Excellent yet unassuming service from all staff. Very comfortable bed and pillows. All needs considered. I was disappointed that there were no slippers in the room this time where on my visit last year there were.
It was very pleasant
Walking distance to most sites. Very good variety of food/eateries within the hotel. Small but nice swimming pool. No hot tub; rather hefty charge for late check-out
Great location, welcoming staff, and comfortable beds! A+ all around.
location / good buffet breakfast / attractive, efficient courtyard design of hotel facilities
the staff were absolutly wonderful, really friendly and helpful. they recommended a thai resturant for us and it was great. the hotel was immcaulate and the rooms were cleaned everyday to a very high standard. would definately stay here again the hotel food was too expensive because we had brought our one yr old son and it would have been too extravagant for his taste, also the resturant beside the hotel called someplace else was digusting.
Everything was outstanding....i will stay here again for sure N/A
Room and bathroom very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Cost of breakfast buffet and room internet.
Early closing time of bar. This is supposed to be upmarket
A very spacious and light ambiance
Excellent hotel from top to bottom, I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling to Krakow. Great location, just outside the old-town ring. Easy walk to many areas and attractions. Supermarket just down the street, too. Wonderful staff as well. I was disappointed that the in-room wifi was not free, but sadly, that seems to be more and more common.
Literally everything was good. Not a single point I can complain about. Rooms are great, quiet, clean. Nice TV, free safe, nice beds. Good breakfast as well! Dont forget to order from the free menu on the table! And the view from the roof terrace is fantastic!
We stayed at the Hotel Kossak at the conclusion of a 19 day tour of Poland. We used Kayak and Trip Advisor to research location, price, etc. and we were extremely pleased with our choice. Of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip, Hotel Kossak was the best! The people at reception were excellent.... especially Monica. The beds had thick, comfortable mattresses and perfectly fluffy pillows. The air conditioning kept the room as cold as we desired. The coffee at the breakfast buffet was delicious.... Not too strong. The in room teapot was very convenient. The breakfast buffet was amazing! Initially, we ate everything in sight, but eventually we were very grateful for the Greek yogurt option! The rooftop was magnificent and the food up there was spectacular.... It was like a piece of artwork... We almost didn't want to eat it.... Just kept taking pictures of it! Delicious as well! Kudos to the chef! The location across from the river and the castle was perfect to walk to both Old Town and to Kazimierz. We also took a boat ride down the river with the discount coupon we received from Monica. The general store, Jubilat, was only two doors away.... Very convenient for snacks, batteries, alcohol, etc. Next time, we won't pack toiletries.... Easier to buy them at this store. The bus and tram stops were conveniently located a few feet from the hotel. Poland turned out to be a hidden gem, and the Hotel Kossak gave it sparkle! Thanks for a most comfortable and memorable experience! We will be back!
it was in krakow on business, but the hotel was great, staff too! o, and great location if you want to see the city the windows don´t open, but staff did it for me ...
Staff was friendly, good food and all around a nice place to stay. Nothing really that stands out.
This hotel is a month old so in perfect order; a few hundrer metres from Wawel castle overlooking the river. Staff very friendly and all speak English. Were very helpul in arranging axis etc. If you are looking for a busy place to be this is not it - yet. I suspect it will be very popular once more people know about it.
The location was only 10 mins from the square. Room was comfortable and great value for money. Absolutly no complaints.
The colour scheme and general design style was good, the location excellent and views from balcony terrace and bedroom were great. Only small things, such as bath was very slippery for shower and lights above the dining area tables were too low and obstructed eye contact with person seated opposite.
The suite was very nice and the staff were helpful. The food at the Percheron restaurant was exceptional. We truly enjoyed our stay and would like to return someday. Lack of a dedicated parking area was a disappointment - one would expect a hotel of this caliber to have dedicated parking for their guests.
Staff in front of house, bar, restaurants and rooms were very friendly. Seating in lobby / foyer very uncomfortable due to modern design so not possible to have a relaxing drink there.
nice, clean and friendly staff I saw the disco that everyone talks about. I can imagine that it can be noisy. I'd recommend staying in the lower floor to avoid the noise
I have only been in one hotel in Krakow, but Kossak has the best value for money. A view on the wawel hill, wonderfull breakfast buffet, with pancakes and omelets to order and helpfull staff. If there would a hotel kossak in more cities i would get a frequent visitor card.
Nice, modern and brand new decor, comfortable rooms, good restaurant, central location, close to Wawel castle
Liked the pool, jacuzzi and gym. The breakfast was lovely too and the staff were very polite and helpful. I did think it would be a little closer to the Square in the centre of Krakow. It was handy for Wawel Castle but not handy for the square.
