I'm a Pastor and I asked for a 1pm checkout due to a wedding ceremony I was performing in Huntington Beach at 4pm. Initially I was told no problem. I called on Saturday morning to confirm and my request was denied. Staff did not apologize, offer any solutions and I was very disappointed.

The room was very large and very comfortable. The facilities were very clean and aesthetically pleasing, although I was unable to spend much time there due to a business conference I was attending. I read good things about the restaurant, however, was unable to check it out for the same reasons. I was given the opportunity to check-in before noon and to request additional towels, both of which I selected. However, upon arrival I was told that I was unable to check-in early AND that, even if possible, it would cost an additional $40. Furthermore, I did not receive additional towels. So, my question became, why even offer these things if you're not going to provide them upon request.
Everything about the hotel was really really good. It is such a good value for the money. The beds were very comfortable the room was very clean and the staff was very friendly wouldn't hesitate to stay there again anytime.
I didn't like much. My experience was horrible here. We were lied to by the staff. Due to their lies, we ended up stranded at the event we were attending. We booked this hotel specifically for the free shuttle, and even made sure of times and venue location that it would all work out. Well, it didn't and the customer service desk did NOTHING to resolve. What an awful experience! I will never stay there again!

TOO LARGE THROUGHT IT WAS A BOUTIQU
Impressive, grand entry, airily quick check-in, comfortable beds, clean shower Music at the bar was so loud you couldn't hold a conversation. In addition the check-in attendant never told me details, such check-out time or that a continental breakfast was included ( I had to ask the next morning). They seemed rushed and ready for the next customer. Another issue was non-smoking on a designated non-smoking floor. I smelled smoke as I slept and saw butts on the carpet in the hallway. Lastly, breakfast was limited to toast, cold cereal, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs.
I had a problem with another room being extremely loud and disruptive,, the front desk and security took care of the situation, quickly. Also, the GM comped my valet charges...still not what I expected from a hotel like this.
Pool was great! Lots of space and fun games around the pool. Rooms were nice, good breakfast and fun bar/lounge

The grounds, the staff was friendly and helpful, bed was comfy, pool area and 24 hour marketplace were very nice. Paying for parking, odd odor on the different floors, no cold water, half-closed shower door.

We loved our room with a view. Even though the hotel was busy with dance competition and softball teams, our room was quiet and service was great. We will definitely be back soon!
The hotel is centrally located and six minutes from the airport, making it a great choice if you've an early morning departure or late night arrival. Our room was very quiet. The Marketplace was great for snacks and provided a good selection of tasty foods. The staff was friendly and the bed comfortable. The parking fee of $22-24 per night seems excessive for a suburb like Irvine which is pretty much made of concrete, shopping malls and parking lots. The sink drain didn't work properly, one of my pet peeves in a hotel in any price category and unexpected in this type of hotel.
I stayed a long weekend here with my friend and the lovely people at hotel Irvine really made us feel like welcome guests! From the complimentary bikes, to the Friday night movie on the lawn, to the friendly and delightful staff, every minute here was relaxing and stress-free. My friend has severe food allergies which the staff graciously and professionally worked arround for her. It really meant a lot to be able to enjoy my mini-vacation knowing that everything we needed was being taken care of. Thank you so much!
I liked the pool, room size, little market downstairs with reasonable prices, location to where I was going and the feel of the hotel. There is a mini refrigerator that you can fill up. I like the concept, instead of an overpriced minibar. The front desk was confused as to when breakfast ended. (We were told 8am which is ridiculous, but it was actually 9:30.) we missed a few days due to thinking we missed it. The carpet and little features could be updated, but for the most part it was clean. We would stay again.
Swimming pool and sea view were so beautiful the room is a little small
Suite at the Montage was fantastic with views to die for - great property with paths to the beach. The room had a comfortable bed, plenty of closet space, the room was made up at night with turn down service - overall one of our favorite places of all time, ever! Food items a little pricy ($100+) for 2 omelets and Belgium waffles for breakfast and while we like nice places to stay we often find that the "high end" food is a little too gourmet for our tastes and we found ourselves not eating on the property after the first day.
Pool The Ocean View Room was not Really an Ocean view. We had to spend a lot more to get a slight view of ocean.
Beautiful resort! Loved our room. Food was amazing! Love the boutique on site. Front desk was great. Had an early check in. Staff overall was very slow and not to experienced when it came to bellman and room service. Every time we called for something we sat on hold for a period of time. Then when we left the resort i couldn't see out of my car windows. I had hard water spots all over my beautiful clean mercedes. The sprinklers covered my car and when i asked the valet to help with windex they looked at me like I was crazy.
Much better than the Ritz @ Laguna Nigel or Montage. Outstanding service

