Pros: We loved Loren and Sofie the owners. They were VERY friendly and helpful...they even squeezed fresh orange juice for us both mornings! The room was large, modern and very clean. The bath was lovely. The parking lot is directly in front of the hotel which is VERY helpful as parking is an issue in La Rochelle. The hotel is a 3 minute walk to the harbor where all the action is. Can't understand why more Americans don't visit beautiful, romantic LaRochelle!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This B&B in an old dairy is like a beautiful boutique hotel. We had a family room, which was stylishly decorated, as is the whole dairy. The garden is enormous, with lots of comfortable seating. The pool area, very well used by my daughters, was perfect. Patti and Patrick were the perfect hosts, a delicious breakfast in the morning and they also supplied us with plates, cutlery etc for our picnic in the evening.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were very friendly and could not have been more helpful, this old industrial building has been tastefully transformed into an ideal B+B with the bonus of a swimming pool and beautiful garden, to relax and eat in. Breakfast was superb with home made conserves and cakes, with really nice bread from a local artisan baker.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was enormous with an amazing selection of home made jams bread cheese etc. We couldn't do it justice so she packed a few items to take with us. Owner could not have been more helpful recommending and booking a restaurant for dinner for us as well as telephoning our next venue to sort an issue. Amazing!!

Pros: Aude was very helpful and accommodating. The room was spotlessly clean.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: hostess was very helpful tastefully decorated good breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, we wished we could stay longer!
Cons: Nothing, all was very nice!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Room was OK but was in the back garden. Hosts wandering about, felt like a prisoner in the room. Breakfast probably OK if your a new age traveller (smoothie and yoghurt) bread and jam.... That's it!! Not in nice part of la Rochelle and 25 min walk to town. No tea or coffee in room. We will not be going back here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Big and airy room. Great breakfast and lovely relaxing garden.
7.9 Good
Pros: The owner of the property was lovely and helpful. The place was very clean. The breakfast was fine and the bed was fine. If location is not important to you the place is a good value for the area.
Cons: There was no way (at least that we saw) to get fresh air into the room. The skylight was too high to open. The accommodations, although serviceable were fairly basic. The location was not within convenient walking distance to the port (which was my mistake) but in residential neighborhood. If you are staying in La Rochelle and need a serviceable place and location is not as important, it is a good value.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our bedroom was great - the bed in particular was really comfortable. Breakfast was different every day and was lovely. Great location for getting in and out of La Rochelle easily. Good advice about where to go, where to eat, and the weather!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcome by Aude was exceptional. The accommodation was very clean and up-to-date. Parking in the street was easy. Aude gave some recommendations for dinner in the evening - very good and affordable.
Cons: My bed was a little bit short and the internet connection was slow - but this didn't have an impact on my stay at all.

Pros: A traditional large property with a lovely garden perfect for breakfast, which was really good. We had a large room with a Hamman in the bathroom, which also had a gorgeous wooden bath. The fan was very welcome in this heat.
Cons: Just for future reference, it would be nice to have some milk in the fridge for coffee
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was a superb breakfast in a beautiful garden. The host couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. The B&B was beautifully decorated...it gave us ideas for our own home!
Cons: Nothing. The B&B exceeded expectations

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely house. Nice welcome from Gasperd. The Blue room was very nice. Great shower room and luxurious bed linen. Thank you for the wonderful restaurant recommendations, we used all three
Cons: Nothing. Only downside was parking in the area but this is not the fault of the property.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Superb location and a very comfortable, well equipped lovely room.
Cons: It is a Bed and breakfast and not a hotel so was slightly confused about entrance procedure.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a very nice hotel. The breakfast is really nice and Bertrand is a lovely host. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The location is very good - easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, the highlights of the city, the harbor, the train station.
Cons: The room was great, but the cleaner they use in the bathroom smelled like cat pee. It was not dirty, just smelled bad, so I kept the bathroom door closed. But maybe they could change the cleaner. For the rest everything was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast in the courtyard! Comfy bed, very clean room with great shower.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We felt really welcome at Villa Verde: Fernanda and the other lady working there were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Villa Verde is gorgeous: beautiful decor, large rooms, airy breakfast room opening onto a balcony and garden. The breakfast was fresh, healthy, varied and abundant. The ambience at breakfast was very pleasant with soft Brazilian music playing at the background - sets you up for a relaxing day. The room was spacious with a fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities. Toiletries were organic and sustainable. One could also make use of bicycles belonging to the property, which is a great way to encourage sustainable tourism. Villa Verde is located near a park, through which you can walk to the beach. We had a very restful and pleasant stay - thank you Fernanda and the team.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, beautiful house, nicely renovated. Staff very friendly, good breakfast, big room. Only a short walk to city centre.
Cons: Parking is only one spot in front of the house, just on the street, not guarded. So parking should not have been mentioned in the description of this accomodation. Also, you can indeed use bycicles free of charge. We used two of them, both not in good shape (no lights, flat tires, ...). Pitty because it is nice cycling around La Rochelle.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff big comfortable room very clean superb breakfast all hand prepared
Cons: Parking in the street kettle in room but had to ask for reabags and milk Tiny bathroom
8.8 Excellent
Pros: On arrival we were met and advised of a couple of restaurants to use in La Rochelle, an excellent choice and experience had at La Meme on Rue de Dames. Breakfast was well organised and received, however our friends request for Gluten free bread was not met which was a downside to our experience.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A great stay very central location spotless and very good breakfast and very helpful host Thanks for everything and bon chance in December Agnes and Gerry EAGLE HEIGHTS b and
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great welcome, parking was ok, on the street but right outside
Cons: Was really disappointed that despite promising that gluten free bread would be available for my wife this seemed to be a surprise to the lady serving breakfast. This requirement was clarified and confirmed at the point of booking and for us really tainted an otherwise great experience