Everything was as expected from a Novotel hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, clean room and good location. Room had a great view.
very pleasant staff, lovely breakfast, good comfortable room
proximity to sites of interest poor location due to very busy main road that has to be crossed to go anywhere, this was not mentioned in any hotel info that we saw, only on the last day of our 5 day stay did the reception tell us that if we walked 500 meters we could cross by an underpass rather than playing chicken across a 6 lane highway !
Staff efficiency and friendliness. Very clean rooms. Pool facilities were excellent, and not crowded. Reasonable bar prices.Would happily return to this hotel in the future.
Hotel was excellent, due to our flight being early we arrived a full two hours before check in time of 2pm and we got access to our room straight away! Some reviews mention that the hotel is too far from the city centre, this is simply untrue, max 10 min walk through what always felt a very safe area we found the distance to be perfect. Hotel staff were very helpful at all times. The buffet breakfast was also excellent and good value when included in room rate. Overall a very pleasant experience.
A new, very modern hotel, ideally located to visit Krakow. With a view to the river Vistula and Wawel castle, 10 min walk from the center, offers an ideal place to stay and rest, a bit apart from the crowd of downtown. You can take nice walks along the river and it is situated a breath away from the castle. The rooms are spacious and clean, well airconditioned and quiet. Amenities available, staff very helpful with good English, easy check-in/check-out, they let us stay in the room in the afternoon until our departure time. Although the breakfast was very good, its menu was exactly the same every morning. Very dull for people who stay there more than 2 nights, like us. They should have at least 3 different menus for breakfast.
we used the leisure facilities to break up the day walking around Krakow, we relaxed in our rooms and felt very comfatable. We used the restraunt 1 night when the weather was poor and was very satisfied, as with the bar before retiring to bed. ice making machine could be upgraded.
The room was spacious, and always very clean, the reception personnel was always helpful. They all spoke good English. The view from the front rooms is great. The Wawel castle and the river give a nice feeling. The hotel is situated in an area which is a bit far from the center (about 30 minutes walking distance). The breakfast is excellent but hideously expensive. Probably because they know that the guests have no choice... better take a taxi to the center and have your breakfast there! The room air condition was very noisy, but the cooling was rather weak.
Food, cleanliness, room
Design No pool, and I got a twin room instead of a double room.
The hotel Vanilla Sky restaurant was superb. Housekeeping was very courteous, considerate and quiet. Staff were very helpful. The hotel is very new, only two years old, and everything was clean and immaculate. Spa sauna was included, and the room facing the river was absolutely fantastic. The gym was small. The bar is not for hanging out, maybe simply grabbing a drink and taking it to your room. A bit far from city center to walk, doable though, a good 25 minute walk. Convenient tram stop right outside the hotel though.
The location is pretty good - in about 10 min walking from Wawel Castle. The hotel itself is very cosy and comfortable. The design of a SPA room is nice. Stuff is very friendly. The Vanilla sky restaurant is small but beautiful, the terrace is great especially for summer. Modest breakfast. It is declared that Wi-Fi is available, but it was not accessible, we have had to use cable instead.
the interior design of the hotel and the staff
perfect location for city trip ,clean ..everything was perfect .
Inexpensive yet up to international standards. Clean, comfortable, modern room and bathroom. Conveniently located near a tram line, and a 15-minute walk from the main square or Wawel castle. The restaurant is also pleasant. The hotel is a little farther from Krakow's main square than ideal. For those who want to be able to step outside the hotel and immediately be in Krakow's old town, this isn't quite the place. But if you're willing to put up with the moderate walk or a short tram ride every time you come and go, the Ibis is a great choice.
Value for money. Quiet, not too far from City centre. Air Conditioning.
Personeel aan reception as well in the restaurant and bar were very friendly. Sometimes a group was very loud and received the remote control from the basr to put the TV extremely loud ( euro song festival). The bar personel should control that.
Friendly staff, clean, fair breakfast, only a 10-15min walk from the historic city center main square (Rynek Glowny) Bed a bit hard (but still comfortable)
Hotel is nice and clean. Distance to old town is around 10 mins walking without a rush. Very close to the river and Wawel Castle. Staff is kind and really helpful 1. Linen and towels were clean and changed daily, however all was pretty much used. One towel was even ripped, which was very unpleasant. 2. Nothing was really seen from our window - it was just oppisite another outside wall
The staff in general were excellent and most had a good knowledge of english.the rooms were very clean. Breakfast was typically continental - but well presented. Generally a very nice basic hotel within 20 minute walk from krakow main square Very noisy 24 hrs garage on one side of the building- there was no air conditioning so having to open a window made the level of noise a lot louder -which was a shame....
central in city
Restaurant food was very impressive, Staff very helpfull
friendly staff having to ask staff to access the locked car park across the road and along the street from the hotel
The room we had was very spacious and clean and had lovely furnishings. The hotel is a short walk to the centre. It's in a great location. The food in the basement pub was good and the staff were both efficient and courtious The breakfast could be better. There was no choice of cooked eggs to go with the bacon apart from cold boiled eggs.
