Comfort and proximity to Kilkenny City No wireless broadband in room
A great experience, friendly staff, clean rooms, well priced and good food.
Staff were very friendly, the location was excellent and the food was good too.
The hotel was next to the river with a perfect view of Kilkenny castle. The reception, resturant, and bar were nice and the outside patio with view is fantastic. The room was in poor, poor condition. Walls were falling apart, it had walpaper that was pealed off in several places, the bathroom had several broken tiles etc.
Great lication Way to noisy. Barely slept
Beautiful location overlooking the River Nore and in turn overlooked by the magnificent Kilkenny castle. Everything was very good. Staff extremely friendly.
Excellent location to visit shopping and pubs/restaurants etc carpark quite tight so was difficult to manoeuvre car!!
Room was adequate. The highlight is breakfast, a continental spread with hot Irish breakfast as well. Views of the castle from the dining room. Staff is very friendly. Castle view rooms cost a premium, even in the off-season when the hotel is obviously under-occupied.
Location was fantastic, jacuzzi was very powerful, breakfast chef was very cheerful & accomodating. The receptionist 'Rose' who is supposed to meet & greet was disgraceful, would turn people off the hotel - maybe she was having a bad day ...
The Food and staff service was very good We had booked a non smoking room, when we got to our room there was a stink of cigarettes from the room. As there was a wedding on that night no other rooms were available.
The room was fab abd the staff are very friendly, also it is in a brilliant location Absolutely nothing
Liked the terrace and the facilities and close proximity to town Did not like the way everything is self-service especially out on the terrace having a drink plenty of staff going around collecting glasses that could have been serving also. Overheard also a lot of tourists complaining also about this. Also after paying our bill we were shocked to see that guests now have to pay €2 to exit their car. Disgraceful. Sign of pure greed and we did voice our opinion.
We both enjoyed the coffee dock in the reception area. The menu in this area was particularly good for a quick snack. Our stay was nice and quiet, no loud parties on our corridor, we were well rested. We also appreciated the location of hotel which allowed us to return with shopping to our bedroom and go back out again. We also enjoyed a day trip to Castlecomer Adventure Park, the Dunmore Caves and of course the Castle is just excellent. We walked in the Castle grounds each morning. The only thing we did not like was the excessive heat in the bedroom. We asked the housekeeper how we could turn it off or down but she said it could not be done. We mentioned this when checking out and were told it is controlled from reception. I think you sholuld tell patrons this when checking in.
All of the staff and the clenliness of all hotel.
The staff (especially reception staff) were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was lovely (bed and power-shower in particular).
The staff were very helpful, we were getting ready for a wedding and the mother of the groom and the family were with us, the hotel staff did everything they could to make sure we were comfortable. We had no tea/coffee making facilities and no water in the mini bar, this is essential mow adays and I was surprised to not have them
staff were very well mannered & gave an excellent service
Staff were very friendly and very helpful. Just to let people know the car park is 5 euro per day. Its across the road from the hotel.
All aspects N/a
Delux triple room was a bit small
The hotel is well positioned, right in the centre of Kilkenny and it was a dream to drive in and park up the car in the multi storey car park right opposite the hotel. We did not have to worry about trying to negotiate a car through the narrow busy roads. The hotel is clean and comfortable, with leisure facilities and a good breakfast all included. The staff are helpful.
Very comfortable, great loctaion
It was in a good, central location. It was hard to find.
The Room and welcoming staff were fab
We loved the location with easy walking to the castle and shops and pubs. Would recommend to anyone.
Lovely city and lovely hotel, parking included a bonus
The room was very comfortable and warming. Beautiful view of Kilkenny Castle from our bedroom window which was a great bonus. We thought that the breakfast wasn't satistactory. The scrambled eggs were cold and very rubbery. We didn't like the 'hot' food bar.
good location for nightlife and shopping, Heating wasn't on when we got to our room, and to be honest when heating was turned on, the room never really warmed up, and with the extreme weather that was outside, the hotel should have been better prepared.