Pros: Owner is fantastic and very helpful. Place has an eccentric decor one finds comforting and interesting, RL furniture with ancient prints mixed with modern art. Very relaxing place just steps from the port. Public parking lot is close. Just made a mistake too many of you will no visit and I will not be able to have a room
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A joy from start to finish, Angelique made us feel at home in her beautiful house. Great design and perfect location.... a real treat! A perfect place... Thank you for having us.
Cons: Tea / coffee making facilities in room would have been nice... other than that faultless

Cons: Not a thing. We were delighted to have found such a lovely place to stay in La Rochelle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole house is very sympathique and decoration is finely arranged. Location is perfect and parking downstairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay at this quaint and cosy chambre d’hôtes. A baby bed was installed in our room. The room on the ground floor is perfect for couples with baby as we could have a glass of wine in the court yard while our son was sleeping. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. The hosts were very nice and helpful. Central location with lots of restaurants nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was fantastic. Housekeeping was excellent. Angelique couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend staying here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old French traditional house with a perfect welcoming hostess. Excellent position for visiting La Rochelle with many restaurants nearby.... would be happy to stay again.... maybe for longer!
Cons: Entry could be easier and front door bell needs attention
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The place is a lovely old house very well looked after. The host is very nice and polite helped us a lot with her advice. Noting that the guests are limited to their room and the small lounge and patio.
Cons: The breakfast was ok but not worth the 13€ pp. There was bread, croissant, fruit and jam plus coffee. I had read reviews on booking about breakfast being amazing but having tried it it did not prove to be value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole stay was a wonderful experience . The facility was first class and the lady who owns and manages the property was delightful, very considerate and very helpful . The breakfast was great, fresh croissants, fresh fruit and wonderful home made jams . I would definitely recommend .
Cons: There was nothing , I did not like. I suppose we would have liked to stay a bit longer, but perhaps next time.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole experience of staying there was excellent. The breakfast was fantastic and most of all the best part of staying there was the way the lady of the house made us feel so welcome. It very much felt like you were getting a personal first class service.
Cons: Cannot fault anything.
7.7 Good
Pros: The location is fantastic, 300 metres from Old Port and shopping streets. The owners, treat you like their best friends, the bedrooms are sublime, and the area tranquil.
Cons: Parking can be difficult.
7.3 Good
Pros: An excellent location to bars, restaurants, shops and Port. Within walking distance.
Cons: There was a cat in the guest house which was not previously mentioned... not good if you have allergies! I however did not mind this.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Furniture and location good. Food and hospitality good.
Cons: Difficult to find.directions not clear . Entrance stairs and hall not quality I expected. No bath , no solid soap in shower No biscuits/ fridge facility.
6.3 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed and nice breakfast.
Cons: Expectation that you pay with cash. (Didn't that stop in the 20th century?) Ruined our stay - we thought either everything was sorted by Booking or we would pay by card on leaving. Created stress and worry on checkout and car was on a meter. Didn't like the entrance - 2 long dark corridors. Noisy people upstairs - you could hear every footstep in the morning which woke us up - and they had breakfast right outside our room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice room and decor. Good location.
Cons: Not enough hot water. The owner was very busy and we didn’t feel particularly welcome.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Central location. Staff very helpful.
Cons: All good
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice welcome. Excellent breakfast - Elizabeth had prepared a couple of home prepared additions. Tastefully decorated and very good value for money.
Cons: The house was very well located although being St Patrick's day there were some loud late night revelers walking past quite late. The floor was very squeaky.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What an absolute treasure to find this b&b in the heart of La Rochelle, lovely, helpful and friendly hosts, calm and tastefully decorated rooms and a very comfortable bed, and with a super breakfast with fresh produce all beautifully presented....and we don’t normally even eat breakfast! Great place to stay for a few days
Cons: That we had only booked to stay two nights...wanted to stay longer!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Smart and clean hotel. Very convenient, good value and easy. Liked it very much.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What a gem; this was a real find. Part of the hotel could have been modelled on Wormwood Scrubs, with its iron walk ways with rooms off!!, but it worked very well. Everywhere was bright and colourful; the room was comfortable - great bathroom and bed. Breakfast was excellent value and of high quality. Throw in the splendid location, the equally splendid staff, and a pleasant bar and you have an excellent experience.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was great - only a minutes walk from the harbour with a great patisserie nearby and a convenience store right across the square. The in-house bar had a nice atmosphere if a little under-occupied.
Cons: Having a bathroom door would be a big plus... not all couples want to share every moment! :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hotel and great staff
Cons: Nothing everything was great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: WOW! What a great hotel! We arrived after our last day on a bike tour. The hotel kindly found us a storage room for our bikes. The hotel is a renovated building and is full of really interesting details that add real charm to what is otherwise a very modern hotel. The staff gave us advice on hotels and suggested a visit to the Maritime Museum(really interesting). Great breakfast. Definitely a hotel worth a visit!
Cons: Minor leak in the shower. Could be fixed with a washer in 2 minutes!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location Cleanliness Comfort
Cons: Style of main area. Rather lacking in aesthetics tbh
6.7 Good
Pros: The modern design, clean and neat rooms, nice staff.
Cons: The rooms were nor ready and we had to wait about 30 minutes to be accommodated, children were tired and impatient, staff did not offer anything as compensation ( e. g. water, snacks ) and they generally didn't care. No parking place was available although the info about parking facilities is on the website. We had to pay for the municipal carpark. The kettle cord is so short that you have to put the kettle on the floor, next to the socket, to boil some water.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location in the harbour
Cons: The small thin pillows
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good location easy parking good breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellect, next to the port, the meuseums, and the historical city. There is also an underground parking 50 meters away. The hotel is modern, well made and very nice inside.
Cons: The room size was somewhat smaller than the photos suggest. Not a big issue as it was still sufficient in all regards.

