Excellent reception at desk service. Very good english skills for desk service people. I asked for extra coat hangers -got them within 15 minutes. Wake up calls were spot on time wise. WiFi is free. Good signal strength. Hotel is on a quiet dead end side street from a street with a trolley so it is quiet. Superb free breakfast comes with the room. Hotel dining room is a bit better than average. Had really great roasted duck on my wife's birthday. Hotel is built around an inner courtyard. Pleasant place to chat on lounge chairs and sip beer or iced tea. Little kid friendly. Heard lots of quiet toddler chatter. Lots of small shops within two blocks to buy beer, wine, pastries high end deli-like pastries and sandwiches. Easy 10-15 minute walk to center city Krakow. Easy to get a taxi at the hotel. Lots of cafe like small restaurants of different cuisines within four blocks. Hotel locale is not super up scale. Lenin free hostel around the corner, sex shop a block away. My wife and I both in the low 70's had no issues walking around in day time. Lots of working class people, youngsters, moms with infants, elderly on the streets in the day. We did not go out at night although our 44 year old son and friends were out bar visiting until very late and felt quite safe. I think the location is the reason why the Metropolitan is such a good value. If the location were in city central Krakow district the room costs would be much higher. It is a really great hotel value in an acceptable but not particularly upscale area..We would stay there again.
Great location and staff. Adam ran a great bar and really took care of us. The Courtyard was a very nice touch for morning coffee and evening drinks.
location and staff promptness breakfast needs more food options
The room was clean and I enjoyed having a gym, pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room and just a short walk to the Kazimierz District. Also the tram station is just 2 blocks which you can take to the old square, galleria shopping mall and even to the main bus station then on to Krakow Airport.
I found very helping staff, ready to help and the breakfast was awesome:)
excellent service, staff very helpfull no in room coffee making facilities, lack of choice of english speaking tv channels, no currency exchange facilities
Staff very friendly and efficient. Food very good especially the breakfast menu.
New modern construction with excellent services, superb relax area with fitness and pool with breath-taking view over Cracow
polite and friendly staff/good selection of food at breakfast buffet. swimming pool could have been a little warmer.
Friendly helpful staff. Poor standard of food in the hotel restaurant. We had an evening meal at the hotel on one night. The food was cold, took a long time between courses and the restaurant was very drafty. We used the hotel pool once, the water was cold.
Excellent choice of various types of food for breakfast. Lovely decor in bedrooms, bathrooms and other areas in hotel. Good bar food.
We found the restaurant to be excellent. We had two evening meals in the restaurant which were excellent. Also excellent buffet breakfast. Our only complaint was the distance the hotel was from the main square of Krakow.
The hotel facilities - new modern hotel, good breakfast, internet access, quiet location, free boat to Wavel Castle on the hour, free packed lunch if required, helpful staff with relatively good English. Limited dinner menu and airconditioning was unreliable. The magnetic swipe card to access our room kept failing.
Very helpful staff very clean hotel, we enjoyed the breakfast plenty to choose for myself and my two teenage sons rooms were very comfortable and kept very clean, overall a lovely hotel to stay in I would recommend it to others The problem when we arrived the door entry system didnt work so we had to call the porter every time we wanted entry to our rooms! this was nobodys fault but having two rooms and my teenage sons were in one of them caused problems , the problem was rectified by the first evening
Breakfast very good
Perfect location, parking, spacious rooms, good value for money. No mini bar. Needs renovation, but clean.
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Royal. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful - and the staff was very friendly. The location cannot be beat - since it is right next to the royal Castle - and right in the center of the old town. I didn't like the plumbing - the toilet could use some modernization.
room, original restaurant, stuff big hotel but only few elevators, long way to the room :-)
fabulous spacious room, spotless and very comfortable. wonderful decor and perfect location. i would recommend to anyone.
The "cheaper" rooms are very poor and situated under the roof next to the housekeeping rooms. It was raining in through the ceiling on the bed!!! The price was an offer - next time I will spend more for a better room.
huge room, great location, tasty breakfast, nice stuff too loud and there is no air conditioner
My second time staying here and after getting stuck in krakow due to weather conditions the staff were brilliant.