Very clean, modern and convenient hotel The restaurant was good, but a bit formal if you only wanted bar food and suffered from road noise
The staff at this hotel were very friendly and the hotel was absolutely gorgeous..food was delicious and they really took care of their guets. will definitely visit this one again.
Excellent location, great room, some items in the cooked breakfast buffet could have been a little warmer
The Pembroke is centrally located near Kilkenny Castle, shopping and restaurants. Our room was large and nicely decorated with all necessary conveniences. The breakfast was delicious with many choices. Overall, an excellent value. Because of the central location, parking is a few blocks away. It really wasn't a problem, though, because we were able to walk everywhere.
We really enjoyed our stay at the pembroke. It was clean and within walking distance of everything. Every worker was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate. The only issue we had during our stay was the heater. It did not appear to work appropriately. However, our room was only slightly colder than the we would have liked, so it was certainly still comfortable.
it was lovely the staff were friendly and the place was spotless very central to everything as well
Hotel had an excelent location, and was very cosey and comfortable, there is a nightclub in the basement which can be noisey on weekend nights.
friendly staff and quality of food available no tea\coffee facilities in the room and restaurant closed table space limited in bar for dining
The meal we had at Jacobs Cottage and the excellent staff. Cannot fault the hotel on anything.
The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Lobby lovely for a coffee and good bar and barfood. Very noisy late at night
Great location, great staff, clean, comfortable room. Most comfortable bed I think I ever slept in!
Very noisy at night, didn't realise there was a night club in the hotel
very pleasant and helpful staff, excellent location no
The bed was so comfortable and the room was cosy which was perfect due to the cold weather. The staff were exceptionally helpful.
Really enjoyed our short stay - hotel was warm and cosy on a very cold night and the staff were very welcoming. Popped in to to upstairs bar on our return from an evening out and thought the music and atmosphere was great!
I liked everything about the Langton Hotel. Hint: if you want a quiet room, contact the hotel direct. We were above the bar on a Sunday night, so the music ended at 9. Friday and Saturday nights, it is much louder until later. Bring ear plugs or stay up until 2. The rest of the hotel should be much quieter. Queen bed was soft, twins were hard. A selection for everyone.
a very nice hotel food and drink of the very best quality we had a front room with a lot of road noise
The staff were absolutely wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Bit of a trek to the room but no big deal really
Location The hotel doesn'tt have a lift and we've stayed in the third floor. the decoration is a bit strange - the "exotic touch" is not adequate to the location and the rest of the hotel
The staff were friendly and our stay was very comfortable Could not fault this hotel in anyway !!!! First Class !!!
Friendly atmosphere Too noisy and our room was facing the road.. did not get to sleep until very late.. Also Breakfast was made with cheap ingredients.. breaded sausages.. etc etc..
attitude of the nightclub bouncers when we wanted to get into the hotel was not appreciated.
We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful dinner at the Restaurant and also the entertainment in the bar. the two male singers were brilliant. Staff were very obliging at all times, especially on arrival. The Bars and Restaurant are beautifully decorated and comfortable. Yes, two things. My room was supposed to be non smoking (As are all rooms), but there was a very strong smell of smoke in the room during our stay. (We are two non smokers!). Secondly, when at breakfast with our friends who we recommended to come with us for a weekend. The waitress came to me at breakfast and said politlely that were we aware that we had to pay for our breakfast! I was mortified, as my fiance Michael had paid for all of our stay, and my friend had come to breakfast with out her bag, I offered to pay after breakfast. Then Mary a Duty Manager called over to apologise and say in fact we had paid for the breakfast as part of the package. I know I modified my booking to a different date, but this was highly embarrassing!
we stayed 3 nights we had a great time very clean great staff and food rooms very clean. great music, big free safe carpark for guests would totally reccomend a stay or a visit to the o faolain bar and the kilford lounge,we will be going back tommy and esther no complaints at all
location and facilities
the location was great right in the heart of town nice friendly staff the only thing was the beds they need to replace them
entertainment facilities, e.g karaoke bar and nightclub. some bar staff on sunday afternoon were very slow to serve customers.