Came here for a weekend getaway with my lady. From the moment we arrived we were very impressed with everything. Location is beautiful - hotel sits on a cliff overlooking the Pacific. We just relaxed and enjoyed our time in the Laguna area. Treat yourself...stay at the Ritz.
I had been looking for a hotel in which we could stay for a long weekend. This was one of 2 hotels recommended by a family member, and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The staff was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our favorite spot was the outdoor patio/bar which we enjoyed the beautiful weather and views.
The entire hotel staff knew my name from the moment I walked in the door. Everyone was friendly and everything from the food to the room was excellent. I enjoyed the pool and the room was big and spacious but comforting and welcoming at the same time. I'll definately stay again.
Staff @ Ritz LN are amazing-anything you wish at anytime can be yours. Club level (hob-nob w/the rich & famous) is worth every penny! Stayed at a few other RC properties & this one is by far my fav-not as stuffy as other Ritz-mix high class w/CA beach culture. Gorgeous spa; great products and a knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend wine flights at Eno for a fun time-avoid chocolate flights (rip-off) but the cheese & olive flights are great! Heading back for a week(yes, loved it that much;o) Bottom line-you will come back giddy as a school boy(or girl)!
I went with two girlfriends and the hotel was all we could ask for and more. Our room had an amazing ocean view with huge fluffy beds and a large flat screen tv. Both pools were very nice as well as the jacuzzis. The restaurant was good but pretty pricey. I would stay here again!
This hotel caters to their guest needs, whatever they can do to make your stay fantastic, they will do it. No matter what time it is, they will accomodate! Their rooms are clean, their bed and pillows are comfortable. When they turn down your bed at night, you feel more like home.

We have stayed many times at the Ritz Laguna, but since undergoing a complete renovation its truly spectacular. The ocean views are to die for.
What a beautiful hotel! The views are breathtaking! The staff was amazing, very accommodating, and highly service oriented. The flowers that greet you in the lobby were innovative arrangements, beautiful to view, and lovely to smell. Our room was so clean, and all of the essentials were there. The bathroom was highly functional for 2 -- separate room with toilet, and double sink so that 2 can get ready at the same time. I loved our balcony, and used it every day to read a book, or enjoy the view. The restaurants were fabulous -- they have thought of everything. The outdoor restaurant was my favorite. If you forget your sunglasses while the sun is setting, they have extras. If it is chilly once the sun goes down, they have blankets. There is just one change that I would request in our room, perhaps others. The air conditioner was probably the noisiest that I've ever heard -- each time it 'kicked on' it would wake us all through the night. There must be quieter technology available, and something to consider if there was ever a renovation. I can't wait to go back there!!!
Beautiful hotel. Nicely renovated. Service was ok. Miss the service touches from the St. Regis. Seemed understaffed at front desk. Breakfast at Aveo restaurant overpriced and ok, not wow. Was offered a 'flash sale' upgrade at check in which felt awkward for a luxury hotel.

I enjoyed the hotel because the location is spectacular and dana harbor is nearby. This is a great weekend getaway because of the numerous shops and restaurants as well as activities that people could enjoy! I love the options of renting kayaks, paddle boats and paddle boarding. People can even go whale watching. I wishes the pools were open later, at least till 10:00 pm ( to swim ). I also wish the trees in the park didn't block the view of the harbor, but I suspect that's a city thing. I just remember about 10 years ago a friend of mine married at the hotel. I remembered the spectacular view of the boats sailing in the background . The trees from lantern park block the view now.