Convenient location Room was not fresh - had a tired feel to it. I was on the third floor of a building that was not connected to the main building at the third floor. This meant taking an elevator up one flight, going down long hallways, up a few different flights of stairs, and lots of walking. This was very inconvenient.
Close to central square, when you stay in Royal hotel, which is the old building, you can feel all beutiful of Krakov
The property was much bigger and offered much more than expected. They even have a sightseeing tour bus of Kraków, a spa, a salon, and 2 restaurants. The decor is to a high standard and the lobby presents like a pricier boutique hotel. This hotel is CLEAN! Not only was the room spotless, but every public area was totally clean and neat too. Even the children's play area! The pool was clean and the water was heated to the perfect temperature. The jacuzzi was awesome! Changing rooms, showers and lockers were also available. A receptionist was on hand to provide towels too. The included breakfast was served in a HUGE, beautifully decorated dining hall complete with tablecloths and place settings. The breakfast options were what you'd expect of a restaurant with many options. Fresh juicy fruits, eggs, bacon, pancakes, several different meats, lots of different salads and breads. This was far more and far better than a basic continental breakfast. And it was all delicious! We had an issue with our room lights and someone came within 5 minutes and fixed it. The staff was friendly and polite, as could be expected at a 5-star property in New York or London. The room was comfortable and well decorated with a great view of the river. Major negative - no iron in the room! Guests are required to give the clothes to the staff for ironing service, and the up charge is steep. It cost around €20 for a business suit. I really did not like that and it was the very first time I have ever seen a hotel not provide the option to just get an iron and press your own clothes. It takes a few hours so I was lucky to call early. It was rather easy to hear people in rooms next door, especially when they spoke loud. Also, there were travelers with kids and those jerks had the kids running around and jumping up and down until maybe midnight, which could also be heard in the room. The sound proofing could be better. However, I would absolutely stay at this property again and recommend it to friends and family! They seem to have brisk business especially with international tourists and they deserve it!!
The hotel is located within a 10 minute walk to the Old Town but the hotel itself is surrounded on 2 sides by buildings undergoing much needed renovation. The hotel itself is well maintained and very nicely decorated. Staff very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the chef puts together dishes using unusual ingredients that I never would have thought of but are a culinary delight. Highly recommended and will stay there again on our next trip. Not much to dislike except the buildings on both sides which are being given a much needed facelift. Not much that the Queen Boutique could do about it but I wouldn't let that deter me from staying there
Friendly and knowledgable staff with a make-it-happen attitude. Fantastic restaurant experience. Breakfast buffet also includes some a la carte options. WiFi was stable and relatively fast. Rooms were super clean, well maintained and comfortable. Definite 5 star property. Honestly, nothing. Great experience.
The staff are outstanding ambassadors for Poland and the hospitality industry. From the moment you walk through the door you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble. This is a new hotel and the staff are young, well trained and courteous. My bedroom was beautiful - everything was so fresh. The dining area, located in the renovated basement (as many are in Poland), like the rest of the hotel is simple yet sophisticated in decor and the food is to be highly recommended. Having arrived in the hotel at 9pm I was delighted to be able to dine and enjoy a wonderful meal in the restaurant. The hotel location is excellent, located 7 minutes from Wavel Castle and about 15 from the central square. This is an hotel which I recommend highly.
Staff were always extreemly helpful and always with a smile
Location and overall feel lack of tea and coffee in the room
The location was excellent and the staff friendly and helpfull. Breakfast was plentiful and varied.
I booked the hotel due to a pricing error, I got the room for 44 PLZ including breakfast, the hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy and with very good facilities, the restaurant and bar were also top class, the staff were very friendly and spoke good English, the breakfast was also very good. My only complaint and its nothing to do with the hotel is that the area is very quiet with most places closing around 10pm, I think this may be a seasonal thing as the city is quieter through Autumn and Winter and there are less tourists about, however there are bars open within 5 minutes walk away.
The staff was very helpful. Changed or room when the one we got was too hot. Beds too soft
I had a great stay. The room was clean and modern. The staff was polite and extremely helpful.
The hotel has a boutique feel and the staff were friendly and helpful and is in the Kazimierz quarter of the city which is quieter than the old town square and perfect for a quiet nights rest if you have been on the road all day.
