curtain. Bed linens smelled of body odor. Breakfast area was for sore eyes, low on food and no attendant to be found anywhere. At check out, we presented all the problems to the fdc, which occured during our one night (unsatisfied) stay. We were promised under hotel standards that we would receive a full refund under hotel's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. To date we have not received any phone call, letter or refund. We will be contacting hotel headquarters in regards to this property. Will not stay again!!!!
The Hotel Europe outside Killarney is fabulous. Great setting, food, services, location. Just hated to leave!
This is a really nice place to stay, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was good, and the room was very nice. We had the two queen room with microwave and small refrigerator, my only complaint would it would be nice to put in a small chair and reading light. Enjoyed the spa and pool as well.
We had decided to use this hotel for my daughter's out of town wedding (40 rooms for a span of 2 nights). It went so terribly wrong. When we arrived at 3:00 pm (check in time) there was only one person at the desk who was extremely overwhelmed. None of the rooms were clean and we all had to wait in the lobby until 4:30 pm until we could get keys. We should have run then but things only got worse. They put my daughter (the bride) first in a dirty room, then gave her a room that smelled of smoke. Some of the bridal party experienced no shower curtain and a buzzing noise that started at 1:00 AM which all seemed so minor to what came next. We came back from the wedding only to find they locked my sister out of her room and refused to let her in! Although we had booked the room for two nights, they said we only paid for one so we were not allowed back in the room!!! We asked for a receipt of how much they had put on our credit card and they said they could not give it to us. After my husband was on the phone with the manager for 1/2 hr (amazing he didn't have a heart attack right there) they finally agreed my sister could get her belongings from the room. She ended up having to stay in our room, while we all had to share a king size bed!! When my husband asked about their 100% guarantee they said we would need to take it up with Corporate - nice. My husband asked to meet the manager when he came in the next morning at 7:00 AM. When he met with him, he said he was sorry and we would not have to pay for one night's stay - seriously. They also said they gave us a room to eat breakfast in, that we did not ask for. When I think back to how beautiful the most important day in my child's life was, I need to totally block out the embarassment and heartache this establishment caused. Do not be fooled by the pretty exterior, for the customer service on the inside is just a shame. So sad this happened to my guests - truly unbelievable that they would treat people who brought them s...
When we lost our directions, the public computer terminal in the lobby allowed us to print last minute directions to our day trip destination via map quest.
Hampton Inn has always been our favorite hotel. the beds are large, the hotel is clean, There are plenty of amenities, breakfast was the best we've had for continental breakfasts. We would definitley stay here again. Hopefully we can use the pool the next time.
Once again another quality evening spent in Sturbridge. Great hotel, with a great location - lots to do, and good choices for food - will be staying again.
THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL WITH RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT OPTIONS FOR DINNER.
I usually stay at Hampton Inns, finding them well run, comfort and clean. And this one in Sturbridge was no exception. the staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was cheerful and the food was good and plentiful. It is located near several good restaurants and Sturbridge Village.
room did not have desk lamp or easy chair which is usually standard in the hampton inn's I have stayed in. bathroom ceailing was all patched - it seemed as if this room was under renovation and should not have been used until it was finished. breakfast was good as was pool and fitness facility. location great.
setting and historic setting
The tavern in the lower level had excellent food and wait staff. I found this relaxing and enjoyable. The potted plants around the exterior and in the entry were beautiful. No coffee pot in the room! The first thing I want in the a.m. is coffee.
Rooms was clean and quiet. I actually had a great night of sleep in the bed. Had dinner in the tavern; chicken pot pie was quite good. Next time we plan to try the Inn. Rooms could use some updating. Lots of toile: toile wallpaper, toile curtains, etc etc. I was a bit disappointed when our reservation stated the price included breakfast. In fact it includes coffee and a pastry. We went out for breakfast.
Lots of charm. Not a chain place. Very cute, clean, and different. Wonderful gardens . It is really spread out almost like a mini resort which is good and bad.
Bed was comfy, hair dryer in room No coffee maker in room, had to shlepp across parking lot to another building for ice, no fridge, because I was the driver my friend in next room would have a hike down to the main building if she wanted coffee in the morning
De-caf coffie 2nd room up 3 flights. We had asked for a room on the first floor but this was all they had. Stairs were dirty, no hangers. To tired after hard day and just went to sleep.
Beautiful decor (really), high ceilings, very clean, very neat. Even with the place pretty full (we went on July 4), we didn't hear much noise. Also very close to highway, but no highway noise. Their continental breakfast arrangement could use a little re-arranging. The coffe is squished into the corner making it difficult and awkward for people to get to. Seating is at tables that is really the motel lobby.
Rooms are updated nicely and I like the balcony overlooking Cedar Lake with the ducks and wildlife They need to clean up all the garbage and refuse along the banks of the lake and premises also they need to take care of their apple trees With an arborist because they are splitting at the base Of their roots because of all the heavy apples that nobody picks or uses which is really sad.
Have been using motel for number of years when pssing through. Always clean and comfortable. Old but has many updates.
Quality of all the help first rate I paid seven dollars a night extra for a couch. They have no couches so I paid extra money for nothing
The desk staff was very professional, cordial, and welcoming! We really enjoyed the privacy but that would likely be different if this stay was not in the off season. The facility buildings bordered a wooded area that provided a great view during the morning snowfall, very picturesque. Though the facility appears to have been built many years ago the rooms were very up to date. It was obvious that the owners were very savvy about making upgrades and making them look like they fit the room. Very clean room, nice furnishings, comfortable beds, nice flat screen, and well priced. Having to leave after only one night and that we had not found this fine establishment before this stay!
Super clean, comfy beds. Continental breakfast was weak, should have told us friendly's on the property had half off breakfast every week day.
The bed is comfortable. The price is low. The stains on the rugs. The rusted bathroom fixtures. The dirty towels ( I don't want to see someone else's mascara on my towels ). The police visits because of disruptions in other parts of the hotel. The fact that their TV channel lineup doesn't include ABC or NBC (never mind asking about HBO!) I don't like to give poor reviews but this hotel has gone downhill pretty quickly.
Updated facility Not easy to find. Google maps was cluless.
This hotel is just fine for a place to get some sleep. On a trip to New England I got tired and decided to take a few hours and stop for the night. Booked the room on my phone and arrived shortly after. Not much around for food choices but there are a few places that do deliver and the food was good and reasonably priced. Not and over the top resort but it was fine for the night.
Coffee in lobby Poor maintenance. Sink drain and toilet had issues. They didn't make up room for 2 days out of 6. Rugs stained and dirty. Would have left but other hotels in area were sold out. When I complained to the manager he suggested that I vacate the property!
Room had refrigerator and microwave as well as coffee maker.
The bed is comfortable (note: mattress only!) - housekeeping comes either very early or very late. No in between. - The blanket on the bed is nonexistent. You get a top sheet, a synthetic nylon "blanket" and then a decorative top sheet. - rooms have and attaching door in the wall. The store is worthless as it lets through about 75% of the noise. You can literally hear the people next to you if they clear their throat. - The cable TV has a limited channels. No HBO. Definitely not HD.
It was just an ok place to stay, nothing to say wow about. If your going to renovate a days in start with this one, it need it.

