I reserved a luxury car (Cadillac or similar). On arrival I was told there were no luxury cars.I was offered a VW SUV instead. Not exactly a luxury car, or even similar. I was given no explanantion. The rate was adjusted, at least.Cons:

Nothing. After waiting two hours after my appointment for them to clean the car, they denied to release the vehicle to me because I didn’t have a credit card. I offered my debit card but they wouldn’t accept it. I offered to have my mom sign a form and use her credit card Hertz said no.Cons:

Staff at pickup were fairly pleasant but did not care that I was frustrated that my car size was not available although it said it was online. I was not happy that I had to pay for an upgrade. She told me that I can't rely on the 3rd party vendors like KayakCons:
The staff at the drop off were very nice folks. The pickup location... not so much. When I reserved the car on Kayak I reserved an economy sized car or whichever the smallest one is. Staff was good when I dropped off and understanding of my issue. They further discounted the rental for me to compensate for the inconvenience.Cons:
The car was not cleaned well when I picked up. There was a lot of dirt and mud around the exterior crevices and door jambs as if the truck was taken off road by the previous renter. Windows inside were filthy and there was no window washer solvent left. Dash was also dusty.10.0 Wonderful

The lady at the desk was great and made every effort to get us or car at the quoted price. However, we haven't rented a car in years and we're not familiar with the details. She was very polite despite our frustrations and was very professional.Cons:
I booked the car with a debit card but apparently you can't rent a car with a debit card without a credit check and paying extra. This should have been stated when I made my reservation. We brought a credit card but it was in my wife's old name and so we couldn't use it since it didn't match her licence. At the nice desk ladies suggestion, we tried to find a different ID with her old name on it but she didn't bring her whole purse on this trip. It was very frustrating. I had to get a ride to pick up the car and then my wife had to uber back up there with her credit card only to be told that wouldn't work as well. This could have been solved at the reservation point easily by stating you need a matching licence and credit card to book the car in the first place. Very disappointing.10.0 Wonderful

Charged me double the rate I made the reservation for. i never should have been required to pay outrageous rate that didn't match the reservation. If I wasn't in need of quickly getting to my destination, I would have walked away from the pickup counter and used a different company.AutoEurope