Fantastic renovation which was clearly illustrated with lots of photos. Good situation. Good breakfast. Lovely apartment. Still very new - only open 2 months, so some finishing touches required, like information pack in room (Number for reception etc). Some bare wires coming out of the walls in the bathrooms. No gym as stated in the hotel description - they have had to close it.
Location was perfect. The atmosphere of Kazimierz surpassed the popular Old Town, which was still easily accessible by foot. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff most friendly The Polish breakfast was not my favorite, but that is a matter of taste, I suppose
small, pleasent, intimate, large room, flat screen TV slightly confused staff
Very nice hotel and good location. Room was very hot though and ac did not help. Breakfast was awesome! Just the temp of the room and our room had windows to the hall which was a little creepy
The hotel is stunning with large rooms (a suit in fact!) and the standard of decor was A1. The breakfast was first class with as much choice as anyone would need. There is a club next door which can be heard as a distant thud on a Fri and Sat night if you are not a heavy sleeper.
The staff. The bed was too firm and lack inside control of the temperature.
hotel staff couldnt do enough for you rooms need tea and coffee facilities
It was in an ideal postion, the breakfast was very good, the staff were friendly and helpful
The staff were very very helpfull and polite .The room was cleaned every day to a very high standard.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The bedroom and bathroom were immaculate The double room turned out to be a twin room, although we didn't let that worry us. But the heating was crazy! So hot I hardly slept at all during the first night and very little during the other 3 nights of our stay, even with the windows open. Also this is the only hotel I've ever stayed at that has no tea/coffee making facilities in the room - having got up parched every morning a cup of tea was all I wanted. It's a shame that these things spoiled an otherwise great hotel - I'm sure both are easily rectified
Very nice staff and good location by the Kazimierz district
New/clean/good location Shame it is on a noisy street/you can't open the windows to get some air without excessive noise
The staff was very nice and helpful and the hotel is located in the most interesting neighbourhood of Krakow, while still being close enough to the old town.
The bedding was very crisp and fresh, massive bed. Very big clean rooms and bathroom. The breakfast was excellent. Hot and Cold food. We were at the back of the hotel, very quite. Excellent position, just 10mins walk to Market Square, right in the Jewish District. Nothing
location,renewed rooms,staffs,hospitality,parking place
Small, very comfortable and convenient.l
amazing atmosphere in line with the lovely old town neighbourhood and the Kazimierz quarter, very kind and helpful staff, walking distance to all points of interest in Krakow (also less than 5 min to public transport stops if you don't want to walk)
Hotel in good position - walking distance to the majority of Krakow's tourist spots.
Pleasant stay. Nothing flash and offers good value for money. Good location.
the location, breakast and bathroom were very nice and we really enjoyed it while staying ther.It is a nice, quiet hotel but i would say 2 stars not 3. Unfortunately the bedding and sheets have to be changed, the bed was too old with a very slim matresse, unconfortable
Location - close to bars and resturants in Kazimierz area and short walk to Old Town.
Free bottles of water. Old world charm. Excellent breakfast. Air con. No complaints at all. Have already recommended it to a friend who intends to visit. Not fussed on orange bedspreads. Bit dated. But thats being very picky. Thet were spotlessly clean.
the hotel is well situated for sightseeing and the main square, the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good with plenty of choice, rooms are clean with all facilities and plenty of hot water., electrical socket for kettle badly situated
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location of the hotel was excellent.
Very convenient, free safe box
quite; small; nice location; good looking; good internet connection from the room; nice and attentios people more soap and a champoo would be desirable in the bathroom;
Excellent location, cleaness Some details which are not acceptable in 4 stars hotel: poor breakfast, bad coffee, no hot milk on the coffee table, no mini-bar in the room. It's rather 3 stars, not 4 stars hotel
located in a quiet neighbourhood, free public parking in front of the hotel Hotel Ester is worth 3 stars, not 4. Old-fashioned hotel. Poor breakfast: self-service coffee & tea facilities don't work properly, staff is neglecting guests, if you get up late, a lot of items aren't available anymore at the buffet
Excellent location. Enjoyable stay. With a couple of exceptions the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. All spoke and understood English language.