Beautiful room , nice large bathroom, two pillows on bed, soft and firm. plenty of towels given. very clean and new. Great breakfast in morning. Waffles, fruit, cereal, eggs, a lot for a breakfast with the room price. nothing I didnt like
The pool and Breakfast buffet No we were very satisfied
All staff very friendly and helpful. Pool is very nice. Overall excellent and immaculate !!! N/A
The bed was comfortable The shower was puzzling and the room was not well cleaned. The room smelled horribly of smoke. The air filter in the air conditioner was too dirty to function. I wish I had stayed somewhere else.
The friendly front desk staff quickly checked me into my room. They also pointed out the amenities available at the hotel. Thank you for a great room at a great price!
My room was very spacious with 2 king size beds, a seating area, microwave, refrigerator, and a spacious bathroom.Plenty of hot water, and a very gracious host.
Very clean and a good price. No
Nothing The room was old and dirty, It was a very creepy place.
Convenience of location No continental breakfast
This hotel was wonderful. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and beautifully laid out. Would definitely stay here again. No. The owners were very friendly and accomodating.
The owners were very nice and accomodating; feels like they made an effort to make sure you had everything you needed during your stay

Great people. They worked with us to make our experience comfortable. The location was perfect for us. The Rooms were clean and homey. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
You get what you pay for. The room was tidy but not clean; the carpet was very dirty, our bathroom had hair in it when we arrived AND a water bug, and there were used coffee filters in the coffeemaker (yuck). Outlets by the bed didn't work.

I like the convenience of where this motel was located. It was right next to a truck stop so if I missed breakfast at the motel I could walk next door to the truck stop to eat. It had very clean rooms and was nice a comfortable with a chair to sit in to watch tv or the bed.