Staff very friendly and helpful, room spacious and very clean, good location, walking distance to main square and restaurants.
The friendliness of the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent choice of food for Breakfast.
Situated in walking distance to the main sights of Old Krakow, very friendly and helpfull, english speaking staff. The hotel is small and cosy, but with no real lounge, and the restaurant is seldom open. But the downstairs bar is nice. Breakfast is heavenly! Beautiful building, and large, nice rooms. Old fashioned interior to match the building, but modern fasilities. They only have hard matresseses, so some people might find the beds uncomfortable (my friend already has a troublesome spine, and she did not sleep well. I slept perfectly). Breakfast should be served in the beautiful restaurant rather than down in the bar. The hotel is in a rather quiet and safe street, but noice from the tram might be a problem in the early morning hours.
The location was fantastic, a very short walk to the old town, castle, and the university district. The staff was friendly. I enjoyed that this hotel had a classic feel to it though I would be cognizant of this if you have children with you that might not enjoy the old-world style. The comfort of the hotel could be increased by providing an extra pillow per person, and the thermostat did not work well.
Closeness to centre of City, good breakfasts, homliness. In particular I had a problem with my vehicle, my battery was flat due to very cold weather, minus 20 C. Hotel staff looked after the problem and had me on the road in no time.
Old style, nice service, good location
Very friendly and professional staff. Very good breakfast with a very nice variety of tasty foods. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. It was a very lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay very much!
Friendly + Helpful The staff had poor understanding of the english language - which can be easily rectified.choices for breakfast could be improved but not a big issue
Ostoya Palace Hotel is a very friendly and cosy hotel with excellent room service and beautiful interior with lots of space and elegant furniture. We recommend this hotel to other guests who like to be acquainted with good Old Polish traditions.
No tea and coffee facilities in the room, and the bar shut at 10pm
It is very close the old city center and the breakfast offer good.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Really good position close to all main attractions No
Breakfast is edible but just not good. Awful coffee, nondescript cold cuts. Bread is really good though.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, very observant and keen to ensure that we had a good stay. The bed was fantastic. The room, while not luxurious, was large, clean and airy. The breakfast was quite traditionally Polish, which may or may not be a good thing depending on your taste. The coffee was the only real disappointment. But the tea was fine.
very nice central position, close to the old town, own parking, even if very small the rooms on the main street are noisy
location and services
Staff were friendly and polite, facilities were excellent and the hotel was spotlessly clean, my room was cleaned every day to a high standard. Only that tea/coffee making tray would have made a difference to me.
staff helpful no air con but fans in room cold water on tap on both floors
Close to centre, great breakfast, very clean room and nice bathroom. Bed was comfortable. avoid the rooms at ground level facing the main street. Too noisy. Public transportation is a great thing, but it sounds like the tram is going right through your room :( no trams between 1am and 5am.
The cheap beer!!!!! The hotel had no hairdryers or irons to loan to guests.
It was a quiet location, no distrubance from traffic or passing people at night. Safe location and excellent location to castel and town centre. Staff were freindly & helpful
Friendly staff and nice breakfast. Location. Large room. I had a room on the ground floor facing the street. It was very very noisy with trams thundering past. On the 2nd night, I had to use ear plugs as I was shattered with the lack of sleep from the night before.
Perfect location, excellent breakfast, good restaurant for snacks and dinner if you decided to eat in after a long day sightseeing. Reception staff helpful especially the young man (didn't catch his name)
The hotel is good but there are too noisy at the street due to trams, buses, cars. Be ready that rooms do not equiped by air conditioning, so if it is hot as summer 2010 then you are gonna be boiled chiken... but the hotel has parking, small restorant with tasty food, personal is kindly and prices are little flexible
Easy access, private parking for motorcycles, location.
Good advise on city trips
its helpfull and cheerful staff. its location and price
The staff is very helpfull and friendly. The breakfast is very good but lakes some sweets. The only problem is the noise due to the tramway that passes on the street nearby.
The hotel is situated in 5-10 minutes foot distance from the old historical part of Krakow. The breakfast is good. It's the best place you can investigate the city. Personal is polite. I can recommend the hotel to my best friends.
We liked the close proximity to the old town centre. The rooms were bright and clean and the price perfectly suited our budget.
Great location, 5 mins walk to city centre. Very helpful staff in hotel coffee shop. Noise at times during early hours from rooms above.
Design Noise of the others
Great location, nice clean character rooms, great lounge for drinking below, but not too late
The location for sight seeing was perfect and the staff were delightful The ensuite had an unpleasant smell