Cons: Long walk from parking when you have a false hip
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very well sited hotel, very clean, staff excellent. Basic but very comfortable, good bed. We had a courtyard facing room so no great view but since it was pouring with rain it didnt matter. No parking but they have a good deal with a local car park. Nice touches like umbrellas. Good restaurant recommendations from reception, spot on. We didnt have breakfast as delivered to rooms, preferred to go out. No lift which didnt bother us but avoid the top floor if you're not up to steep stairs. Really liked La Rochelle, an interesting and attractive town.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent you literally cannot beat it
Cons: I guess having breakfast included would have justified the price. We had a family room of 4 which was pretty small but it was clean and cute and I would stay again. You basically pay for location

Pros: Very nice hotel within easy walking distance to central part of town. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Room was very small - with two small roller bags, we had some difficulty placing them in the room. There was also no light on one side of the bed and no shelf in the shower for shampoo and soap which were provided. Lastly, price for breakfast quoted in original booking “increased” which we were not informed of beforehand. We felt they should have honored the original price. (Even though it was only €2.50 more per person. )

Cons: Absolutely nothing to dislike
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Le Manoir is in a good location a little away from the heart of La Rochelle. It takes 15 minutes to walk through the leafy park to the Vieux Port. The hotel is decorated with what I would describe as 'pared back' elegance, very plain and simple with stand out pieces of artwork here and there. Our room was compact but very comfortable with a large shuttered window overlooking the road. The lady on reception spoke excellent English and was most enthusiastic in recommending places to visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very stylish property, in a convenient location
Cons: Our room was a bit on the small side, though others are available
9.2 Excellent
Pros: easy parking - very nice helpful staff - esp Silve - clean rooms

Patti and Patrick were the perfect hosts, a delicious breakfast in the morning and they also supplied us with plates, cutlery etc for our picnic in the evening.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendly reception given to us and the speedy check in
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we entered the hotel, too early for check in, the young lady on reception was really helpful and allowed us to leave our car in the hotel car park. This really helped us out and we were able to visit the city without worrying about the car. The hotel is just 5 - 10 minutes walk from the central harbour area. After checking in later we found the room excellent in every way. The following morning breakfast was very good. We would highly recommend this lovely hotel.
Cons: We did have a little niggle which we spoke about at reception the following morning and resolved the matter amicably. We have nothing to complain about.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is incredible you shouldn’t miss it and the bed was so comfortable, I highly recommend it
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Olivier on reception was fantastic
Cons: No pool
6.7 Good
Pros: English speaking staff on reception. Spacious room, plenty of furniture, comfortable. TV with some English channels. Excellent healthy choice at breakfast, which is regularly replenished. Only 5 minutes walk to the La Rochelle Ville rail station. Same distance to the sea front, aquarium, and St Nicholas restaurant area of La Rochelle.
Cons: Some areas of the room were tired in design, but we don't mind the 1970's look! Some small detail of scaling in places in the wash room, surprised this was not picked up by the Hotel. The bar area was always empty due to no atmosphere, but we managed our expectations through the many bars and restaurants that La Rochelle offers within 15 minutes of the hotel, so not a problem.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly at all times. Location - handy for marina (5 minute walk) but out of the way enough to be very quiet.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Pillows were extremely comfortable!
Cons: A kettle in the room.