The location was nice. Don't book this room thinking you will be getting the price you see. It will be about $100 more a night than the listed price. There is an extra fee for everything. I am just waiting for the 2 weeks after checkout fee because I am sure it's coming.
I have religiously stayed at this Laguna Cliff Marriott for close to 20 years . But on several occasions , this last trip was the worst , where your check out experience ruins the wonderful memories of the entire stay . Most customers would never come back , but the reason I keep coming back only to encounter check out nightmares . For instance . I book my room there through Kyyack who send my reservation and payment on to Expedia , who email me my confirmation number and itenerary for my 2 nights. Because of a flight councilation by AA.com I am forced to just move my 2 nights forward 1 day and notify both Expedia and the Laguna Cliff's , and they both confirm no problem no change in rates . So at check out my $159.00 all inclusive rate per night had changed a little less than $900 including my payment to Expedia for one night , and because the airlines had lost my luggage and my money and medicines and all my clothes I didn't have sufficient funds to pay the inflated rate and refused to allow me to pay by check even with my bank president on the phone garrateeing available funds . So I had told the manager I had $300 in cash for an emergency , to which she said use your emergency cash or don't leave the property . So I left with $25 dollars to get to San Jose to meet with Ebay and then back to LA for my flight home . I was able to sell my $1200 iPhone for $550 to enable me to have a place to sleep the next night , and in Silicon Valley $550 doesn't get you much of a room . AA.com still has not found my luggage with my billfold medicine , keep in mind I was just recovering for 2 complete hip replacements . So with no money to drive back to LA to turn my car into Hertz and fly home , I was forced to turn my car into Hertz at the San Francisco International Airport which changed my Hotwire rate of $10.95 per day for 6 days into an $895 dollar charge that included the payment I had already paid Hotwire for the entire week . Finally at AA.com's counter I explain I have no options , no money to drive back to LA to fly home and that I pleaded with her to change my ticket at no charge to fly back from San Francisco to home and she reluctantly agreed but only if I took the red eye . I explained I had not eating almost 2 days , she said do you want this deal take it or get out of my line and contact AA.com/Customer Relationships . Next

It's a beautiful hotel perfect for weddings and events. I was very happy with the upgrade to an executive suite. It's a first come first serve policy for free 2 hour bike rentals but I wish they had more than two smaller bikes out of the several bikes they had.
Beautiful view, great amenities. Mattress not as comfortable as you'd expect from a resort of this caliber.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The grounds were very nice with lots of places to sit and enjoy them. They have concerts on Friday night and they are quite loud, we were not notified they would be going on. I think that guest should be advised when they make their resevations.

The water slide for kids was pretty cool and the food was good, although pricy. Self parking is really far from the rooms. Plus you have to walk up a steep hill to get from the parking to your room. They don't have ramps to some of the areas. Had to carry out stroller down to the pool with the slide. The walls in rooms are really thin. Our room was next to the maid service room so pretty much the whole nights we would hear door slamming, people talking and carts being moved around. On our last night we could hear a couple arguing in the next room for like an hour. We could literally hear every word. We had two small children with us so all the noise would wake them up. Pictures on the web look nice but in real life the hotel is not even close to it. The lobby is the only nice area in the hotel.
Very quiet and relaxing. The grounds are well kept, the room was very spacious. There are a lot of activities and the location of the hotel is great, you can drive to the beach in 5 minutes, fashion island is next door and Sherman's gardens are just down the road. Parking is expensive ($25/day) and the lot is a bit of a hike from the hotel depending on which room you have.
The staff are very helpful and cheerful. Bar area is limited and subject to a lot of noise from families passing through or as part of a large concert crowd that can dominate the whole area at weekends. The resort is more than walking distance to most other shopping or restaurant areas or the beach. No quiet area for a drink and conversation.

The room was very nice and modern. Valet parking efficient. The resort fee was an unnecessary and unreasonable charge. The Friday night brunch is $50 apiece and worth under $20. They served dried our turkey breast at the carving station that had to be covered in gravey. The beef chunks were very tough. Don't eat there. Bring snacks and drinks. A bottle of beer is $4.50 the resort store. Poolside service is only during summer. This is Southern California. Summer is year around.
Close to Newport restaurants Found used silverware outside door at 4pm checkin. At 11:30pm silverware still there. Found used eyelashes on sink at checkin. No bathtub. Disappointed stay for the $220 nite rate

Pool area not cleaned up well....needs facelift badly! Bar Mitzvah at hotel was noisy at night. Expensive self-parking ($27 per day) and "resort fee" ($25 per day) adds significant cost to room.
Great gym and pools. Very nice outdoor setting. Parking costs additional $35/ day. Rooms are clean but feel old and cheap. They add 20% tip to the bill for any service provided...food.
The friendliness of the staff
The greeting by front desk @ 3:00AM after a horrendous flight from east coast was so very welcome. That attitude was evident during my entire four night stay. Marriott has never forgotten that hospitality is about the people, more than just a place to rest your body. This was an overall great experience. I do not have a single suggestion on improving anything I experienced
The staff is VERY sweet and helpful. Great location. Valets were SO SWEET! Extremely clean. My ONLY problem was I reserved TWO DOUBLE BEDS. I brought my 15 year old daughter and her best friend For a one night getaway. I received an am txt that our room would be ready at 4pm.. So we went to fashion island for fun lunch at Lemonade And some shopping. When we went to check in.. At 4pm.. I was told That they had over sold and our room had one king bed. In my reservation I specified THREE PEOPLE! I feel like I got bumped cuz I reserved thru kayak... Paid less. They brought up a HUGE rollaway That took up half the room. We couldn't even make room for it.. So we all 3 slept in one bed. Not the end of the world.. But I would have appreciated better communication. Beautiful hotel and we had a lot of fun.

