Set back from the main road on, yes, a hillside. A few miles from restaurants, ski facilities and within a reasonable drive on Route 4 or 100 to Rutland, Ludlow, and Woodstock. Room had a separate sink and small frig, but no utensils or dishware. Room had unusual configuration. Bathroom area had no tub and shower was extremely small. Could not bend over. Toilet was in separate, basically, closet with no exhaust or fan. Breakfast was mini-muffins, mini-bagels, dry cereal, coffee, juice -- nothing special.
Friendliness of the staff. Continental breakfast was disgusting, cereal was stale, cream cheese for bagels was outdated from may. Nothing was fresh or appetizing.
Nothing My flight on Feb 14, 2015 was cancelled due to a heavy snowstorm in the New England region. This hotel (Hillside Inn at Killington) is the only business that refused to refund five (prepaid) days of stay. They could have made me pay for one day, but they took all the money for the entire vacation I was planning to take with my son at Killington.
Stayed for New Year's Eve. Hotel room was huge with big, comfortable king size bed. Very clean room with refrigerator and nice shower. Walls were a little thin with guests making noise but it was New Year's Eve so it was to be expected. Perfect location close to everything.
Nice cheap place to stay for Skiing.
First, this is a motel and not a hotel. If your expecting a hotel quality room at a motel price, then some of the previous reviews should be reconsidered. As a motel, and I have stayed in many across the country, this was the cleanest by far and the mattress was perfect. I honestly can't remember getting better sleep in 5 star hotel beds, but I don't like the super soft, big pillow types because of my neck and back issues. I also brought my own pillow as I always do. It also had a good size fridge, microwave and flat screen tv, which all worked. Room had plenty of clothing and storage space for such a small room. The free wifi actually had great strength, but you do have to step outside of the room to get a decent signal to call or text if you use Verizon. You would be hard pressed to find a better motel for $70 a night with free wifi and continental breakfast. Oh, the man and his wife that own and operate the place were very nice and freindly. Overall, this is my new go-to place to stay for value and location to the park. The cons would be that they provide small soap but no shampoo; some outlets didn't good the plug in; and the lower caulking at the tub was turning black in some areas and needs replaced.
Excellent, friendly staff (among the best I've ever experienced). Big rooms. Can't beat the price for being so close to Killington. A new favorite - will definitely stay at again. Continental breakfast could have been better (all carb products - just bagels, cereal, and english muffins). Some meat/protein (bacon, ham, eggs, sausage) would make it killer. Still a great deal as-is.
Breakfast was great - there's a wafer maker. The staffs were very helpful.
Walked through the door got a face full of spider webs. I wanted to walk out as soon as I open the door. The fridge was not even plugged in so I couldn't put our cold drinks in and keep them cold. The web site photos of the rooms did not lool anything like what we walked into.