Pros: we chose this hotel as we were travelling with our dog and because of its location, its right in front of the harbour and close to loads of bars and restaurants . it has a very modern decor, our room was large and had a big double bed, nice bathroom. breakfast was good, usual croissants and also scrambled egg. parking recommended by the hotel was a 10 minute walk away although we did notice there is street parking closer to the hotel. we had a nice stay and the dog liked it too.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: All things are in place. Friendly personnel. The location is just in the center of La Rochelle but very quiet in the room (probably very good windows). Most of the city attractions are in the walking distance.
Cons: It was quite tight in the room for 3 persons and in the dining room during before 9 o’clock breakfast. The shelves can be more clean especially the longest one.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The staff are very friendly and helpful
Cons: Very small bedrooms, poorly designed
8.8 Excellent

Pros: Location
Cons: Expensive, especially without breakfast
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location on the habour front, great breakfast. Room was fine and clean.
Cons: Finding the place in a car and parking were not easy but that’s the other side of it being in a perfect historic location.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel has an excellent location, very close to a great selection of restaurants - we tried Iseo (next door) and La Fleur de Sel - both recommended. The streets around the hotel are pedestrianised but taxis have access. If you arrive by car, do not be put off by the parking arrangements - one end of the nearby car park is very close to the hotel and the hotel can provide a discounted parking ticket.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very nice and big. Lacaion is good. I got help from the reception staff.
Cons: It was too exprncive for my needs
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location. Great food area.
Cons: Horrific "free" internet service.
7.1 Good
Pros: Thought breakfast was good but quite expensive. Great location to enjoy La Rochelle, close to harbour and many historic buildings. Restaurants a plenty at different price bands.
Cons: Decor a little tired! Our superior bedroom wasn’t! Towels threadbare and thin! Just needed a little care and attention. Also smokers next door on last night! Not sure was allowed
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed, super location
Cons: N/a
6.7 Good
Pros: Ideal location for the lovely town of La Rochelle. Convenient parking nearby, get your ticket validated at hotel, 8 Euros per day.
Cons: Room was too hot, even in October. When questioned about the non functional aircon, the staff said they would look into, but no further response received. If I had wanted a budget hotel without aircon, I could have booked such for less cost.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exactly in the city center. Perfect location.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location is absolutely perfect.
Cons: The rooms are not very clean. The baseboards were filthy and the walls need repainting. This could be a great hotel but it lacks many things. The breakfast was the worst we have experienced in France.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Not much, given we were both unable to have any decent sleep for the 2 nights stay. Constant and very loud noise all night long which was not addressed by the staff on duty at the hotel, although they admitted there was a lot of noise overnight Very noisy area at all times of day and night even with the window tightly closed. One To be avoided at all costs.
Cons: Please see above re the loud Noise In addition, this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel and priced as such. There is no Lobby area apart from one very small seating area in front of the small bar area which could probably occupy 6/8 people with a push. Restaurant food very poor, going by our own experience. Double rooms and being sold as such are very small. They are just about good enough for a Decent Single Room.
6.3 Good
Pros: Very central
Cons: Not up to 4* standard in my opinion
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was really good.
Cons: The beds are too soft. The carpet is a bit old and the interieur could get a refresher.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: VERY NICE HOTEL WITH EASY ACCESS TO THE MAJOR SIGHTS OF LA ROCHELLE.A LE
Cons: STAFF NOT VERY HELPFUL.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location right at the Vieux Port. Lovely views from our room overlooking the port. Room was very small but was well laid out with plenty of cupboard storage space. Refrigerator and kettle provided. Small but functional bathroom. Friendly reception. We arrived quite early, around 1:00pm but got immediate access to our room. We didn’t use the restaurant but it had a panoramic view of the port.
Cons: Room was very small but the location was perfect, more than adequate compensation.
7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely location, good facilities and excellent breakfast. Room was comfortable, if rather small. Good parking facilities including some disabled spaces.
Cons: One of the female receptionists was rude and offhand (unlike the rest of the staff, who were excellent). Room was rather small, with a small window (despite claims of a harbour view and an elevated price). Shower was in the bath, but access was difficult because of high sides to the bath and no grab handle.