Marriott hotels have always been an enjoyable experience. The room, location and overall stay was very nice. The in room dining as well as pool service staff was beyond slow. The drinks by the pool had a 30 minute ticket time and I had to call in room dining 6 times before my what was supposed to be surprise order of champagne arrived. I'm in the industry as well and understand things get busy. The in room dining gave us some strawberries as an apology for the delay which was nice but th pool staff did nothing to appease everyone's clear annoyance with the slowness of service. It wouldn't deter me from returning necessarily but it does make me question the hiring process at this location. Not only was the pool staff slow, the gentleman had the personality of a shoe.

Nice area to behind the hotel to walk. Larger room size Service was somewhat lacking. I stayed 3 nights. My room was never serviced by the cleaning crew after I checked in. Mattress was very firm and not very comfortable. Hotel nickel and dimes for everything. Self parking was $22 a night. Hotel Concierge wanted to charge me an additional $20 a night when I (a solo traveller) requested a king bed upon arrival instead of two queens, even though the hotel was half empty and the published rates of the king rooms were $35 less a night than the nightly rate I had paid for my stay.

It was all very beautiful, nice comfortable bed. Everything seems nice, new, and fresh. Amazing internet speed. Seems very executive. No where nearby will have free or cheap parking. I paid $30 bucks for parking overnight and $20 for wifi. Room was decently priced, but it was so fancy i didn't want to take the complimentary soaps just incase they'd charge me for that too.
Below average service Room had a weird smell. Asked reception to change my room and they said that they couldnt. They told me that I would need to upgrade and pay the price difference. Cleaning service were cleaning empty rooms at 10 pm while we were trying to sleep. 32$ parking per night in an area where it should be free. Better options out there. Definitely not returning.

We booked a single King. We got a tiny room with two double beds. Said they were out of Kings. Said they don't guarantee requests for online bookings. We were very disappointed. They did move us the second night but there was a constant banging noise in the vent so we couldn't sleep. We were treated like second class boarders. Parking is $32 a night with no option. The breakfast was not up to Fairmont standards. We will not stay there again.
The Hotel was truly five star, excellent staff and the rooms were great. Good location but you need a car to get anywhere in California. The Fashion Island shopping centre is next door and offers alternative dining options. This was our first visit to Newport Beach and the Hotel was a positive start to a great trip. As with most west coast hotels the parking costs do increase the cost of staying but overall this was a minor issue.
Great location - right across from Fashion Island shopping center. Easy access to restaurants, movies, shopping. Staff was very courteous and friendly. This was my second stay here. I would come back.
Very relaxing, wonderful food and brilliant staff. Did not use Spa. Pool was good. We had to move rooms as there was building work on that side of the hotel. Very surprised that they even put guests in such rooms as work started as early as 5am and we did not sleep after that time.

The location was perfect close to shops, restaurant with easy access. The hotel rooms were very comfortable & roomy. The staff was excellent, exceeded any expectations. My toilet had some trouble flushing but aside from that no problems. Please do not print that for public use.
I think the valet parking fee was too high. There wasn't any options provided to self parking. You had no choice but to pay $32 parking fee.

Hotel was beautiful, staff was courteous and friendly. $29/day for valet parking when no public parking was available. This added an additional 10% to the total cost of my stay. Ridiculous.

Newly remodeled and well kept up. Quiet, and a great view. Service at the cafe was awesome. The price I paid was a very good value.
The large bathroom with a separate shower and bath was amazing. The bedrooms had doors separating it from the spacious living room. The bed was extremely comfortable. There were 2 TVs with a fairly good selection of channels. The hotel is located away from places to eat so ordering room service sounds great but it's extremely overpriced. Price of parking was ridiculous. Sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and the extra blankets were scratchy.
Nice facility, friendly staff, comfortable large room. $28 for parking in a non-enclosed lots seemed kinda high, but what can you do. A 3.5-4 star hotel at this rate you really can't complain