Excellent location, quiet & nice surrounding and great style N.A.
Quiet position yet very close to a selection of restaurants and within walking distance (or an easy tram ride) of the castle, central square, railway station etc.
The room I booked was for 3 adults and there were 3 full size single beds with plenty of extra space also in the room. It was a perfect location in the Jewish Quarter within walking distance of the centre of Krakow. Plenty of restaurants and bars close by. The hotel was very clean as I said good size rooms, modern bathroom, safe, fridge with water.Breakfast was not much choice but it was enough for me. I would definatly stay at The Ester again and would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends
Location and great decoration of the rooms A little too pricey.
Beautiful Rooms Reception staff could be quite rude at times
very central, clean
Excellent situation in the middle of Kazimierz. The hotel was clean and new and the staff very helpful.
Very good location. Very good breakfast. Very friendly staff in the reception. We have booked double room, but since we were with 2 years old boy we got bigger room. Definitely I would choose the same hotel if I would be in Krakow.
Excellent location, the hotel is modern, simple and clean, very friendly staff and good value for money poor air-conditioning
Excellent location in Kazimierz and many excellent restaurants within 200 yds. Novel and well executed decor. Quiet rooms in rear overlook Jewish Cemetery.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel was convenient and in a lively & interesting area, and the hotel room had everything I needed. Also, the staff answered my emails exceptionally quickly and very clearly.
Fantastic Hotel. Friendly staff. Free cable internet. Clean and cosy rooms. Located in a zone with restaurants and bars, but very quiet. Has very easy access to the old town in Krakow. Nice breakfast. Definitly to be recomended in a price-quality relation. Nothing relevant.
The location is fantastic. Easy to find and the avaibility of parking spaces is a bonus in this central location. Excellent breakfast.
Very good location in the centre of Kazimiercz, about 15 minutes from Wawel and city center. Lots of sites of interests in the neighborhood, very good cafés and restaurants, however the street was quite restful, enough to sleep with an open window without major disturbance. The furniture is quite simple but practical, the rooms are very clean and the bathroom is excellent. The breakfast is very correct.
good central location with very helpful staff. Hotel not expensive at all for the facilities none
good location adjacent to the jewish district and an easy walk to the old town square no air conditioning or safety deposit box and the heating was not controllable by the guests
Reasonable hotel in a good location, close to Kazmierz district with plenty of good restaurants and bars. Excellent shower. Friendly staff. Rooms rather small for more than one night. Price was not competitive, and I suspect it did not offer good value for money.
The central location Some noice from the street
Friendly staff, clean rooms, great buffet breakfast and good value for money.
The breakfast was lovely
good location having to use locked staircase to access room
i have got the price in euro, but in the hotel i had to pay in zloty. Finally it was more than the price I have booked.
clean room verry bad coffee on breakfast
Price at 199 PLN nothing
Good location, good breakfast, nice rooms Rooms located from the street quite noisy, guarded parking only remote from the hotel
Extremely helpful and friendly staff
I like the hotel's location close to Kazimierz as well as the Rynek. I also like the hotel as it is a friendly hotel with excellent staff and it is also not too big. The staff were very kind and helpful. I'd have like to have had a tea/coffee making facility in the bedroom.
rather uncomfortable mattresses; streetside rooms can be noisy
Good location, kind staff. The milk products for breakfast were unfortunately not cold and the first day the coffee was not warm
The location, the breakfast, and the attitude of the staff.
Helpful and courteous staff with good command of English. Modern bathroom, large room, comfortable bed. Good breakfast buffet. Very close to a variety of restaurants, cafes and bars - and public transport. Smell of cigarette smoke from other rooms.
good room, friendly, location to Market Square
We did not stay at the hotel regent because as we arrived they said the hotel plumbing was not working and so there were no rooms available and we were moved to Galycia for one night and then the rest of the stay was in hotel Rezydent. My comments are below The hotel plumbing was very noisy, every time you ran any water the plumbing made very load noises. The walls were so thin that you could hear a conversation in the room next door.
It's central position for seeing the various parts of Krakow There was no bath, only a shower
breakfast clean room