We had a delay on our travel plans, they were more than accomodating when we called them to explain making out of hours provisions for our arrival.
The staff are very helpful and friendly during the day. The food is fantastic. The staff can be quite rude at night but I think this may be due to the very long shifts.
Excellent location. Nice secure parking. Breakfast was yummy!!! Staff was very friendly and helpful!! Bed was a bit hard and uncomfortable.
1. Staff was lovely. Girl at reception was a treat, very friendly. 2. Great location, near to everything. 3. Breakfast was delicious. Parking was a bit tight.
The bathroom and bathroom facilities were lovely, clean and efficient, however the shower curtain was not long enough to satisfy hotels own request of keeping it inside the tub. The first thing that caught our attention was an old off cream digital clock that did not work, it left a feeling of dingyness. Reception staff were only barely polite.
The location of the hotel was excellent... but it is an old hotel which could do with a good revamp. Our Room did smell of smoke even thought I requested a non-smoking room.. The bed rooms are very very basic but clean and the breakfast is quite good if the staff could be a bit more friendlier
Another very pleasant stay at Club House where the staff were both welcoming and friendly. Love the old charm of the hotel and the atmosphere is most relaxing. Tasty breakfast served which set me up for the day. I will of course be returning to the Club House. I love this hotel and it will always be my first choice.
The bath ran brown water, the place has a strange smell about it and it's remeniscent of fawlty towers without the humour. I won't go back.
Very central. Nice staff. Good price. My room smelled badly of cigarette smoke. The decor of the rooms was quite grim.
friendly staff very helpful nothing was to much trouble close to city centre enjoyed my stay gretly
Central location to High St. Very friendly staff. Convenient. Exc. Parking facilities (free). Would have liked to have fresh fruit for breakfast.
ease of access and friendliness of staff
there was a funny smell when you walked into the hotel, really old kind of smell. But rooms were fresh.
convienient to local shopping tired old look
Our hostess was as good as they get. She knew the city, inside and out. Her recommendations, suggestions and directions, we're spot on! Quaint 1860's B&B, located right on the river and a short walk to downtown. If you like talking to the local residents, I can't recommend Bridgeview highly enough. I'm glad we stayed 2 nights. All was good.
Very clean and modern. Great position in the town and value for money There should be wifi in the room.
leaving...very spooky place and noisy all night until 3 or 4am maybe yes, very dark, spooky, winding hallways with no amenities-moldy in hallways
Near to town centre. Very noisy at night with drunk people singing until 3.30am under our room window. Had to go out across car park in middle of night to get hotel porter to move them on. No dial tone on phone. No tea / coffee maling facilities. Shower gel / saop dispensers empty.
Location facilities poor.TV did not work. Very cramped. Expensive for what was provided
Location, beds were very comfortable, ability to park Not having access to the Residents bar in the River Court Hotel
Location was perfect for an overnight stop on our tour of southern ireland. Facilities at the adjoining hotel were excellent. Better instructions on how to findMcCourts should be provided.
the room was 89 euro which was quiet expensive considering there was no breakfast. And it was very basic for the price.
The location of the hotel was right in the heart of the city which suits us all. The hotel was very basic and noisy.
good value room was cold at night & in the morning
It's an economy "cheap" section of a very nice hotel made up of an old building on the busy main street just across the river from Kilkenny Castle. The bed was comfortable and the facilities were adequate only. It was close to the town centre and lots of restaurants and shopping close by. It is used to house hen and stag parties with lots of rules that you are required to read. Frightening! We booked 2 months ahead of time and asked for a quiet room. We were put on the top (3rd) floor facing the busy main street. There was no elevator and it was a very small room. It was a cold night; probably the first of the season and there was no heat in our room. When we complained, a porter appeared shortly thereafter and promised that we'd have heat. An hour later, there still was no heat. After another call, 4 men crowded into our tiny room with us to try to solve the problem. As is turned out, there was another room available facing the courtyard of the hotel with heat. It was larger and much more comfortable. We were sent a bottle of wine for our inconvenience. Beware mature couples of the lack of an elevator and minimal facilities!