Hotel is directly on the beach, and I mean, at high tide, 15 feet from the surf. All rooms face the ocean. Romantic dining restaurant with views of the ocean. There are floodlights illuminating the surf so you can see the ocean while you dine. Below the restaurant is a very cool bar, also, directly on the beach. Excellent location as they say. The pool sundeck is nice and the valet service was good. pool was heated and there is a jacuzzi. The property is older and they can charge the money because of their location. You wouldn't pay this amount if the property wasn't on the beach. Byzantine design and labyrinth of hallways makes for a confusing layout and difficult to get anywhere on the property. The pool is not a resort pool and is only the size and shape of something you would encounter at any discount chain motel. There is no separation of brats from the spa and pool so peace and quiet in those areas with your honey will be difficult.
The views No air conditioning
Booked an ocean-front room. It was 1/2 level above the pool and walkway to rooms. No way you could leave the blinds open to enjoy the view without people staring in. Asked for another room and was told none available; this at 3:40 pm. There we still lots of people checking in later. I believe that because I did not book directly, I was not given priority on this and below. And, arrived at 2:00 pm and told we could not check in until 4:00 pm. We were not offered a hospitality room and found later that they had them. When we did check in, were informed that check out was by noon. So, though rented a room for a day...it was really 20 hrs. We were given a dining credit, but in no way made up for the room. And then.....there was the non-operating elevator. After staying at the hotel 20+ times in the past on business, I will not return.
Location, rooms. Customer service could be better, we requested an early check in which they said was not a problem, we got there around 11am their regular check in is at 4:00pm, they told us our room wasn't ready yet but it would be ready soon. 4 hours later and still wasn't, they finally call us around 3:15pm to tell us that our room was ready, so we went to check in and when we said our name they told us it was a mistake that our room wasn't ready yet! So finally we check in at 3:50 pm, I guess still an early check in right? To top it off, when we received our bill, they charged us for a wrong service for almost $100 more! I don't know if we will be back.

There was a bunch of teenagers staying in the room next to us and they kept hanging out in the hall and knocking on the doors, from their room and the room across from them. The walls were too thin and we could hear them all night. They finally settled down at 3:30am. So I didn't sleep too well.
The air conditioner stopped working the last night
The shower was nice. The wi-fi connection was awful. Kept getting dropped. Worst wi-fi ever. They don't offer a wired connection alternative. Our room was really cramped for three adults. Our son attempted to sleep on the provided roll-away bed, but it was unrelentingly crappy. He ended up sleeping with just his feet on the bed and most of his body in a padded chair. They charge $18 to park in a cramped parking lot that's located in a business park. Felt ripped off. For some reason this Wyndham didn't even show up on our GPS, and we have the latest maps. Maybe it was trying to tell us something?

I travel a lot and have stayed in a variety of different hotels and this surprisingly ranks amongst my favorite. I was a little hesitant coming to this hotel based on some of the reviews from other sites and by no means does this hotel come in short on anything. Would definitely stay here again and recommend.
wonderful facilities, large and comfortable villas, lots of activities low water pressure and the hot water took a long time to warm up.
The location was great We booked this hotel for one night, thought we'd have a calm, relaxing day by the pool and enjoy the ocean view. We didn't realize just how family oriented this hotel is. There were kids everywhere, running and screaming, not what we were looking for and certainly not what we paid for. We should have paid a little extra and gone across the street to pelican hill. Bit, once we have a family of our own, we'll know where to go.
It is nice because it is close to mission viejo.
I liked the comfortable bed; the free breakfast; the way the courtyard is set up. I like the energy saving features. The lay out of the room was not very functional. There was little space between the mirrored doors of the closet and the bed while lots of space remained unused at the front of the room.
Great service efficient, knowledgeable Valet. Jason at front desk, Friendly...quick Check In...great room with view! Helpful room service staff! Beautiful lobby with nice bar...and a overall feeling of health and well being throughout the hotel...something for the whole family! Nothing...
Clean and friendly staff. Need in room upgrades on amenities and bathroom shower. Price point just above the value based on location and other luxury hotels. Too crowded from the sport gym guests. Can't find a quite corner in public areas.parking fees are excessive.
It was clean and the staff was very professional. Plus for the Wi-Fi being included. Nothing at all
It's kid oriented. Our room was not ready at check in, only to be told hours later we were being given a room with one king. If a room is booked for 4 people, why would you give them one king? Then we were given a rollaway, but told they were out of blankets. Are you kidding me? Had to order more towels and coffee. Then we ordered room service for breakfast, but were told they were out of just about everything we ordered. After having to visit or call the front desk multiple times during our stay, you would think they would have offered us something for all their apologies, but we were given no compensation. I don't think I have ever been so dissapointed in a place I spent over $200 a night on.
This was a nice and comfortable resort with clean rooms and decent food. Rooms have been updated and decor is a hybrid of transitional contemporary and traditional. WiFi was good and Staff was friendly. If you're an ATT mobile subscriber, the cell signal was weak. You will have to switch to calling over WiFi.
