Pros:Decent one bedroom suite with full kitchen and 1.5 baths. Suitable for our needs - close to airport, Lihue, and great little beach park. The security guard who helped us check in and saw us to our room was delightful - highlight of our stay.
Cons:We stayed only one night because we wanted a hotel near airport for late night arrival. A security guard helped us to our room because the office was closed. I had already paid what I thought was in full through Kayak before arrival/at time of booking. When I went to check out the next morning I was told there would be $125 mandatory cleaning fee as well, which I refused to pay. Because we stayed one night it would have increased the amount of our booking by more than 50% - unacceptable. This should be stated up front or included in initial booking. I spent 45 minutes calling Kayak/Getaroom customer service and arguing with the front desk to get the charge waived, not how anyone wants to spend their Hawaiian vacation. The kicker was that the room was really not THAT clean - dirty kitchen table for example. Room was a bit dated as well, but perfectly suitable. I definitely wouldn’t choose this place again based on this experience.
Pros:Easy to get to every where on the island. Kitchen was stocked well with pots, pans, plates and a few storage containers. Had a mostly unobstructed view of the ocean even though we didn't have ocean front booking.
Cons:Without the AC, the windows are open all the time and you can pretty much hear every one outside as well as the people inside.
